"It is just right off the family room this way." Heidi rises and starts for the room she and Robert had set up for Lexi when she was over at their house. Jinny looked at Theodore as he came over and held out his hand to Jinny. She said, "I guess your mom wants us to see Lexi's room."
"Looks that way Jin." Teddy adds with a soft laugh helping Jinny up from her seat.
Theodore and Jinny followed Heidi who still had Lexi in her arms into the spare room. Heidi said, "We set up a crib and everything so Lexi will be just as comfortable here as she is at home."
"Did you go out and buy all this mom?"
"Of course she did, nothing is to good for her first grand child. You might also like to know she is expecting to put this crib to good use." Robert replies following everyone toward the extra room.
Jinny asks, "Good use?"
"She plans on all your kids using this crib."
Jinny coughs as Teddy pats her on the back.
Heidi then hits to the real point of the evening, "Which brings me to the point of having you two come over here tonight. When is the last time you two went out?"
"We have had a lot of quality time mom since I have been home with Jinny also."
Heidi said, "No son not quality time, when is the last time you two went out to dinner or dancing?"
"We are fine, Heidi. We knew when Lexi was born it would be different," Jinny answers watching her daughter in Heidi’s arms.
Heidi said, "It doesn't have to be sweetie, that is what grandparents are for."
"What are you getting at mom?" Teddy asks still not grasping what his mother was hinting at.
Heidi said, "Well I see it that you two have been taking care of this beautiful child of yours for 5 weeks now, which by the way you two have done a wonderful job of and I thought you might like a night out together alone to do what ever you want to do."

Theodore looked at Jinny, "Are you sure about this mom?"
"Teddy she was never so sure about anything. Although the decision is up to you two but I can say Lexi will be well taken care of." Mr. Blumenthal assures them.
Jinny looks to the man, "We know Lexi would be in good hands with you and Heidi, it is just when I go back to work full time you two will have your hands full with Lex then."
"Nonsense, we really would like to do this for you tonight. We want you two to go out and have some quality time alone,” Heidi answers smiling down at the little baby in her arms that had her hand around her finger.
Theodore said, "It looks like they really want to do this Jin."
"Only if you two are sure?" Jin asks once again.
"I have never been so sure of anything sweetie." Heidi answers with a smile.

"Okay then…” Jinny says reluctantly looking to her daughter, “I made up Alexis three bottles before we came over, they’ll have to go into the fridge. You do have Teddy's cell number right?" Jinny asks. She hadn’t been away from her daughter since she was born. It’d be nice, but worrisome as well.
"Don't worry Jinny everything will be fine here you two just go out and enjoy your time alone."
Theodore extended his hand to Jinny and said, "Shall we?" Jinny walked over to Heidi and looked at her daughter and leaned down and kissed her forehead as she raised back up, "Lexi be good for your grandma and grandpa okay. I love you."
She turned around and took Teddy's hand and said, "As ready as I will ever be."
"You can call mom if you have any problems my cell phone will be on." Teddy kisses his daughter on the forehead; "Mommy and Daddy will be back in a little while to pick you up sweetie."
"You two have fun." Heidi smiles as she watches the couple get ready to leave.
Jinny and Theodore turned to leave as Heidi said, "Robert could you put the bottles in the fridge?"
Robert replied, “Sure, hon.”

It’d been months since Gabriel had popped the question, and still Magda had gone out of her way as not to answer, for Gabe to give her more time. Although tonight she was home alone, Ben had gone over to his friends for a sleep over, and Gabriel was on his way over. They’d been getting along rather well lately, the New Year had been a time that Magda had told herself to put the past behind her and focus on what was the best for her, for Benjamin.
The doorbell brought Magda to glance up at the door from her sitting on the sofa with her coffee in hand. She exhales, leans forward putting the mug on the coffee table, and making her way over to the door. When she opens it Gabriel was standing in front of her his right hand behind his back came around with a bouquet of flowers a grin of his face. “For you.”
Magda returns a smile and takes the flowers, “They’re beautiful, Gabe.” She says smelling them before she finishes Gabriel puts up his finger as if motion ‘One’ to her as he goes to his knees still half way into the hall of the apartment building. As he does this a neighbor of Magda walks by looking closely at Gabriel then giving a thumb up sign, Magda laughs in response as Gabe begins, “Magda, I love you… Will you marry me?”


Teddy inserted the keys into the door and opened it for Jinny to walk in, "So what do you want to do with our night Jin?"
"I don't know yet, any suggestions?"
Theodore walked over to Jinny and wrapped his arms around her waist and drew her close to him as he said, "Well we can just go get takeout and stay here and enjoy one another?" Jinny smiles and leans her head back onto him, "That is a nice option. Any others?"

Theodore leaned down and gave Jinny a lingering kiss when he ended the kiss he said, "We could get dressed up and go out for dinner and dancing? What sounds best to you?"
"Well we could go out for dinner and dancing, then come back here for desert before we go pick up Alexis?"
"Is that what you want?" Teddy asks down to her.
She shrugs, "What do you want to do?"
"You know Jinny as long as I am with you I don't care."
"Cowards way out."
Theodore laughs softly in Jinny’s ear, "I want to do what every you want to do."
"So you have no opinion is that what you are saying?"
"Jin I will be happy going out for dinner and dancing and coming back here for desert, or running to get takeout and lighting some candles and having our own private little party. Your call Jin."
"Actually I like both suggestions. Hmmm maybe a little preview of what our own little party is called for. Tell me what we would do?" Theodore leaned down and slowly caressed Jinny's neck with his mouth, "Well we would go pick up takeout and come back here and get comfortable as we fed each other and enjoy a few kisses in between bites. Then we could adjourn to the bathroom and light some candles and fill the bath with water as we got into the water and washed each other until the other was clean. Or since you wanted to see me in those scrubs we could maybe go that route. Anything your little heart desires Jinny."
"Hm.” Jinny laughs to herself, “I like that option.”

LOL, They'd be definitely close together if that were the case, huh. haha My brother and I are 20 months apart, but if Jinny were to have a baby they'd be way closer than that. haha.. Theodore bent down for another kiss before he released Jinny and went to the phone to call in their order. Jinny walked to their bedroom and proceeded to get things set up as Teddy placed the order.

Magda looks down at the awaiting Gabriel, “Yes, I’ll marry you.” She grins.
“You will?” Gabe looked delighted, “I mean… That’s great, Magda!” he jumps up and hugs her with a smile the flowers being smashed between them. “Where’s the ring I gave you?”
With a laugh Magda replies, “On my dresser in the bedroom.”
“Come with me.” He smiles taking her free hand.
“Gabe, Gabe, sweetie I have to put the flowers in water.”
“You will, Magda.” Gabriel grins leading her back to the room to get the ring.

"Okay when should it be here?" Theodore listened to the response of the Chinese Delivery person.
"Okay so it will be here is 1 hour and 15 minutes, that is fine and the cost is $ 15.99." he nods and hangs the phone up.

There are these little brothers I know who are eleven months apart. What is really funny is that they are both in second grade because the youngest one was born in August and the older one in September, which put them both in the same grade because the cut-off to start school is five by August 31. Everybody always thinks they are twins or that the older one had to repeat a grade.

Okay, that was a bit of useless info., but I would like to see Lexi have a sibling soon.

Checking his watch he heads down the hallway to find Jinny, as he neared the bedroom he had already removed his shirt and tie. Theodore walked into the bedroom and Jinny was no where to be seen, he saw a small light under the bathroom door as he headed towards the bathroom, he shed his pants in the process and opened up the bathroom door, what he saw before him made him look at his watch as he took it off and lay it on the counter in the bathroom.
"I- I uh, like the ambiance you have going here Jin." He smiles at her.
She opened her eyes and looked up at Teddy before replying, "Then why are you all the way over there?"
Theodore quickly joined her in the tub, as the candles were the only light that lit the room. Jinny leaned back onto Teddy, "How long do we have before they will be here?"
"1 hour and 10 minutes."
"We might just make it before they get here."
Theodore leaned down and caressed Jinny's neck with his mouth as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer to him.

