It hasn't been easy, but I've been trying to cut back on coffee. Last time I was at the store, I picked up two boxes of French Vanilla Cappucino mix and added coffee to it. Delicious.. still, I'm cutting back and going for water instead.

Same with Lady! You remember those boys I told you about, who lived behind me? Well, it's been nice enough out so that you can go swimming, which they've taken full advantage of. She loves to bark at not only them, but their dogs as well. Especially the little guy who belongs to the neighbors directly beside the people behind me. She's runs around the yard, then darts over to a little corner and without warning, she'll bark as loud as she can. Scares that poor dog half to the death! BUT, I think he gets a kick out of because they seem to have a little game going.

  That is just like Lady, I swear. She'll be having the time of her life out there doing everything under the sun. There's a bone she keeps hidden in her favorite sleeping spot, and one of her favorite things to do is toss that thing up in the air and then try to catch it. So I'll stand at the back door, calling her name over and over.... finally she shows up, her head down like, "Aww, do I have to?" It's so cute.

Maxey is a cute name. I remember the day Lady Bell died. She was under oour camper and was still alive. I called her to get up but she couldn't. By the time we got her out she was dead. We went to the flea-market later that day(My dad used to go all the time), and I found a little statue of a black and white dog that looked just like Lady Bell. I bought it and I still have it today.

I'm so sorry you weren't able to get her out in time, Sonny. A few years ago I went to this old antique store in town and found something very similar to what you found that day at the flea-market. Looks just like Max and I keep it in my bedroom, makes me feel close to him.

I don't think you're a trouble maker and I'm not saying that to suck up to you or anything. I think after what happened when EricIdleFan was banned from Chit Chat, I would definitely say her. You hear what happened? Here's the story in case you didn't read it.

PB banned EIF from Chit Chat (admins can ban a member from a certain board, something I didn't know before) and she let out a streamline of vulgar words and expletives towards him (privately) and started saying really bad stuff about the moderators on SO. PB told TJ and TJ banned her. Afterwards, she went on a lot of boards bashing SO and saying negative stuff about it. She tried to hide behind the excuse that she had Aspergers. To me that is a crock of **** because I have autism - which is similar to Aspergers - and I can control myself and stuff without having Autism completely hinder me. I have never once in my entire life used the excuse that I have a learning disability to try to justify any wrongdoing. The rules apply to everybody regardless of whether they are mentally challenged.

Thank you very much. My point has been confirmed.

and yeah... i read about her saying that she cussed out TJ and pav because she has aspergers. i really am sorry for making fun of things about her like ending everything with "!!" because that apparently has to do with it... but seriously, having a disorder doesnt control your mind and make you hit certain keys and hit "send."

Hi Kate. I was wondering if I was going to be here alone tonight.
It went okay. They said my blood pressure is fine and my heart was fine. They think perhaps I layed on a nerve wrong or something. I don't know. They didn't take any blood work and I didn't have any x-rays done. My sister had gone their before and she told me they were incompetents. They told me to take motrin twice a day and I have another apointment on April 1. Right now my arm doesn't feel to bad but I still got some soreness. I guess I'll see how it goes the next few days.

 With your apt. today, I wasn't sure if anybody was going to show up either.

It's good to know that you're healthy and that it's nothing too serious. Still, I wish they knew for sure about what's going on, ya know? But, hopefully they'll be able to tell you more once you go back. Until then, I guess taking the Motrin will help.

Have you gotten to speak to your sister at all today? If I'm prying, you don't have to say but.. I wish thinking about y'all today and wondering how she was.

No your not prying. She called twice tonight. She's been a nervice wreck. Her boyfriend looks like he's going to be all right but he's going to have to go through 2 months of rehab. Right now he's groggy and he isn't making much sense. She thought I was going to be admitted and frankly so did I.

