There is a thread that has all the evidence. It's somewhere around here.
I'm just totally shocked. He was a nice person towards me even though we did have sort of an argument when we first talked to each other.
I hope the people that he harassed are doing ok.

It took everyone by surprise. I think this happened back in October about a week after you left.
Yup. It surprised me. He told me and everyone else that Cathy was lying. I did not believe that one bit. For one thing, I have been here for over 2 and a half years and I will say that Cathy is not the kind of person who would deliberately spread lies about someone. I know she wouldn't do something like that.
Brian 03-31-2004, 01:44 AM God this episode of 24 is freaky!

I agree with you. From talking and posting with her on occasion, she is a very kind person and wouldn't hurt people like that.
dandelion wine 03-31-2004, 01:54 AM Hey, guys.
First off, I want to thank all of you for everything you've said (in here and in PMs). It means so, so much to me especially with everything that's going on. Your prayers and thoughts are not forgotten by me, please know that.
For a little while, I just want to be here.. hopefully it'll help me feel some normalcy.

Yeah, Allison is usually here by now. I can only think of three things that she could be doing right now:
a) watching/taping TV shows or DVDs
b) taking a nap
c) gone somewhere (but will be here shortly)
You know me pretty well.

PZelda 03-31-2004, 02:22 AM OK, this is seriously crazy. I don't know what's going on with everybodys' relatives. :(
I found out yesterday morning...my dad was driving me to school...My stepsisters have a stepbrother (their real dad married a lady that had a son) that is around my real brother's age (23-24). Their real dad lives with his wife here in town...So I've been to their house before...blah blah...And I've met their stepbrother before...Seemed really nice...He had a daughter -- that would be my stepsister's stepniece (if you're still following me here so far). They've brought their stepniece over to my dad's house a TON of times...she is soooo cute...about 5-6 years old...And incredibly mature for her age...
Well, anyway, this morning my dad told me that their stepbrother ODed on meth the night before, and he died. I'm not going to the funeral or anything...but WOW. :(

It's just so scary when that phone rings and then the person on the other end drops the bomb on you. That was the same way I found out when my cousin died nearly 5 years ago. It's hard to believe she's been gone for 4 1/2 years now. :( I remember it...it was Sunday, and my dad had called my mom...so she was on the phone with him, and when she got off, she looked very solemn, so I knew it wasn't good news. :(

That's true. My Braves on the other hand should be really worried this year. I don't know if they will hold on to the NL East dominance that they've had for the last 12 seasons (excluding the strike year of 1994).
We've lost so many great players and we haven't gotten as many as we've had in years past.
The Phillies, Expos, Mets, and Marlins can certainly contend with the Braves this year.

My last Grandmother died in 1999. She had been ill and was in a nursing home but she was still permitted to leave for Christmas and Thanksgiving. She was in her 90's so it wasn't a shock but it still feels strange not having her here.

I remember how we found out when my grandpa passed away in Jan. '97...it was really early in the morning...I was getting ready for school, and one of my mom's brothers phoned at about 7am to break it to my mom...she and my sis were sitting together, crying...AND NOBODY WOULD TELL ME WHAT WAS GOING ON. At the time, though, my grandpa hadn't been officially pronounced dead...my mom's brothers found out at 7:30 (after I'd left for school) and then my mom came to get me at school at about 10:30 that morning and broke it to me. So she pulled me out of school for the rest of the week (it was a Monday when he passed away). :(

The only Padres games that I can catch is on TBS (if they're playing my Braves), or on ESPN or ESPN2, and maybe even Comcast Sports Net if they play the Orioles during interleague play.

They won't be playing the Orioles this year. They play the Yankees, Red Sox, and Mariners on the road. The Royals, Blue Jays, and Devil Rays come to town for the first time. I get to see the first ever game between the Pads and Blue Jays. It would be cool if Carlos Delgado hit a home run.

That would be cool. :)
Carlos Delgado is one of the most powerful home run hitters in the game.

:bighug:
When the phone rang, I thought it might be a friend of mine needing something but I never in a million years expected that kind of news. I saw him a week ago this past Saturday and like I told Sonny, he looked great. He was planning on keeping in touch and I'd go visit him, so much stuff to look forward to. I know that must've been very tough on you and your family, Allison. :( I remember asking if everything was ok and she said, "He's dead, Kate. He's gone." I dropped to my knees and couldn't speak.

In England, they charge for each soda refill, so you really learn to not drink your soda so fast there...Plus, they don't drown your drinks in ice like they do here. And even without asking, they automatically put a lemon slice in your Coke. So that's indeed how the Brits drink their Coke.

Hang on, I just remembered. I got sick when I was in England, and I had to have my dad buy some Sudafed for me...I'm gonna go scan ni the box...
OK here it is...They make Sudafed in England too, but the pills are in capsule form and not the little bitty red pills they make here. (a pic of it is on the box in the scan) It cost nearly $10 for 24 pills

That's so young. :(
My maternal grandmother died at 57, my maternal grandfather was a few years older than her and he died 5 years ago I think. He and I only met once because he pretty much abandoned his family and made a new one. So when I speak of this grandfather or that one, I know it can be a bit confusing. The man I consider to be my true grandfather was her second husband. He was there from the time I was born.
My dad's father is the one who died Monday night, so now my only living grandparent is his ex-wife.

I wouldn't mind American Idol as much if it was only on once a week but FOX overuses it and other shows on the network have to move out of the way.

Married With Children was part of the demise for Small Wonder. It first aired in September 1987 and Small Wonder was then going on to its 3rd season. FOX decided that since it needed to get more of an adult audience, Small Wonder would continue for another season to fill its quota of 90+ episodes and then end. Small Wonder didn't know that that was happening until November of 1988 (halfway through its 4th season).
Small Wonder continued for a few more episodes and then expired. A spinoff was going take place called To Good To Be True, but FOX felt it wouldn't mesh with their mold of having programs geared towards the 18-65 age group.

Thats Incredible and Real People were great shows. The difference is that the networks didn't make 20 coppies a year of them. They did the same thing with newsmagazines a few years ago. Networks can never come up with an original idea.

You know it's bad when even the networks can't come up with anything original. And you're right, Sonny. Sure there were trends, as there will be as long as television exists - but like you said, they didn't cram it down our throats. If anything, that's what bugs me to no end.