The doorbell rang as the two had just gotten their robes on and headed for the living room. Teddy grabbed his wallet off the table by the phone and answered the door. Jinny came from the kitchen with the waters she had grabbed from the fridge as Teddy placed the Chinese food on the coffee table as Jin joined him on the couch.
"Water okay?"
"Water is just fine Jin."
Theodore took out the Chinese food and placed it on the coffee table in front of them as Jinny reached for a container.
"Hungry are we?" Theodore asks.
"Just a little. I need to regain my energy."
Teddy looks at her with a smile, "That you do, the night is still young and we have plenty of time before we have to go pick up Alexis."
"Wow Teddy I was told all these horror stories about how a couple after they have a child well you know."
"Yeah I know. I read the same thing.” He nods, “So, uh, we are outside the norm is that what you are saying?"

After putting away the leftovers of their Chinese dinner Theodore joined Jinny back on the couch where he had left her.
“Long time no see.” She smiles.
He laughs softly not opening his mouth, but leans forward and pushes her cascading damp hair behind her shoulder coming close and kissing her neck.
“Mmm” she says softly with a brief low laugh bringing her hand up to the side of his face and caressing it before gently running it down his neck, to his arm, then inward to the ‘V’ shaped opening at the top of his robe where his chest was exposed.
Theodore redirected his kissing back upward from just below her collar bone, making his way slowly up her neck in soft kisses to her ear where he kisses her earlobe, and with a hot breath touching her ear she hears him whisper ‘I love you.’

Gently she moves her face where it caresses against his, “I love you too, and I’ve missed this.”
Theodore moves back their faces still close their cheeks brush softly together, before he moves back in and meets her with one short soft kiss before Jinny comes back with another that quickly ends then leads to another more passionate longer kiss. That they share Jinny’s hand tracing down the inside of his robe then back up his chest and behind his neck the other resting gently on the side of his cheek. Theodore’s hands don’t stay in one place too long he moves his hand down her shoulder, then gently and slowly ran his hand down the outside of her robe across the side of her left breast and makes his way to her mid side, and stationed his hand there the kiss continuing to accelerate.
Jinny’s hand that was behind his head now took a deeper hold her other hand slid from his cheek and now rested on his mid side almost to his back as the two faced each other on the couch. Finally having enough of this Jinny let the hold she had on him loosen as she scoots even closer then moving her leg across him as she steadied herself on his lap, her legs on each side of him. She leans forward both hands on either side of him holding her weight from him she bends her arms coming in to resume the kiss. Theodore mentioning they should move into the bedroom soon ended this with Jinny giving him a last kiss and slowly backing up off him putting her feet to the ground. She waiting for him to stand and join her before she began toward the room.
Once inside she turns standing, her back toward the bed she smiles in the moonlight that poured through the open curtain windows from the full moon tonight.
Teddy leaned down to kiss her, but instead she avoids the kiss all together, turns and moves her way on the bed, eager for him to join her.
“I see how it is.” He smiles crawling on the bed preparing to move across her to his side, but Jinny had other idea’s she reaches out and tugs on the rope on his robe. So there he was his hands and legs holding himself above her his robe had fallen open to expose his nude body over her. He glances down seeing the robe opened and looking back and her grinning face.

“Accident?” she asks innocently reaching up and pulling him down on top of her she could feel him against her meeting him in a passionate kiss. She runs her hand on the side of his head just above his ear through his hair.
Theodore gently breaks of the kiss with several short kisses before he moves slightly to the side tugging on her robe gently moving it to expose the inner part of her chest only the most inner parts of her breasts revealed. He slowly begins a line of kisses from Jinny’s lips, to her cheek, down the side of her face, then placing another on her earlobe before he continues to her neck and down slowly. He then gently places another on her collarbone before taking a little detour in his journey moving to her throat and softly kissing it making bumps arise from her body. He then begins his way down to the top part of her chest with a trail of short kisses before he runs his hands over her chest feeling her in his palms before he ran them down toward her abdomen resuming his trail of kisses down her mid chest then to each side bringing Jinny to exhale in response. His breathing was beginning to become deeper as he finished and made his way back up to her mouth tracing her lips with his tongue, Jinny opening her mouth more as she waited for Teddy to come back to her as he did his tongue entered her mouth and touched with hers as Jinny returned the gesture.
As they kissed Teddy raised his body up, reached down and undone Jinny's robe and pushed it to the sides of her as he gently layback down on her. Her warm flesh against his he could feel the beat of her heart on his stomach from hers.

They both were now beginning to breath quicker as they kissed; Jinny ran her hand down from Teddy's shoulder onto his chest. Realizing his heartbeat was speeding as quickly as hers. She was beginning to feel herself slip away as things began to heat up between them.

Teddy and Jinny walked onto the Blumenthal porch hand in hand. Teddy stopped before reaching the for the door and turned towards Jinny and said, "Mom probably has Lexi spoiled by now."
"I'm sure. I don't think your mom expected us to be gone this long though. She probably won't volunteer to do this for a while."
"I am sure mom and dad are loving every minute of spending time with their first grandchild. They even went and bought everything that you could think of to make sure Lexi is comfortable. By the way I enjoyed tonight immensely."
"So did I counselor. So did I." Jinny answers.
Theodore leans down and gently kisses her on the lips before reaching for the door handle. He and Jinny walked into the family room to see Heidi holding Lexi in the rocking chair feeding her another bottle Jinny had prepared before they came over. Jinny let go of Teddy's hand and went over to lean down and kiss Alexis on top of her head. As she straightened up she said, "How was she for you Heidi?"
"She was a perfect little angel. So how was your date tonight? Did you two enjoy yourselves?" Theodore walked over to the couch and sit down as he said, "More than you can ever imagine."
Jinny shot Theodore a look that Robert saw and laughed slightly to himself as he said, "That good huh."
"Thanks so much for watching Lexi for us." Jinny replies.

reading your fan fiction and sorry did not skip any ...you are doing a great job on it ..but have to wonders where you have read about some of the stuff that is in your fan fiction.... and I am sure you know what parts I am talking about ...Thinks you better watch your writing a little bit....But still wondering where you have came up with some of that ...

Heidi glances to her husband, "If memory serves you were pretty caught up by this precious little girl yourself honey."
"I can take her if you want?" Jinny says.
"Nonsense I have it handled. You two get to see her every day go sit down and tell us about your date."
Jinny shot Teddy a look like don't even go there. She walked over to the couch as Theodore smiled at her and said, "We had Chinese."
"Is that all?" Heidi asks.
Robert said, "I think they had fun why not leave it at that."


It was May first; Kate's mother was lying in her bed in Pam's house. Kate walked into the room and stood looking down at her mom, "Hi Mom…" she says in a whisper leaning over and gently brushing her thin gray hair from her frail face. "It's Katie." Her mother was definitely not looking good, and the doctor had informed she and her sister it was just a matter of time now. Her memory was getting worse, and she had stopped breathing in her sleep several times in the last couple months, but they always managed to get her breathing again. Although the most recent incident was last night, and it had taken the nurse longer to get her back breathing again. She was losing her mother, and a part of her life was going along with her.

“Magda…Move in with me.” Gabriel said with a smile, “I know, I know I’ve asked you before, but we’re engaged now. Please… Accept. I want You, Ben, and me to be a family.”
Mag glances back from standing in front of the open door she was just about to exit. Her hair pulled back in ponytail, she wore a pair of shorts and a t-shirt her bag over her arm. She grins and shakes her head, “You always seem to ask these things when I least expect it.”
“So how about it.”
Magda glances out the door into the hallway of her apartment building and then back at Gabe, she points out the door, “I’m just on my way out…” she begins. “Can I think about it, and let you know at dinner?”
Gabriel nods once with a smile, “Take all the time you need…” he stops and rethinks his last words, “As long as I know within the next six months.” he laughs.
“Ha, ha, funny.” She grins and leans up giving him a quick kiss.