:( Oh she must be. I said it last night and I'll say it again: Thank God she wasn't with him when it happened, and I'm really glad to hear that he's going to be ok. Did she think you were going to be admitted because of your arm? It's been, what, a month since it first started bothering you? Part of me thought there was a chance of that happening.

One of my friend's aunts was in a car accident several years ago and it's a wonder she made it out alive. They had to wire her mouth shut, and her other friend (who had been drinking and the one who was driving the car  ) broke both arms and legs.

Its been 3 weeks that its been bothering me. Some days are better than others. I've had 3 real bad nights. Yea she thought she was going to have to visit one hospital after another. She also has a doctors apointment coming up that she's worried about. It just seems like its all happening at once. You know its only been about a year and a half since our mom died and I think we're all still thinking about that but we just don't talk about it.
Thats terrible. :( Drunk drivers should be locked up.

Emotionally, all of you just have so much on your plate right now - and remember what I've said, I'm thinking of you. This thought comes to mind all the time: And the hits just keep on comin'. It's true.. when you think you've "had enough", something else has to happen. I hope it's nothing serious, Sonny.

About your mom, it may seem easier to NOT talk about it and what you're feeling, what you're going through and so forth, but... I really hope that everybody's able to sit down and finally talk. I'm sorry that they don't. :( When my grandmother passed away, nobody wanted to talk about it. If she was brought up, even in the slightest way, it was glossed over and another subject was brought up. I always hated that. Guess it's because I'm the type of person who wants to talk, it helps me.

Yeah, that was really scary. I really am surprised that her friend never served time. Never have I understood that.

I brought it up to my dad on the anniversary of her death and he started to cry, something he rarely does. I'm not bringing it up any more. On Memorial Day we went out to the cementary(All but my youngest sister) but thats about it. I still got a picture of her and I say goodnight to her every night when I get off of here.

That's understandable. My grandfather always talked about my grandmother, she meant the world to him. After she passed away, he rarely spoke of her. So, like you, I never brought her up again. The last time I had the chance to visit her grave, I never did because my grandfather went with his brother and sister-in-law... as he walked out the door, he said not one word to me about where he was going. On one hand, I understand his desire to be there alone with her and all but he knew how much she meant to me and how close she and I were. There are days when it upsets me but I haven't said anything to him about it.

Sonny, that is so touching. :bighug:

We always went to the cemetary as a family. I visted my Grandparents grave when I stoped in Wilkes Barre during Thanksgiving. When my Grandma was alive she still let the family visit my Grandpa's grave and this was the Grandpa I never met.
Yea its something I feel I have to do.
That would be great.

That's exactly what I'd like to do. Unfortunately, everyone's spread out so that makes it a little more difficult. When she was still here, we all had little reunions in the summer time and it was great. We stayed close then, but.. things changed when she died. The only person who goes to visit her grave on a regular basis is her youngest sister. If I was closer, I'd be there as often as I could. I just don't want her to be forgotten.

When I go to sleep at night, I include her in my prayers and I say goodnight to her, too. A while back I read that, if you pray for a loved one's soul after they've died, it helps them.

Yeah, it's something I need to start doing. But as soon as I see her picture, like if I'm thumbing through a photo album, I immediately start to cry. ohno:

I don't think many of my family goes out to the cementary much any more. When I was little we all went and made it a day. My cousins are busy now. My one Uncle lives in Philadelphia and he never comes down( I haven't seen him since I was about 8 or 9), but he's in bad health and of course my Aunt is an invilad so she doesn't go down there anymore. When I was in NC I never visited much so I try to whenever I get up there.
That is sweet. I'm going to remember that.
I have a hard time looking at the photos. I looked at a bunch after my Mom died and I couldn't stop crying. Their were pictures of me with her and my Grandma. I look so young. It seems like a different lifetime ago.

Sounds like a few in my family.. a lot of them are very busy, or now that they're older, it's not possible like it once was.

I thought so, too. Never have forgotten that, so I make a point to keep them in prayer especially for that reason.

