Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?- There are some slow parts, but Burton and Taylor's performance were so great, and the dialogue so fast and witty (especially from Burton) that I can't help but love this film! Sandy Dennis performance was really odd, and it was strange noticing her pregnant halfway through the film. IMO, Burton gave the best performance. I'm still a bit confused though, so I've watched it twice, and I'm still puzzled!

"I need to put some powder on my nose"

George: "Martha, show her where we keep the eh, euphemism"

Susan Sarandon's Mimi is a great character- funny and evil. Russel the 'painter who doesn't paint' has the best and funniest lines in the film:

'Darkness Falls'- before watching this the people I know in school really built up my expectations, hyping the film up- but I was kind of dissappointed. It gets to be a really slow film after the first 40 minutes, until the ending.

One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest- I thought it was great, but the ending was so sad, I thought mcmurphy would've escaped. Also- why in every army or hospital film or anything does at least one good guy have to die just when you think it's all going good? Billy died in this, and in The Great Escape the little scottish guy dies!

Oh yeah, Kill Bill is right up his Bruce Willis, Schwartzenegger alley. I'll watch that one as well since I've loved all of Tarantino's films. As for the violence, I'll do what I always do--put the sofa pillow up to my face and miss half the movie.

It's scheduled for dvd release in April, unless a certain industry insider can help me out beforehand. ;)

I finally saw Disney's animated classic "Alice in Wonderland" for the first time (I got the Masterpiece Edition as a late Christmas present). I loved it, although it seemed short. If you like Alice in Wonderland and don't own it, I strongly recommend the Masterpiece Edition. I also got to see a Mickey Mouse short film called "Thru the Mirror" or something like that. Very interesting. In addition, I saw a part of the "One Hour in Wonderland" feature, which was the first animated sequence in "Song of the South." In that part, James Baskett (as Uncle Remus), sings the Academy Award winning song "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" and Br'er Rabbit runs away.

That happens to me with certain movies. I'll love them the first time and yawn during the second viewing.
I don't recall the wigs. I rented it when it first came out. I just remember really enjoying it.
Have you ever seen the 60s TV version of Cinderella? Lesley Ann Warren was so beautiful....and I forget his name, the guy who plays Alan Quartermane on General Hospital??
It's a low budget but great little film. They used to air it every year when I was growing up, just like they did with the Wizard Of Oz.

Of course I have! :) I'm a big Cinderella fan, so it's kinda strange that I'm not a big Ever-After fan. Love the cheesey Lesley Ann Warren version (Stuart Damon was the Prince) and the remake with Brandy was good too. I liked Igby Goes Down, but it's not a happy movie. Most every character is miserable in some fashion.

It wasn't my type of movie but it had the hunk factor going for it with Russell Crowe. My husband loved it, and I don't think the hunk factor crossed his mind. Hope not anyway. ;)

I thought it was a little sad. I mean you go to sleep, and the next morning you can't remember what happened the day before. That is sad. I thought it had some funny parts though.

I agree. Cold Mountain should definitely have received an Oscar nomination for Best Picture. I liked it better than most of the other nominees -- Seabiscuit, Master and Commander and Lost in Translation. I didn't see LOTR which will most likely win.

I did like Mystic River the best, of the five nominated movies.

Yeah, it's kind of ridiculous that it didn't. Renee is the only one from the movie up for a SAG award tonight. I really hope she wins the Oscar. Besides giving an excellent performance, it really is her time to win one! This is the 3rd year in a row she has been nominated for one.

Thelma and Louise- first time I've ever watched it (it was on tv) and I always thought it was some sort of buddy style film (i knew the ending though)- like a banger sisters thing- but no! Susan Sarandons character (she's Louise isn't she?) shoots a guy 10 minutes in! But- I still loved this film. I'll see it again sumtime.