Jinny looks up from her shoelace she was tieing and laughs at Theodore, “I know what you’re trying to do.” She says before moving her foot over and tieing the next. “It’s not working.”
“Oh?” he asks in a surprised tone.
“Don’t go playing stupid with me, Teddy.” She grins, “You’re trying to find out what I want for my Birthday. It’s not going to work.” She answers standing up and glancing at herself in the mirror across from her in the bedroom. “I don’t want anything.”
“I was no-“ He gets interrupted.
“Oh don’t forget, I made two bottles and put them in the refrigerator. I should be back, but If I’m not before those are gone…” she pauses. “Just call me if she’s getting close to finishing them.”

“I know it wouldn’t, but really…call Me.” She answers now rummaging through their closet for her racquet and her gym bag. Finally finding it she comes out of the closet, “God, we’ve got to get this place cleaned up.” Tossing the bag on the bed she walks over to the crib and look down at her sleeping 7 week old, Jinny kisses her index and middle finger and puts them to Alexis’s face gently, “Love you.” She says softly and walks over to the mirror again pulling her hair back and holding it there with a rubber band.
“What do you want for dinner?” Jinny asks picking up her bag from the bed and making her way down the small hallway of their apartment, she puts the bag back down on the desk by the door, and reaches for her coat that Theodore soon takes from her and helps her into, “I don’t know… Maybe I should go shopping while you’re out with Mag.”
She shrugs, “I’m sure we have something here we can make. So you don’t have to go out.”
“I’ll look, but I still may go to the store. So if you get back and we’re not here you know where we are.” He smiles as she turns around and leans up for a kiss.
Their lips touch once, “Mmm, that was nice.” Jinny comments with a grin and leans up for another that last for several seconds and they break it off with an embrace, “You drive safe.” Theodore says.
“I will. I won’t be gone long.” She picks up her bag and opens the door. Before she was fully out the door the sounds of Alexis’s cry came from the bedroom.
She turns and looks back into the apartment at Teddy whom was about to go and retrieve her, but before he could Jinny comes back in and puts her bag by the door and makes for the bedroom.
“Jin…” Theodore follows after closing the door, “You’ve got plans.” He says making it into the bedroom Jinny had already picked their child up and had her against her chest her head resting on her shoulder Jinny sway gently.
“I know I do, but this way I get to say goodbye.” She smiles down to the baby, “Huh, honey?” she asks the child giving her a kiss on the forehead, and transferring her over to Theodore’s arms.
She puts her hand on Lexi’s back and kisses her hand, “Bye, I love you.” She says to her and then leans up and kisses Theodore again quickly, “Bye, love ya, see you later.”
“Love you too, Bye Jin…” he answers.

C.D. stood up at the counter of the Starbucks Coffee Shop waiting for what she had ordered. The beeping of the door as someone enters didn’t bring her to look back instead she continued to wait minding her own business when there’s a tap on her shoulder and an all too familiar voice ringing out, “C.D.?”
She turns to see Paul standing beside her, “Paul…” she says solemnly.
“How are you? It’s been awhile.” He replies with a smile to her.
“Yeah, I guess it has.”
“How’s your year been?”
“Taking it just started a little over four months ago. Not half bad.” She glances away toward the woman behind the counter then back to Paul, “Yours?”
“Oh you know, same old thing. Finished a sell today.”
“Here you go.” The woman behind the counter says.
“Thanks.” C.D. turns to her and nods taking her cappuccino from her.
“Have a nice day.”
“You too.” She replies and looks back at her ex, “That’s nice, Paul.” She says rather dryly, and begins walking off toward the side of the little shop. Oh god, he was following her. ‘What the hell does he want from me?’ she asks herself.

By the time Jinny had gotten to the Gym and parked Magda was already standing out in front waiting. Walking up her bag over her shoulder, Magda waves, “Hey Jin. About time.”
“Excuse me, you’re early.” She replies stepping up on the sidewalk from the driveway.
Mag glances down at her watch, “No, you’re late, Exstead.”
“Ok ok, Mag god, Not even been off work for two months and already you’re sounding like Cap.” She pulls open the glass door of the gym and walks in, “You don’t know how scary that is.” She laughs.
Magda right behind her laughs, “Seems to me, Jin, you and Cap have been civil lately.”
“Oh please….” She replies not wanting to admit to anything. The two partners walk over toward the racquetball courts down a long hall and glances at the schedule.

“We’ve got ten minutes before one opens up.” Magda says looking at her watch.
“Enough time to get some stretches in..” Jinny says dropping her bag in the middle of the hall.
“Right here?”
Jinny glances around, “Why not? I’ve done more things in smaller places than this…” she begins looking up to Magda with a grin for a response.
“Ok ok..” Magda puts up her hands with a laugh, “Enough with your sex life.”
She scoffs, “Sex life?” she laughs, “Why do you assume I was talking about sex? I mean, for instance…” her voice drifts off as she doesn’t come up with anything.
“Yeah….I know you, Jinny.” Magda laughs putting down her bag and beginning to stretch as Jinny does.

Teddy had just laid Lexi down after feeding and changing her and stood there admiring his daughter as the phone rang. He went to get it before it woke the baby. He picked it up and said, "Hello" After a few seconds he replied, "I think I can do that shouldn't be a problem."
Theodore sat on the bed as he listened and then responded, "I am pretty sure I can get away for a little bit tomorrow."
He smiled to himself as he said, "Yeah sounds good I will hook up with you tomorrow at 2. Shouldn't be a problem." Teddy laughs and then says, "Ok see you then bye."
Once he was done with the phone call he walked back over and checked on Lexi before going to the kitchen to see if there was anything for supper. He opened the fridge and looked inside as he took a piece of paper and started jotting down items to pick up for them.


Running her hand slowly over her mother’s arm Kate says, “I’m here mom.” In a soothing voice, “I’m here.”
Her mother didn’t even give her any recognition that she was listening, but Kate kept on talking to her. Bringing up old times, she smiles, “Do you remember, when I had Amanda…” she begins.
“You were so happy.” She wipes a tear away, “The usual flashy grandmother. You took her everywhere with you whenever you had the chance…. She loves you so much, I love you so much.” There was a moment pause before the door of the room opened and Pam came in, “Hi, how is she?”
Kate glances up, “It’s so hard to see her like this.”
“I know, Katie.” Pam comes over and rests her hand on her shoulder, “I know it is…”
“She knows we’re here though.” Kate replies. “She does.”

It wasn't my fault that you wandered outside our marriage. Now if you don't mind I have to go." CD turned and walked to her car and got in as Paul watched her drive away.

Jinny and Magda were walking out of the building as Magda looks to Jinny, "I want a rematch."
"Anytime Mag, I will be glad to whoop your ass again."
"You just got lucky Jin."
"Luck had nothing to do with it Mag it was all skill."
"We will see next time."
Jinny grins shaking her head, "Name the time and place."
Magda smiled at her, "Don't be so sure of yourself."
"It’d definitely happening Mag."
“Uh-huh.” Magda answers, "On a more serious note..” she grins, “I forget to tell you Gabe asked me to move in with him this morning."
This suddenly captured Jinny’s attention, "Really what did you say?"
"Well I told him I would think about it and let him know at dinner."
"Mag please what is there to think about. The guy loves you and he is a great dad to Ben. And you two have been getting closer, so what's the problem?"
"It just isn't that easy Jin, do I want to let go of the security I have and move in with Gabe. What if it doesn't work out?"
"It’s the next logical step. If you really want to make this work Mag then that is a chance you are going to have to take."

Placing the car seat containing Alexis on the top of a near by cart in the parking lot Theodore makes sure that it’s correctly on and won’t slip or fall. Once certain he begins to push the cart through the parking lot toward Albertson’s doors, “Damn.” He says turning heading back toward the car. He forgot the diaper bag and inside was his shopping list. Once back beside the car he pulls the cart in between his car and another unlocks the door, leans in, and grabs the bag out setting it into the cart he turns back around still having a hold of the cart he locks the doors again, makes sure he has his keys, and closes the drivers side door.
Once again starting toward the Albertson’s door his cell phone begins to ring from his pocket.
“We just can’t seem to catch a break, huh.” He says down to his daughter before clicking the phone on and pressing it again his ear, “Hello?”

Still here and ready for more. Can you possibly keep me suspense another second?

“Oh hey hon.…” Teddy begins to walk again slowly toward the door, “You already finished with your game?”

“Yeah, kind of. Not exactly in the store yet.”