Exactly, once I started crying I couldn't stop. Even songs on the radio do it to me. Most of the pictures I have of her are from when I was a little girl.

The ones when I am little are the ones that get me going. I see me with her, My Grandma , even Lady Bell. I haven't really looked at any of those pictures in over a year. It's gotta be tough looking at those. My mother's the oldest and she has hundreds of pictures from when she was a kid. She's kept them all, and was nice enough to give me a few that she thought I'd want to have. Over time she's given me more. I spent most of my summers with her as a kid. There's one where we're standing in the front yard, just as she's about to leave for work. That one gets me, and just about all of the pictures from past Christmases. Been at least three years since I've looked at them.

So true, Sonny. I've had lots of toys, but I don't have them anymore and it doesn't even bother me all that much. The pictures are what hold the memories and are what's most important.

Looking back over the years, that had to be the most special day out of the entire year. Everybody from my mom's side of the family would gather at my grandmother's house. The place was overflowing with my cousins, aunts, uncles and family friends. My cousins and I would play outside after opening up our toys while the adults gathered in the living room or kitchen. If I could go back.. that'd be somethin'.

That sounds so great. We never celebrated with the extended family but before we moved to NC we used to go to NY and PA every summer. I remember having picnics at my Grandma's house( This was my dads mother in NY). I;d play with my cousins and we'd have a ball. I guess one reason I hated NC so much is that we never visited. Most of my cousins grew up and I don't really know them any more. Its like The last time I saw you, You were 10. Some of my Aunts and Uncles visited once in awhile but never my cousins.

I'm more comfortable with my aunts and uncles, too. My cousins and I, when we're able to see each other, get along but not like we used to. Actually, the two I'm closest two are my dad's neices. We're almost like sisters. The first funeral I ever attended was for a friend of mine from school, one of the guys I mentioned to you and Allison. We'd gone to the same schools since the 3rd grade and even went to see Teen Wolf together. He was the class clown, really sweet and funny guy.

Oh no, I'm sorry. :( Sheesh, there are so many similiarities with your family and mine. When my grandmother died (my mom's mother), there was a sort of feud going on with my mom and her aunts and uncles.

Actually the ones I'm closest to are my 2nd cousins on my mothers side because were the same age. Yes I actually have cousins approaching 60.
The feud was over my Grandmother and where she was to live after she got sick. Not going into details Nobody in the family talks to my one aunt and her kids. I felt bad for the kids because they were put in the middle but I haven't seen them in ages.

 Don't worry, I wasn't going to bring up your age or say that they're old or anything. My oldest cousin is on my mom side, who's 10 years older than me. That's my second cousin. He married his high school sweetheart on my 11th birthday.

Sonny, that just plain sucks. Yeah, and that's exactly why I think it sucks. Kids shouldn't be put in the middle of something like that. :( All of my mom's aunts and uncles were going at it with my mom because, when my grandmother died, nobody called my mother or her brother and sister until several days later. Seems to me that there was a lot of tension going on years before all of this happened, which just made things worse.

I had a couple cousins who were married before I was born.
Mainly my Aunt and Uncle had a fight over my Grandma and where she would stay. My Uncle took her and didn't let the family have much accest to her. Her mind was gone at this point. Then my Uncle died of a heart attack and my Aunt didn't want her so she sent her to a nursing home without telling anybody and since only a blood relative could admit her she had her daughter admit her and she had custody of her. The whole family got in an uproar.

I should point out the first aunt was my uncle's sister(She's the one who's an invilad now) and the aunt who sent my Grandma to a nursing home was my Uncle's wife. I have to make it less confusing.

Ouch, that'll cause a lot of tension within a family right there. Holy cow, I'm sorry. My dad's grandmother wound up with her son for a few years before she passed away. Like with your grandmother, noone on his side knew that she had passed away until my dad's sister called to check on her. My uncle's 2nd wife, who was never well liked by the family, didn't want the "burden" so she sent her to a home. They're still very upset about that. This is what I'm talking about when I mention those similarities - it's spooky. I kid you not.

