Mr. Television 08-09-2005, 02:22 AM I liked the other one the other day...The one about the Amish family.
That was classic. I wonder where it really leaves to have Amish people like that around.
Skywalker 08-09-2005, 02:23 AM I don't know if they'll ever be considered classics.
 They aired Exorcist II and III last week, yet they didn't air the first Exorcist, in fact, I don't think they've ever aired it. It just doesn't make any sense.
PZelda 08-09-2005, 02:23 AM Georgia On My Mind {Chris} is back.
Actually, no. It's somebody else that liked "Georgia's On My Mind" the song...
Hmmm, I see he doesn't mod DW anymore. I'm gonna ask TJ if I can mod the DW board too since you know I love DW ;)
(I just checked Chris GOMM's profile and he last posted on 5/22/05)

According to the New AMC Exorcist ll and lll are classics and the original one isn't.

Yup, so far. He was mod when the 13-year-old rule was still in effect, but he didn't have his DOB listed in his profile before then so he was actually 12 when he became a mod.
You also have to be here for at least 6 months to become a mod. I'd been back here for 4 months and found my old name (this one) when I became mod in September of 2003.

He always acts so mature on the TSR board though, you'd think he was older than that.
Yea I saw that TJ posted that.

I think it was in that moderator thread. He said you have to be 15, been here for 6 months and have to be a regular at the board you want to be moderator of.

I didn't even know about a rule when I asked TJ first. I only found out a couple of days after he made me mod.
robyrob 08-09-2005, 07:48 AM I didn't even know about a rule when I asked TJ first. I only found out a couple of days after he made me mod.
well TJ obviously checks people out before making them mods, even before the rule was changed, he didn't make a mistake with you a mod at 12.
age isnt as important as maturity, and power is useless if not used properly - you can do a heck of a lot more just by talking to someone than you can by exercising your mod powers....

Cactus Jack 08-09-2005, 01:24 PM does the Sketch Show sboard have a moderator?
Nope, I could moderate that!:D
PZelda 08-09-2005, 01:25 PM I don't think so. I didn't remember me having the "C" at the end of VivianHarmon1934. I thought it was just VivianHarmon1934. Jonathan is merged with all those previous usernames, and GoldenFanatic and Jonathan were merged her recently.
I remember you, Sonny. I remember chatting with Mr. Roper a lot, actually. It wasn't until recently I actually realized that was you.
I shall be off. You guys have a good day. :bye:
You're right, I looked back through some posts and found you were really VivianHarmon1934, and you didn't have "C" or "Fan" in there. :o

I remember when he modded Joe (maroon5'd) for the Who's the Boss board. He pretty much edited out every negative comment about Alyssa Milano because he thought it was bashing. I didn't think he should have been a mod, neither did Pavan, and he was soon demodded. He obviously was not mature enough to be a mod yet.

he wants to mod again right?

Yep. And it will not happen, at least not in a few years.

That is why I think it is vital for all mods to post their own rules in their boards. I did on The Good Times. I pretty much mentioned that I am a very lenient moderator and that I am indifferent if people bashed the show or the characters or even TV Land for that matter..but I will draw the line when someone bashes another member...
Living In a '70's Dream 08-09-2005, 02:42 PM YES...THE MCMILLAN AND WIFE DVD IS OUT TODAY!!! :woohoo:

Brian 08-09-2005, 02:45 PM YES...THE MCMILLAN AND WIFE DVD IS OUT TODAY!!! :woohoo:
I'm asking for that and the McCloud DVD for Christmas.
Living In a '70's Dream 08-09-2005, 02:47 PM I'm asking for that and the McCloud DVD for Christmas.
McMillan and Wife is one of my favorite tv shows of all time. I love Susan Saint James :)
Brian 08-09-2005, 02:49 PM McMillan and Wife is one of my favorite tv shows of all time. I love Susan Saint James :)
The NBC Mystery Movie had some of the best shows of the 70s. They had McMillan and Wife but they also had McCloud and Columbo, which is probably my father's favorite show of all time. My oldest sister got him the first season of Columbo on DVD for Christmas.

I remember watching the NBC Mystery Movies as a child..but I just recently became a fan of McMillan and Wife when WGN started to show some of the episodes.
Brian 08-09-2005, 02:51 PM The Hallmark Channel also showed some of them too. I watched part of an episode one time.

Both WGN and Hallmark broadcast a lot of the latter seasons eps of McMillan and Wife. I only have one episode from the show's first season..and that is why I am pretty stoked about the first season DVD :)
PZelda 08-09-2005, 03:02 PM I better get mucho dinero for my birthday. I'm not asking for anything for my b-day this year, except MUCHO DINERO. I need to prepare for SEPTEMBER!!!!!!! It's hard to believe that in exactly a week from today, I'll be 20.