After a brief conversation Jinny had changed routes and was now on her way to the store to accompany Theodore and Alexis while grocery shopping, there was no use of sitting at home.
Theodore pushing the carts through the fruits section, Jinny caught site of him. He had Alexis out of her car seat against his chest as he was feeling the plums with one hand to see if they were ripe.
Coming up from behind Jinny says, “I’ll take that.” Reaching for her daughter.
“Hey, you’re quick.” He laughs transferring his daughter over to Jinny’s awaiting arms.
“How’s my girl?” she asks in a playful voice down at her daughter with a smile rubbing her back gently.
After picking various fruits out and putting each kind in a separate bag Theodore begins to push the cart out of the fruit area.
“Whoa, you sure you’ve got enough fruit there?” Jinny asks looking at the fruit.
He glances down, “You trying to tell me we don’t need it all?”
“Never.” Jinny replies with a smile reaching out and patting Theodore arm with a laugh. “We’ll eat it…eventually.”
Just about to turn a corner down the cereal aisle a blonde walks out in front of their cart. A blonde that they both knew… Jenny, Teddy’s ex-girlfriend.

“Theodore.” She grins and glances over to Jinny quickly before looking back at Teddy, “Didn’t expect to see you two together…here.” She adds in not such a friendly tone.
“Oh hey… Jenny, it is Jenny, right?” Jinny asks stepping forward bringing the blonde’s attention to her. “How are you, and your fiancé? Still together?” she asks. Jinny was just doing this in spite of the comment Jenny had made to her, to them.
“Actually, it ended a little over a month ago.” She replies.
“Ooh, I’m so sorry…” Jinny answers not the slightest bit of sympathy in her voice. She really disliked this woman. Not sure if it was the fact that Jenny and Theodore had used to be together, or if it was just the woman herself. Either way didn’t matter.
Theodore glances to both women and takes his daughter from Jinny’s arms, each movement of his being watched closely by Jenny.
“Umm…” she glances at the dark haired baby then to Theodore.
“Oh sorry… this is our daughter Alexis.” He says turning the infant around in his arms to reveal her sweet little face.
“She looks like you.” Jenny replies moving her blonde hair back over her shoulder in a sweep of her hand.
Jinny now stood aside quietly as Theodore doddled over his daughter, and talked with Jenny.
“I would have thought my mother would have told you all about her first grandchild.” He smiles down at the baby as he puts her into her car seat again upon the cart.
“So when did you two get married?” Jenny speaks up.
“Actually…” Jinny answers. “It’s in the works right now. Would you like to attend and bring a date along?”
“Are you joking? Of course I would.” She giggles slightly, “Wouldn’t miss it for the world.” She says.
Jinny couldn’t help but look away and roll her eyes, “We’d like that, wouldn’t we Teddy?” she asks glancing up at him.

Unlocking her door Magda walks into the small living room and glanced around with a sigh before closing the door and making her way toward the hall to put away her bag. Passing by Benjamin’s room she cracks the door open and peeks in, “Hey Guys!” she smiles seeing Gabriel laying across the floor his arm propping him up right as Ben sits across from him Indian style a puzzle between the two.
“Hey” Ben says glancing up quickly before going back to the puzzle.
“Hey Mag…How was the game?”
Magda smiles, “It was great to get out with Jin again. We hadn’t played since she found out she was pregnant with Alexis.”
“She beat you…” Gabriel replies.
Glancing away with a smirk she nods, “Yeah…”
Gabe laughs, “Better luck next time, babe.”
“Yea yeah..” Magda shakes her head with a laugh and begins toward her room.

A long beep came from the monitor as Kate’s mom stopped breathing.
“Mom…. Nurse…help!!” she exclaims getting up from her seat and picking up her mom’s arm. “Mom!”
The nurse came rushing over and looked at the machine then at Kate.
“What are you doing? Help her!”
The woman shakes her head, “Sorry…”
“What do you mean, sorry? She’s stopped breathing before.”
“Her heart stopped, Kate,” The nurse replies leaning over and unhooking the monitor for the sound to stop. “I’m sorry, Ms. McCafferty.”
Kate didn’t say anything but continued looking at her mother’s now lifeless body in front of her. A part of her was relieved that now her mother wasn’t suffering any longer. The other feeling was void she no longer was anyone’s little girl. Her eyes began to burn and the sight of her mother got blurred from the tears that began to escape her eyes and stream down her cheeks. Reaching up she pulls her hand across her face wiping the tears away, just for others to take their place. It was no use…

Pam came in with a cup of tea in her hand and saw the nurse unplugging the machines that their mother had been hooked to, “What happened? She didn’t…” her voice trailed off as she found the closest table and put the cup upon it moving her way toward her sister.
“Mom’s gone…” Kate manages to say between sobs.
Her sister nods as she puts her arms around her as tears began to pour.

Theodore came from the grocery store exit pushing the shopping cart, Jinny walked beside him her hand resting on the cart as they walked. Alexis on the other hand was sound asleep in her car seat.
“She’s knocked out, she must have had fun with her daddy today.” She smiles over to Teddy.
“Of course she did.” He replies, “We had father daughter bonding time.”
“Aww…” Jinny comments with a grin, “You’re out for the title ‘Father of the Year’ aren’t you?” she jokes.
“Hmm, looks like you could use a new outfit.” Teddy comments from nowhere.
“Excuse me? What’s wrong with that I have on.” She asks it not registering in her mind what he was trying to do she glances down at her workout clothes.
“No, I mean…”
“Oh wait a minute here.” She grins as they arrive beside Theodore’s car. “You’re quizzing me.”
“If only you knew how wrong you are.” Teddy replies with a sly look.
“Uh-huh, I know you…” Jinny shakes her head holding the cart as Theodore unlocks the back and begins putting the groceries in the trunk. “I have told you once, and I will tell you again. I don’t need anything.”
“Hmm, maybe a day to yourself. So you can buy whatever your little heart desires.”
“Teddy, you’ve known me how long?”
“Over a year.”
“And in that time; how many times have you known me to go shopping for the hell of it?”
He thinks then looks at her.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought…. I don’t need anything.”
“You’re getting something, Jinny.” He says leaning over and putting a bag in the trunk.
“Hmm…” she smiles. “I know something I’d enjoy.”
“And, that is?” Theodore asks standing back up right and looking to her.
Jinny raises an eyebrow and grins, “Think for yourself, I’m not giving you any hints.”

I think that Teddy's gonna get back together with Jenny. (That jerk, if he does! if he doesn't, then i still love him! lol)

Once dinner was set out along the table Gabriel, and Ben took their seats as did Magda and began to serve them selves.
“You wash your hands, Ben?” Magda asks glancing up from dishing some mashed potatoes onto her plate.
“Yep.” He nods and puts a piece of garlic bread on his plate before getting the rest of his food.
Gabriel sat quietly getting his food onto his plate.
“Mom… are we going to move in with Dad?” Ben finally speaks up.
His father looks up after he asked that with a surprised expression.
“Why don’t we discuss this af-“ he gets interrupted.
“You told him?” Magda asks looking hard at Gabriel.
“Yes, I did. I thought he deserved to know.”
“What if I was to say no? How do you think that would have affected him, Gabe?” she asks.
“But I want too…” Ben says in a whinny voice.
“See..” she motions to her son across the table.
“Wait, Does that mean you’re saying yes?”
“Yes, I am.” She smiles.
“We get to move in with Dad?!” Benjamin’s eyes widen in anticipation.
“If he’s up for the challenge,” Magda grins.
Gabriel nods with a large smile, “Consider yourself moved… I want us to be a family; a real deal family vows included.”
Ben looks up from his mashed potatoes on his plate after taking a bite of his garlic bread, “What’s vows?” he asks with a mouth full.
“Don’t talk with your mother full, and get some vegetables on that plate of yours.” Magda comments before she answers his question, “Vows are something you take and you follow by…” she says trying to explain it simply to him.
“Take like medicine?” he asks.
Both Magda and Gabriel look at each other with a laugh, “No Papi.” His mother replies.
“I want to marry your mother.”
“Cool!! Like on the movies.”
“Yeah,” Gabriel answers with a laugh, “Like on the movies, son.”
“Whoa, can Jinny go?” he asks.
“Of course she can.” Magda answers.
“How about….” His voice drifts away as he thinks, “…Can the baby go?”
“Yes.”
“Cool!!” he smiles happily. “Can you get married tomorrow?”
Gabriel shakes his head, “No not tomorrow.”
“The next day?”
“No, Ben, weddings take a little while to plan.” Magda replies.
“Ok…” he shrugs, “but I thought you were getting married not wedding.”
“A wedding is what happens when you get married.”
Taking another bite of his dinner he chews as he thinks.

