I came across an empty can of Sprite...I have no freaking clue how old it was, but it was definitely pre-2000, because it had the narrow mouth on the top. :eek:

I think they stopped those when I was REALLY young or before I was born...I have heard of them though...And speaking of poking holes, my sis and I used to do that...We would poke the center of the top with a knife or soemthing and drink..:lol:

BALTIMORE, Md. -- Police in Baltimore say three women and two girls have been arrested in an attack that put a 12-year-old girl in a coma.

The child was in a coma for several days and had a breathing tube in her throat but has improved and is communicating with detectives.

Police say the attack happened during a party Feb. 28.

According to authorities, the incident began when a 12-year-old boy at the party was dared to kiss the girl, Nicole Townes. When he did, the boy's 14-year-old girlfriend allegedly began attacking Townes. Police believe the older girl was encouraged by her mother.

Police say the attack escalated, with other children and adults joining in. Police say the girl was beaten for at least 30 minutes.

She was taken to a hospital, where she was in a coma. Her condition improved Thursday, and she began communicating with police, according to Baltimore TV station WBAL-TV.

Thats what the world is coming to. Nothing surprises me anymore. Everynight I turn on the Baltimore channel or one of the D.C. channels and its the same thing, another act of violence.

I think they were freshman trying to make it on the cheerleading squad. I remember hearing that story ages ago...And I remember Seventeen magazine did like two or three stories about hazing in the last few years...Thank God I never took part in any hazing activities...I wasn't in too many activities in HS...I was in DECA and CloseUp in 10th/11th grades, and a class officer at the deaf school all 4 years of HS...but that was it.

I graduated 11 years ago, and in that short time so much has changed. I was in orchestra and journalism, that's it. We didn't have hazing, either. Kids do whatever the hell they want, and if they have enough money nobody touches them.

Speaking of school, my High School had a designated smoking area for the students. They did away with it a few years after I graduated. I wonder how many schools had this.

My high school had a designated area, too. About the time I entered my sophomore year, they did away with it. But even then kids would still sneak out there during lunch breaks and try to smoke. AHHHHHHH. Yes, the other weekend, I was at the mall and saw a 12 year old girl w/ a cell phone...she was swerving ina nd out of traffic...That is, walking traffic. I just wanted to yank her cell phone from her and throw it at the wall. SHUT THE HELL UP AND GET OFF THAT DAMN PHONE ALREADY.

I haven't heard anything too serious up here in my neck of the woods aside from the bomb threats, so I'm nothing nothing else happens....we don't need more crap like this happening. ohno:

My HS never had a smoking area. :lol: There was a bathroom the girls used to go into to smoke...but they blocked it off halfway through my freshman year. :cuss: It had the most toilets, too...now the boys get 4 bathrooms and the girls only get 3. AND THEY ARE ALWAYS SO FREAKING FULL BETWEEN CLASSES!!!!!

For as long as I can remember, it's always been closed campus for 9th/10th graders and open campus for 11th/12th graders. I was a good girl and obeyed the rules. :D

We couldn't go off campus but we could take our food outside. They had picnic tables or we could sit on the sidewalks by the buildings.

Did your HS ever do a senior edition newspaper issue? Mine did (they would come out in May and we would have two issues for that month), and many a time, seniors would confess to sneaking off campus for lunch during their 9th/10th grade years. :lol:

Right there is an old barn they built on school grounds in 1907 when the school still had a dairy farm operation. Rgiht in front of you is an old track field...and right around the corner from the barn (to the left) is a winding road that leads you right to the HS...it was across the street :lol:

On the first floor, to the right of that door there, is a muesum the school started about 10 years ago. They have carpentry classes in the left side of the building, and the entire 2nd floor is empty...it's not in use right now...but it's so cool exploring up there...and if you go through that door, they have an underground tunnel. :D

Allison, I want to visit that school. That is gorgeous! Reminds me very much of my junior high, which was built in the early 1900s and used as an elementary and high school for many years.

OK, I'm better now. I was nervous there for a while, tho. Now I have my flight schedule -- I'm gonna bump up my "Spring break" thread and post it in there :D

The Terps were down by 19 at halftime but they came back to win. Now they play Duke for the conference championship tomorrow afternoon. They should be in the ncaa basketball tournament now too.:woohoo:

Those are nice Valerie Bertinelli pictures Kate. I added some Western Pictures including the Rifleman and Daniel Boone ( shows that Mike z had in the galleries).

Hey thanks, Sonny. Just took a look at yours again, had to see those Tv Guide covers once more <--- my favorites! That was cool of you to add the Rifleman and Daniel Boone pics back in to the dramas gallery. I still don't understand why Mike would take all of his out. :(

This is really neat. The campus used to have a mini-zoo of sorts...we had goats, peacocks, that kinda stuff...but that's not there anymore...We still have a huge duckpond, tho, and that area is the prettiest area on campus...they have this Japanese bridge on it...the only thing about it is, the pond is fenced off so you can't go walk on that bridge...it's really pretty to look at, tho.

The indoors swimming pool...I hate it. :lol: It sucks. Somebody painted two murals in this area; one that you can see in this picture (the whales one) and another one on another wall taht's not in the picture...And there used to be a diving pool by the whale mural, but after a few kids got hurt on it, they took it out. :(

And there's a hot tub that you can see (by the glass door over there). The hot tub sucks, too. :lol: People are always overcrowding it and making it flood into the pool. :cuss: :lol:
