View Full Version : What's The Last Movie You Saw? (Part 10)
JamesG 12-21-2014, 11:02 AM I actually managed to watch all 13 of them, it's hard to distinguish them other than some felt like soaps with nudity thrown in.
I haven't seen all of them, but I've always liked these "bad" soft-core flicks.
I liked this one because of the seedy night club feel and for referencing the old legend of jazz singers selling their soul to Satan for success.

Nothing wrong with that, I think because I was trying to watch them all for a "Bad Movie Challenge" and not just for entertainment I got burned out on them, and not just them but cheesy/bad movies. Which is why I won't do those challenges any more.
Torgo 12-22-2014, 08:04 PM Christmas Evil '80  (On Blu Ray. Director's Cut, even features the original You Better Watch Out Title. The film looks fantastic, miles above any of the VHS releases, or previous public domain DVD releases.
This is the first feature film appearance for Patricia Richardson.
Also started listening to the audio commentary with writer/director Lewis Jackson, and John Waters who is a huge fan of the film.)

It appears Fox, with a few exceptions, did NOT digitally compromise their titles Home Video, during the 1980's and 1990's. At least not until DVD came along.

Torgo 12-29-2014, 08:24 PM I'm also re listening to the DVD commentary for the 1987 film Captives. It's included on the DVD set Camp Retro 80's Collection. The moderator and writer/director Gary Cohen (who also directed Video Violence 1 and 2 which are also included in the set) don't talk about Captives, but discuss Gary Cohen's experience owning a video store in the 80's, and they also talk 70's porn, grindhouse theaters, pre-DVD media (everything from BETA to VideoDisc), UHF channels. It's a really interesting and entertaining listen.

I know it isn't that perfect, but as long it has a message in it, it partially counts worth watching it.
Also, this movie is a little bit better than Valentine's Day movie, although.