Kate walked into her house putting her keys on the coffee table before collapsing on the couch. She looked at the empty house before reaching for the phone. She knew she had to let Amanda know so she could get up from LA in time for the funeral. Kate dialed her daughter's number and listened to the ringing of the phone not wanting to think about what she had to do. She heard someone say "Hello"
"Is Amanda home?"
Jill nods, "Just a minute."
After a moment Amanda asks, "Mom?"
"Hey Sweetie…” she paused for a moment, “Mandy there is no easy way for me to say this."
"What's wrong mom? You okay?" she asks concerned.
"This afternoon at your Aunt Pam's grandma passed away."
There was a moment of silence where neither said anything then Amanda speaks up, "I will pack and leave shortly. Are all the arrangements made?"
"Pam and I are going to be making them tomorrow."
"I will be there as soon as I can and Mom I love you."
"I love you to Amanda. Drive safely. Bye."
"Bye mom." She answers.
Kate hung up the phone and sat back on the couch closing her eyes trying not to think. She looked up and knew she didn't want to be alone right now. She reached for the phone and picked it up before replacing it. Kate went to the liquor cabinet and poured herself a cognac and returned to the couch taking off her shoes before downing the cognac. She finally reached for the phone again and dialed a number waiting for the person to answer.
The voice on the other line answered, "Hello"
"Are you busy?" Kate asks.
C.D. glances around her home, "No not at all. Captain what is wrong?"
"Would you mind coming over?"
"That isn't a problem I can be there in 10 minutes, but what is wrong?"
"My mother passed away this afternoon."
“Stay put Cap, I am on my way."
She takes a breath and nods, "Thanks CD."
"Don't mention it."
Kate hung up the phone and went to the liquor cabinet to retrieve the cognac as she headed back for the couch to wait for CD to arrive.

CD and Captain are gonna be best friends now! Yay! If it isn't a Jin/Cap moment, a CD/Cap moment is good enough! lol More please!

Well, not best friends, but you know Kate has always been closer to C.D. than the others. I mean if Jinny or Mag had grabbed that one guys head in 'Angel Work' Kate would have flipped a brick. Sure- she may have not SEEN C.D. do it, but rest assured if Mag or Jin did it she would have found out.......

Pulling the new pacifier that Theodore had insisted on buying at the store for the baby out of the boiling water of the pot, Jinny puts it on an awaiting paper towel to let it cool and dry as Alexis begins to cry.
Teddy was about to turn to go get her when Jinny says, “I’ll get her.” And leaves the kitchen heading for the bassinet in the living room. A short time later Jinny returns with Alexis against her, “What time is it, Teddy? I took my watch off earlier.”
“It is…” he brings his exposed arm up to check the time, his sleeve was folded up since he was preparing dinner for the two of them, “7:15”
“Thanks, not quite time to feed her yet.” She says rocking the baby in her arms that kept crying, “What’s wrong sweet thing?” she asks in a calm voice.
Still tears escaped Alexis’s eyes and rolled down her cheeks, Theodore stopped what he was doing and washed his hands off so he could try and help Jinny out with her. Taking Alexis from Jin’s arms Teddy cradled her, but still she continued to cry.
“What about the pacifier?” Jinny asks turning around quickly and grabbing it up.
“Yeah try it…”
She comes over and runs her hand over her daughter cheek and puts the pacifier in her mouth. Alexis takes a hold, and it was silent in the room. Theodore and Jinny smile at each other with a sigh of relief then all of a sudden she spits it out and begins to cry again.
“That worked for a whole two seconds.” Jinny says, takes the pacifier and tries to insert it back into her mouth, but Alexis closes her mouth tightly refusing it.
“Ok so…” Teddy begins glancing around with the crying infant in his arms.
“Is she wet? Maybe she’s wet….”
He feels her diaper, “No, she’s fine…”
“Fever?”
“No.”

Definitely first time parents! lol

“I don’t know, maybe I should feed her now.”
“Maybe…” he says trying to comfort her, “That’d be the best.” Teddy answers transferring his daughter back to Jinny. At times like this he felt so helpless, he wanted to be able to comfort his daughter, but he just didn’t know what was wrong.
Once Alexis was placed in Jinny’s arms she left the kitchen with the crying child and made herself comfortable on the couch as she lifted up her t-shirt to her nursing bra, and unfastened it. Before long Alexis was quietly eating her eyelids began to slowly close as Theodore came from the kitchen after putting the pork chops that he had been preparing in the oven, “Guess that’s what she wanted, huh?” he asks with a smile as he approaches.
Jinny glances up from running a finger gently over her baby’s cheek and smiles, “Apparently so.”
Sitting best Jin, Theodore leans over and kisses her cheek, “Dinner will be done in a little while.”
“Okay…” she replies sitting up to let Theodore put his arm around her.
They sit in silence until Alexis gradually stopped eating, Jinny takes her away, pulls the nurse bra pad up, and pulls her t-shirt back down over her.
Both parents watch as Alexis moves slightly getting back comfortable, but still asleep.
“She looks like you…” Jinny smiles over at Theodore breaking the silence.
“I was thinking the same about you.” He smiles caressing his thumb across her leg.
Jinny grins making a face, “I really don’t think so. She’s got your nose…”
“And your eyes, Jin. She’s beautiful.”

Sitting across from Kate, C.D. had gotten to her house in just under fifteen minutes, and had started talking straight away.
Kate ran her hand over her face brushing tears away, "I called Amanda a few hours ago. She's on her way up." she informed.
"That's good, Cap." C.D. replied in a soothing voice. "It'll be good for you too see her."
She nods in agreement and goes to reply, but gets cut short by the doorbell ringing.
"Could that be her?" her Inspector asks watching Kate get up.
"She's in Los Angeles, it takes longer than that to get here. I only called her..." she glances at her watch. "A little over three hours ago."
C.D. shrugs and watches her make for the door in silence. She really didn't know what else to say. Everything she could say she already had, multiple times. So the inspector sat on the sofa raking her brain for anything else she could think of to say, something that may help. Something different than what she already had. Her friend, her Captain, was in such a weak state at this moment, and she didn't know how to help.

Kate finally made it to the door after several knocks from the person on the other side. Once she opens it there stood Amanda and Jill. Her daughter had two large suitcases on the ground beside her, Jill with only a medium size black bag over her shoulder.
"Mom, we made it as soon as we could." Amanda steps into the doorway and hugs her mother running her hand over her back. "Are you okay?" she asks softly, letting go, and taking a small step back.
Tears dampened her face, her eyes were red, but still she managed a nod, and didn't refuse when Jill stepped up and gave her a quick hug to show her sympathy.
C.D. watched the scene play out before her as the two young woman brought in there bags and Kate stand aside holding the door. Once the two were inside C.D. stood from the sofa and walks into the hall near the door, and announces her departure.
"I think I will let you spend some time with your daughter."
"We caught a plane as soon as we could. I wanted to be here ASAP." Amanda says putting her arm around her mother.
Kate runs her hand over her head pushing back her hair as she nods and steps forward to C.D. and gives her a light hug, "Thanks for being here."
"Your welcome, you know that. Anytime, Cap." she smiles and lets go picking her coat up from the hanger near the door she shows herself out.

Jinny laid Lexi in her bassinet as Theodore brought the food to the table.
"Anything for me to bring in?"
"I got it under control, just yourself to the table." He answers.
Jinny walks over and leans over a pot, "That sure smells good Teddy, I kind of like it when you cook for me." She smirks glancing over to him.
"I like cooking for you, just like when we get married I will enjoy cooking for you and our kids."
"Gets me out of doing it.” She laughs, “But there you go with the kids thing again. Speaking of which did you see the look on Jenny's face when she saw Alexis?"
"I thought she was going to go into shock."