I can imagine that when I'm 19, I won't be able to wait until I'm 20 but for the week beforehand, I'd dread it. 20 would be like closing a chapter in life or something like that anyway
PZelda 08-09-2005, 03:07 PM Hey, guys. I won't be here much longer, it's beautiful outside and I'm going to hit the trails in a bit.

That show comes on my WGN channel here! It's not captioned, unfortunately. But it looks like an excellent show. I'm just glad my WGN station got MAGNUM P.I.!!!!!!! God, Tom Selleck...
Superstar 08-09-2005, 03:10 PM - Jonathan

sounds like fun :)

You only have another 5 years and 10 months to go. ;) Yeah, you're right, you close a chapter and start a new one when you hit 20. You are no longer a teen, but you still can't buy booze until the next year. The real fun starts at 21. ;) I'm really looking forward to being in my twenties, though. I'll be able to do more stuff I couldn't do at 18.
PZelda 08-09-2005, 03:15 PM Right now I am having lunch then after wards I am heading down to the beach and hike 6 miles...
Ohhhh, sounds excellent! I'd really like to hit up the beach myself. Fortunately I don't have to wait much longer, since I leave on Thursday to go to my family's cabin, which sits right on a lake. Man, I can't wait. I haven't been to the cabin since the summer of 2003.
Superstar 08-09-2005, 03:15 PM  Yeah, 20 and 21 are pretty big birthdays. They shouldn't lower the age to buy booze, or they should raise it to 22. 21 just seems random to me
PZelda 08-09-2005, 03:16 PM These are the only ones I am familiar with

omg: 22?! Bah.
I think they chose 21 as the legal age to buy booze because there are a lot of other things you can't do until you turn 21. In my state, you have to be 21 to gamble at the casinos. Enter the lottery, etc. and I really want to call in to play ExtravaDanza on Tony Danza's talk show, but I can't do that yet because you have to be 21. :cuss:

Superstar 08-09-2005, 03:25 PM Yeah, true. But I'm not really in a hurry. I just want to get the hell out of my teens first.
I think 19 is a weird age to be. 18 is a big birthday, and 20 is a big birthday, but 19 is just a year to pass waiting to be 20  Your lucky your almost out of them, I have another 6 long years.

That's exactly what I thought. Nineteen is kind of the "go-between" years. Nothing really exciting happens then.
You have some fun years ahead of ya. I wouldn't mind being 15 and 16 again, I had a lot of fun those two years. You start HS soon, right? You should have a lot of fun then. ;)

My neighbor was nice enough to come over to me this morning while I was about to leave for work and give me some of her homemade biscuits. I thought that was a nice gesture and all, but I ain't about to touch them - the crazy b*tch probably laced them with something
Mr. Television 08-09-2005, 04:34 PM Hi Sonny boy.
Yeah, I've got most of the homework out of my way, so I'll try to stick around a few more minutes. I miss the nightly chats. Last night I wanted to stay up until 2 or 3 and chat with you guys so bad. :( I need to start napping from like 4-8, get up at 8 and do homework, etc. Stay up until 3-4 and sleep for an hour or so.
Yah, really. I remember Mr. Roper....we talked a lot, actually. Looking back at some of my posts, like when I first came here...sheesh, they are so dorky.
Sorry about that. Computer's acting up.
That sounds like a plan. I remember when I had to go to bed at a certain time. It sucked because thats when all the good tv shows came on. Maybe you can still pop in here on the weekends.
I remember we chatted when my computer was broke down. I came into the thread and you were the only one in it. My first post was on the New WKRP In Cincinnatti Board. Talk about dorky.
Mr. Television 08-09-2005, 04:40 PM My neighbor was nice enough to come over to me this morning while I was about to leave for work and give me some of her homemade biscuits. I thought that was a nice gesture and all, but I ain't about to touch them - the crazy b*tch probably laced them with something

Mr. Television 08-09-2005, 05:12 PM I remember watching the NBC Mystery Movies as a child..but I just recently became a fan of McMillan and Wife when WGN started to show some of the episodes.
I did too. My whole family watched it. I liked all 3 shows, Colombo, McCloud and McMillan. It was the only night of the weak besides Friday and Saturday I got to stay up till 11. Oh and Quincy too. That show became so popular it left the NBC Mystery Movie after a few months and became a weekly series.

Brian 08-09-2005, 07:46 PM I am not going to get any TV DVD's until the Deep Discount DVD sale in November. I've set aside some DVDs I plan to get. One of them most definitely will be the first season of Alfred Hitchcock Presents Season 1. I've calculated the minutes and it appears to be uncut. Who knows, there might be a couple of edits but it appears that they will be uncut. The other two I'm considering getting are an 80s show and a 70s show that PB said will be coming on DVD by November.
Tuesday Weld 08-09-2005, 07:47 PM I prefer CDs, anyway.

1 that hasn't even been opened that will probably be used for the bonus room if we have any space.