Once she was in the nursing home the family had accest to her and in fact my Uncle's family never visited her. When she died they wanted to bury her in an unmarked grave and that caused more problems because she had always wanted to be burried next to my Grandfather. She finally was but the other 3 children had to put up money to get her a Gravestone. It was a mess. :(

Sonny, I really am sorry your family had to go through all of that. I cannot believe they wanted her in an unmarked grave. I mean, they had to've known how much it would affect everyone. Sorry, it's not fair and that's something I've never been able to tolerate very well. :( My dad and his siblings had to cough (up) money for their grandmother's grave, too. Otherwise, there's no telling what could've happened.

It is. Damn!

Edited to add 'up' in the first paragraph. Would've been funny if they HAD coughed money, huh?

I think it was my aunt behind it all and her kids did what she told them. I don't think this would have happened if my uncle had lived. He was dead set against her going to a nursing home.

It was because when I was little we were a very close family. I lived near their when I was in 1st grade and every weekend we'd go over to their house. I even swam in their pool and I remember going to the fair with them. I really don't understand what happened.

It amazes me how one thing (big or small) can change the dynamics within a family, or even a friendship, in just one instant. Now I know that things happened over time, but still, you were a close family and then.. It was like that with my dad's. They were always much closer than my mom's. But after everything that happened with his grandmother, some won't talk or have anything to do with each other. Like you, I've never understood it and it still makes me sad to this day. We'd get together, watch football games (which is a very big deal on that side), go to the movies, do all sorts of things together and I really miss it.

Yea I got another memory of that fair. My other cousin who was my age didn't want too get on the merry-go-round because she thought it was for babies. I remember when my aunt and uncle took me along with my cousins and a few of their cousins from his side of the family, along with a close friend of the family who was maybe 3 years older than me. This was in 1984 when The Sky Screamer was brand-new. We were on the other side of Astroworld, at this water park called Water World. So we're in the wave pool, and I see a bunch of people on the ride. I loved riding all the scary roller coasters, still do, but I was nervous about that one. So my uncle says, "Hey Kate, you do know they make you ride it until you throw up, right?" I thought he was serious.. anyway, he kept it up and finally I said, "Ok, let's go!" We get up there, I'm all nervous and he's laughing. I wound up riding that thing over and over again, became my favorite ride that summer.

That's very true, and something that will always be around. At 11 I enjoyed my freedom as a kid, but at the same time, being an adult was something I thought could never happen fast enough. Once I left high school, being 11 would've been great again.

I wouldn't recommend it for them, either. NO way, it's way too dangerous. We lived in a fairly small neighborhood at the time and everybody knew their neighbors so my parents weren't worried about us too much. We'd stay outside until the street lights flashed on. I hated coming inside unless it was for lunch or dinner. Today, it's a whole other story.

I remember in NC me and the neighborhood kids used to play kickball out in the street. Then the lights would come on and then I'd hear my mom say "Sonny, Its time to come in" I hated that.

You know what, I rarely see kids going trick or treating these days. They're all teenagers, or at the very least, 12. But no little ones! My next door neighbor was telling me that the parents take them to churches more often, but not around neighborhoods as much. And a lot of them are pretty aggressive, yelling as they go from door to door.

  I would've done the same thing. "Here ya go, have fun out there!"

I have been fit and thin all my adult life; I was one of these girls that all the women hated because I had a size 22 waist and wore a size 3 dress..Well you can kiss those days good-bye..I have hyper tension at the age of 28 due to terrible stress in the last two years of my mother being sick and having to move back home to take care of her..Iam literally falling apart...and it is breaking my heart...:(

Which is what I always remind her about. She may not be here nearly as often anymore, but that doesn't mean we'd forget her - especially when she's going through something like this.