Theodore walks in carrying the pork chops with a jar of applesauce in his arms as he says, "Ha ha very funny Jin. You know what I was saying. I was just saying that if you asked her just to rub it in her face there was no need. I am not interested in anyone but you."
"Well I don't think I asked her for any purpose actually it just umm... came out before I could stop myself actually….” Theodore glances up at her giving a look.
“…Okay maybe it was to gloat. So sue me counselor."
"I love you Jin, don't ever change."


It was especially cold this morning as Kate pulled into the parking lot of the funeral home. This would be the last time she would ever lay eyes on her mother's lifeless body again. She didn't know if she was going to be able to get thru this.
Amanda put her hand on her mom's arm, "Ready to go in mom I am sure Aunt Pam, Uncle Earl, Patrick and Russell are already in side."
Kate was thankful Amanda had been there with her the last few days.
"I suppose that is the correct thing to do but I am not sure I can do this Mandy."
Amanda looked at Jill and then to her mother, "You are the strongest woman I know. You have always been there for me mom thru all the bad times and believe me there have been quiet a few, so let Jill and I help you through this today. Okay?"
Kate looked up at her daughter with a dim smile, "I would really like that."
The group got out of the car and proceeded into the funeral home to say their goodbyes for the last time.

Alexis was asleep in her bassinet as Jinny got dressed to leave for a run. With her birthday and Mother's Day approaching she had to get out to clear her mind. Jogging had always helped her when times got tough over the last year. Before finding out about Alexis her sobriety was her first priority, her main concern. Cravings for alcohol day and night had somehow been replaced by doctor’s appointments, prenatal vitamins, and thoughts of what the upcoming months had in store for she and Theodore. Not to mention she now had another life she was responsible for. It was not only her she were hurting now, but someone else: someone whom didn't ask to be there.
Now since Alexis was born the alcohol cravings still hadn't returned, and Jinny was truly grateful. Although now as her return date back to work was beginning to approach she had mixed feelings about the subject. God, she needed to get out, she thought as she leaned over and tide her shoelace. The bathroom door opened as Theodore stepped out in blue towel around his waist and made his way into the bedroom where Jinny was.
"You going somewhere?" he asks looking at her stopping by the closet door.
Sitting back upright on the bed she nods, "I've really got to get out. I was thinking about going out for a jog."
"At this hour?" he asks glancing to the window, it was dark out, but then glances down to his bare wrist. He had taken off his watch for the shower.
"It's only 8:15, Teddy." she replies, "I'll be fine."
Theodore sighs, knowing she needed some time out, but why couldn't she go during the day? "You know I don't- " he begins before being interrupted.
"I know, you don't like it...." she finishes for him, "But I've gone out later than this, and I'm fine. Tell ya what.... I'll bring mace. If someone messes with me they’ll wish they hadn’t.” she laughs.
“Okay, like I can change your mind.”
“Any other circumstance you may be able to, but right now…” her voice drifts away as she exhales and shakes her head, “I really need to think.”
“I understand, Jin.” He replies grabbing a t-shirt from the hanger, “Wouldn’t a drive be just as well?” he tries.
“Teddy, don’t worry….” She smiles standing up and pulling back her hair in a messy ponytail, but at this point in time it really didn’t matter.
“You just be careful.”
Jinny chuckles softly and walks over leaning up for a kiss. As their lips touch Jinny exhales through her nostrils. Just being with him helped, but it wasn’t enough right now. “I’ll be back soon.” She says once they part.

I knew Jinny was gonna get a little bit tired of the mom thing. I know that she loves Alexis and everything, but you know...it's a big adjustment! More please!

“Theodore, I’m a cop. I’ve been at crime scenes later at night than this. I made it through quite a few years on graveyard patrol. I’m just jogging. Don’t worry.”
“Take your cell.” Theodore insists.
“Fine, I will…” she replies leaning over and grabbing it from the dresser sticking it in her overcoat pocket, “happy?” she asks, and then reconsiders, “Don’t answer that. If Lexis wakes up before I’m back there is a bottle in the fridge.”
Teddy glances down at the carpet in the room then to Jinny, “Thanks. Stay safe.”
“Of course.” Jinny smiles and exits the room.

Feeling the cool crisp night air circulate around her as she ran down the sidewalk of the residential area she stops at a corner, and puts her hands on her hips catching her breath before she went on. Not having been jogging since having gotten large with Alexis she wasn’t in as great of shape as she thought. One car passes, then another before she begins back on her jog.
Her birthday was tomorrow, and Mother’s day was just over a week after that. It was times like this that was so hard with her mother not being here, and the fact that her mother ‘made the choice’ of leaving she and her brothers was even harder to grasp. God, she didn’t want to leave Alexis in a situation like this, ever. She had to shelter her from it, to make sure she’d be there whenever her daughter needed. Which arose the issues of returning to Law Enforcement yet again, she had thought of this frequently in the past months, but had always tried to push it away. To think about it ‘some other time’, although now the date on the calendar was beginning to approach more quickly it seemed. The last two months had flown by in a flash, and it was hard to think about being away from her daughter for 12 to 14 hour shifts that she worked at the Division. Before she had given birth she hadn’t thought of ‘not’ returning to the division. Of course she knew she’d be off a few months while Alexis was getting accustomed to the new world she had been presented with.

I made my mom a little webpage saying Happy Mother's Day with pics of my brother and I. Plus a baby picture that i faded out into the background of the page of myself, I cooked dinner, baked her a cake, and did all the dishes.

Just now… everything Magda had always mentioned about ‘needing more time with Ben’, ‘Not wanting to work long hours’, and going home to tuck him in at night when she had long shifts finally made sense. Before she had never really paid much attention to it. Figuring it was just something that ‘Magda did’. To be honest…Jinny had never thought of herself as the ‘motherly’ type. Sure, when she had been in her twenties she’d thought about children of her own when she had a steady boyfriend, but could never picture herself as a good mother or even a ‘decent’ one. Therefore, had set the thought out of her head.
“What am I going to do?” she asks herself, her ponytail bouncing each time she took a pace forward.
She had a fiancé and a daughter that was going to be two months old the ninth of this month at home waiting for her. God, it seemed so much to handle. Last year at this time her biggest problem was… finding the cheapest place to buy booze. Now, her thoughts were on ‘the future’, keeping Alexis well, keeping Theodore happy, and her biggest problem… her unsettled thoughts of not knowing whether or not to return back to her dangerous job for the sake of her daughter’s well being and sanity.
The last few months had been a wake up call, to say the least. Before Jinny had lived by one rule, to get through the day, and not focus on tomorrow until it got here. Now, she found herself planning doctors appointment, and making sure Heidi was still up for the pressures of babysitting her granddaughter day in and day out. She had definitely done a lot of maturing over the last few months, but still had managed to keep her sense of humor and personality.

Teddy laughs with the person on the other line, “Yes, I’m sure I can get away a little while tomorrow. I’m sure.” He nods at whatever was said to him, “I know I’ve got a lot of decisions to make regarding this, but it’s just not that easy. I want to keep this a secret from Jinny as long as we possibly can. Otherwise, she’d put it to an end from the word ‘go’.”
Alexis’s cry poured out from the back bedroom where she was lying alone in her crib.
Theodore quickly took the cordless phone with him into the kitchen and retrieved her bottle from the refrigerator and began to run it under the hot water in the sink.
“You know what, I have to go. The baby is crying, okay, I’ll see you tomorrow. Yeah, I look forward to it too.” He takes the phone from his ear and puts it on the counter beside him, placing the bottle in the sink the water still cascading over it he exits the kitchen heading for his upset daughter.

LOL, Yeah- I do laundry too- well my own. That's a start, right? lol I try and get around to doing the dishes up before I go to bed... Otherwise, my mom is the kind that won't ask you to do anything. Maybe straighten up the living room if you've messed it up, but besides that she doesn't ask much. I just do it on my own............my brother on the other hand is a whole different story. Let me just say I let him on my computer yesterday morning and when I sat down I had two bowls, two spoons, four glasses, an empty water bottle, and chocolate on my damn keyboard!!!!!
OK, I've vented.... now to add more fan-fiction. lol.... I wrote 3 pages last night before bed.

Her hand up supporting her head on the sofa, Magda was in a light sleep after getting Benjamin in bed 45 minutes ago, and Gabriel leaving just after that. The next few weeks were going to be physically and emotionally draining for her. Getting packed, moving, and settling into Gabriel’s house was going to be a big change from this small apartment she had had since Benjamin was two and a half.
A knock on the door jerks Magda out of sleep as she quickly gets up and makes her way to the door. She checks through the peephole and sees a familiar face, and unlocks the door opening it to her awaiting partner.
“Hey…” Jinny says in between pants, “I hope I didn’t wake you.” She adds seeing Magda rub her eyes.
“No no, come in, Jin. I had just dozed off on the couch after getting Ben to sleep. Is there something wrong?” Magda asks concerned, closing the door after Jinny was fully inside.
Jinny shakes her head, but doesn’t really say anything, “I uh…” she swallows still trying to catch her breath, “Just need to talk.”
“About what?” she asks stepping around Jinny, “You want something to drink?”
“Umm…” Jin nods, “Some water would be good, but I can get it.” She says, knowing Magda apartment rather well she walks toward the dark kitchen. Magda following closely flips on the switch bringing light throughout the room into the small living room.
After grabbing a glass from the cupboard Jinny leans over to turn on the faucet when her partner asks, “What’s up, Jin?”
She stops in mid motion leaning against the side of the sink, “My life, Mag.” She shakes her head. “I’m over my head.”
“What do you mean? Your life is looking up. You’ve got a beautiful daughter, and Theodore that adores you.”
“That’s just it….” Jinny answers.

Magda shakes her head closing her mouth, “I must be missing something.”
“Mag, I can’t do it. You know me you know I can’t. Why didn’t you tell me?”
“What are you talking about?” she asks moving to the side of Jin to see her face.
Jinny turns to look at her and runs her hands over her forehead, “Theodore and Alexis, I just can’t give them what they need.” She says putting the glass down and moving over to Magda’s table to sit. “Alexis needs someone to- to look up to.” She says her voice breaking up, “Someone to admire.”
“What are you getting to, Jin? You’re all those things.”
Jinny runs her hand over her eyes, just before a tear escapes them, “Magda, how is she suppose to look up to me? What am I? A screwed up alcoholic whom slept around, that just happened to stumble upon someone that could care about me, and whoop…I got pregnant. Which by the way was not planned.” She shakes her head, “Not to mention almost getting myself killed while pregnant with her in the first place. That is not someone a child should look up to, Magda. I’m just not fit.”
“No, Jinny…” Magda replies sitting down beside her. “Alexis needs someone that will be there for her, to care, and to love her, Jin.”
“I know, and I can’t…”
“You can!” her partner emphasizes, “You’ve been doing it for the last two months, if you hadn’t noticed!”
Jinny glances at her, but looks away. Secretly, she envied Magda for being the ‘perfect’ mother. Although having raised Ben single she had a wonderful, smart, healthy son. Magda had what it takes, she on the other hand didn’t.
“Listen to me, Jinny.” Magda breaks her thoughts; “I’ll be honest with you, I couldn’t imagine you as a mother at first, but watching you over the last few months, even before Alexis was born. I knew you’d be a great mother.” Tears were now building up in her eyes knowing how worthless her partner, and best friend must have been feeling. “I’m proud of you, Jin. Alexis couldn’t have asked for a better mother.”
Jinny flashes an uneven half smile as she glances up, “God, I love her, Mag.” She replies as she wipes recent tears away.
“I know you do, Jin. You’ve just got to trust yourself.”
“I wish it was just that easy.” Jinny answers.

Doubts, doubts, doubts!

It was a living hell, I thought Ben deserved someone better. Someone whom could give him a stable family life, but come to find out, I could. I could give him everything he needed. Look at you, Jin. Alexis has got a dad that would do anything in the world for her. Even from the beginning Theodore was so into it...”
“I get your point. You had it more roughly than I do, that what I’m feeling isn’t even half as bad as you did. That I should quit whining.”
“NO, Jinny, that’s not what I’m saying.” Magda shakes her head; “I’m trying to show you what you’ve got going for you, for your daughter.”
Pushing her mouth tightly closed trying to hold back the tears Jinny shakes her head and finally manages to say, “I know… I’m sorry,” In a quivering, voice.
“Don’t be.” Magda says putting her arms around Jinny in an embrace, “Don’t be, honey. I was just trying to show you that you’ve got a lot.”
Pulling back Jinny shakes her head, “I know I do. That’s not it. I just can’t live up to what Theodore expects from me. For what Alexis needs me to be.”
“You can, you have!” Magda reminds her yet again, “She’s beautiful and healthy, Jinny. You created her, you’ve kept her well. Seems to me you’re doing everything she needs you to do. You didn’t have to breastfeed. Believe me, I know it’s not exactly ‘comfortable’ or ‘convenient’ all the time, but you’re doing it. You’re giving your daughter everything she needs. You’ve got her a wonderful father, Jin, that’s got to count for something.”
“It’s just a matter of time…” Jinny comments under her breath.
Hearing this Magda gives a look of confusion, “What do you mean?”
“Who am I trying to fool? It’s just a matter of time before Theodore will find someone better, you know. Someone like- like Jenny.”
“Who’s Jenny?” Magda asks curiously.
“Teddy’s ex-girlfriend. She’s beautiful, blonde, rich, successful, what else could he want from a woman?”
“Apparently something wasn’t there, Jin. Or he’d still be with her, but instead…” she gets interrupted.
“But instead he’s with me, the alcoholic, dysfunctional me. He will eventually realize everything that I really am, he’ll wake up one morning and it’ll finally dawn on him.”
“What brought Jenny up all of a sudden anyway, Jinny? Why hadn’t I heard of her until now? What happened?” her partner was full of questions.
Jinny sighs, “We ran into her tonight at the store.”
“And?”
“She’s single, again, Mag.”
“So what.”
“Theodore finally can have a second chance with her.”
“How do you know he wants a second chance with her? Give him some credit, Jinny. He’s with you.”

“That had his baby, Jinny, that counts for something. He loves you for you, and besides. You’ve not drank since rehab. I think you two should talk about this.”
“I’m still an alcoholic, Mag.”
She shakes her head, “Listen to me, you and Theodore have been together, for the most part… over a year.”
Jinny nods before Magda continues, “Don’t you think he knows the ‘real’ you. He loves you for who you are, Jinny. He knows exactly who that is, and he still loves you. You’re a great person, Jinny. I just wish you knew how great of a person and friend you are.”
Her partner goes to say something, but before a word could escape Magda begins one last time, “You’re engaged. Just realize, Jinny, just realize what you’ve got right in front of you. A beautiful growing family, Theodore isn’t going anywhere.”


Kate was sitting on the couch the television on, trying to forget about the last glance at her mother earlier today. She’d never see her face again, except in pictures that she’d cherish for the rest of her life. Amanda came silently from upstairs, made her way into the living room and sat beside her mother.
“How you doing?” she asks softly as she puts her arms around her mother.
Bringing her hand up Kate rests it on her daughter’s leg and nods, “Don’t worry about me, Mandy.” She runs the tissue in her hand over her eyes, “How are you handling it?”
“God, mom, it’s a big loss. It must be 10, no one hundred times harder on you. I may not be here all the time, but I don’t think I could handle losing you, Mom.” She replies.
Her mother looks to her, “It doesn’t get easier with time…” Kate says, “But it was her time…” she manages to add.
“I know.” Amanda adds putting her other arm around the front of her mother in an embrace, “I love you.”
“I love you too, sweetie. You just remember that, always remember that.”


The apartment was silent all besides the sound of Alexis’s breath in the baby monitor that rested beside Theodore on the couch. He sat in the dark waiting for Jinny to arrive home. She’d left well over two hours ago.

Just as Alexis took another breath Teddy heard the faint noise of keys outside the door and got up quickly, and opened the door to see Jinny standing there her face dampened with sweat from her jog home her eyes reddened from her crying.
“Hey, I was ready to call a cop or something.”
“I’m fine.”
“It doesn’t look like it.” He replies standing in front of her.
“I just… need to think about some things.”
“Like what?”
She looks away, “It’s a long story.”
“Does it look like I’m going anywhere?” he asks glancing back into the dark apartment, “I’m here for you, Jinny, no matter what.”
Not looking back up to him she says, “I know.”
He notices something is not right and asks, “Why’ve you been crying?”
Jinny still standing in the hall just outside the door the light shining from behind her, she shakes her head, “It’s just….”
“Just what?”
“Can I, uh, grab a bottle of water, and then we can talk?”
Teddy only nods and moves out of the door way and closes the door once she’s inside, makes his way to the lamp in the corner of the room and turns it on. Casting a soft light across the room.
Once coming from the kitchen Jinny announces she has to check on Alexis, and heads down the hall leaving Theodore alone in the silent living room. After a couple moments he could her Jinny whisper a ‘I love you’ to the infant in the baby monitor, and a short time later she reappears in the living room.
“So…” Teddy hesitates looking up to her. “What’s bothering you?” he finishes as Jinny sits on the couch beside him.
She takes a breath and looks at him, “Can I, I just need to ask you a question first.”
“Sure, anything.” He replies in a soft voice not knowing what was coming next.
Jinny squints her eyes as she shakes her head to him, taking a breath she asks, “How do you do it?”
“Do what?” Theodore asks, trying to figure out what she meant.
“Make being a daddy seem so easy.”
He exhales looking at her and gently shrugs with a shake of the head, “All I know, Jin, is that I love you, and I love our little girl in there.” He pauses, “It’s not always easy, but I do the best that I can.”
“God, you’re so good at everything you do.”
“What’s this all about?” Theodore asks leaning forward and putting his hand on her shoulder, “What’s going on? You left here tonight and said you had to think. Now you come home over two hours later, crying.”
“I stopped by Mag’s, I’m sorry… I should have called.”
“Yeah, you should have, but I want to know what’s wrong, Jinny. If I’ve done something to upset you?” he questions.

Must you stop there?! I'm stressed at the moment and this fic is great to read and relax over, but if you keep leaving me hanging like this, Miranda, it'll just add to my rising blood pressure and that's not safe. Please consider my well being when considering whether or not you should post more;)

Jinny puts up her hand to him to motion him to stop, “You two…” she shakes her head no longer able to keep the tears away, they burnt her eyes and ran down her cheeks, “Are the most important thing in my life. Up until you…”
Theodore scoots closer to her and puts his arms around her, “Jin…” before he could continue he’s interrupted.. “Up until you… the ‘most important thing’ in my life.” She mocks herself a smile of disbelief as she shakes her head. So ashamed of her past, “Was good ‘ole Jack Daniel and Brandy.”
“Jin, Jinny, that’s behind you now. Behind us.”
“That’s the thing…” she interrupts again, “I hurt you. Someone I loved, someone that I love…I can never take that back. Theodore, I drank when I was pregnant!”
“You d-“ he wasn’t getting a word in edge wise.
“Sure, Alexis came out fine. She’s perfect, but the ‘ifs’, Theodore, the regret will always be there. I could have killed her, I could have killed us.”
“Jinny, if you had known.”
“It probably wouldn’t have made a difference, Theodore.” She replies bluntly, she reaches up and pushes the tears away with her hand, “If something… if one little thing was wrong with Alexis caused by my drinking.” She shakes her head, “I don’t think I could have lived with myself.”
Teddy was silent for a moment remembering back to who Jinny used to be, “But nothing happened.”
“And now…” Jinny shakes her head moving her hands in front of her she begins again, “Now that Alexis is born and she’s healthy. I don’t know if I want to cause her any more pain.”
“I don’t follow, Jinny. Alexis has you, you’re a great mother.”
“That’s the thing… I don’t know if I can be a good mother.” She pauses, “Especially if I go back to work.”
The two sit for a moment in silence. Theodore nods finally grasping what had brought this situation on, “You don’t want to go back to work?” he finally asks in almost a whisper to her.
“My mom…” Jinny swallows, “She killed herself 6 months before my fifteenth birthday. I was fourteen.” She shakes her head, Theodore puts his hold around her back tighter, “Jinny, you don’t have to…”
“Yes, I do have to.” She answers, “This is something I’ve got to do.”

Wait, she has to....... what? More please!

“I grew most of the way up without my mother… That hurts every day of my life. I used to drink to get rid of the pain and guilt that came along with her death. Except now… I don’t have the alcohol to give me that sense of relaxation to let me forget even for five minutes. This guilt stays with me all day long, everyday… The questions, wanting the answers.” She sinks further into her seat, “I can’t do that to Alexis… I can’t let her grow up without a mom.”
“Alexis is going to grow with you, Jinny, with us. You’ll always be here for her.”
“I can’t guarantee that…”
“You can’t guarantee it even if you don’t return to work, Jin. Life is not free of surprises. You love your job. You’ve got to do what’s going to make you happy.”
“God, does it ever get any easier? I’m faced with all these- these decisions these thoughts, none of them easy to answer. I have a month left before I go back to work. Then what is going to happen to Alexis?”
Theodore exhales, “Jin, you know she’s going to be staying at Mom’s.”
“I know, but… what if something happens while I’m on the job.” She shakes her head, “I can’t leave her with the void I have, Teddy.”
“Jinny, you’ve been doing this kind of work, how long? Nothing has happened… you’re fine. I mean, you could quit your job and get hit by a car tomorrow. Just because you’re out of Law Enforcement doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t get hurt, Jin. Just continue doing what you always have.”
“You think?”
“Yes, I do. Let me ask you something…” his voice was now low and calm as he talked to her, “Do you like your job? Do you enjoy putting away bad people? That some day could influence your daughter the wrong way?”

Because I can tell you that it wasn't your fault. I bet your mom loved you so much. I don't have all the answers but if you will let me, I will help you get past the pain and guilt. You can come to me anytime. You know that.”
Jinny shook her head looking to the floor, “I know, thank you.” She finally says.
“Now tell me something about your Mom. We can pass the happiness down to our daughter.” He smiles gently to her a single tear escaping his eye and running down his cheek. Theodore hated to see Jinny like this, “I bet you look a awful lot like her.”
Finally Jinny looks over to Theodore, “You really want to hear about my mom?” she asks still upset, but surprised. For so many years she couldn’t share anything about her mother to anyone. The mentioning of her had upset everyone in the Exstead Household.
“Of course I do.” He hugs her gently.
She looks away deep in thought as she begins, “We used to go camping quite often...”
“Jin, do you like camping trips? Because, you know, if you do… We could try it as a family. I’ll warn you. I’m not much of an outdoorsman, but I could learn.”
She glances at him, “Only if you want.”
Teddy nods with a smile, “So go on… tell me about some of these camping trips with your mom.”

Jinny relaxes in Teddy arms in the dimly lit living room, “I remember… this one time.” She smiles to herself remembering, “Dad, John Jr., and Casey had gone fishing. I was supposed to have went with, but I hadn’t been feeling the best that day so I passed… My mom was making dinner for when they guys returned. We were talking; you know…” she brushes tears away, “About how she and my dad meet. Mom was so good at keeping us all grounded and together.” Jinny smiles, “S- she used to read us stories when we were little, and always had that- that way of making you feel better when you were sick.” She sits up a little on the couch and looks at him, “You know, Theodore…” she begins before she reaches up and wipes her face dry with her long sleeve, “This is the first time I’ve really talked about Mom since she died. My dad just didn’t allow it. As if if we didn’t say anything it would just go away.” She shakes her head, “It just doesn’t work that way.” More tears escaping from her. “God, how I wish it did.”
Teddy looks at her, “Jinny, I love you. I want to know everything there is to know about you… Your past included.”
“I’m really lucky…” she replies.
“How so?”
“Who knew, my saying yes to one drink, would change my life forever?” she pauses, “For the better.”

Magda lay in bed in the dark Ben had gone to bed, and hadn’t even gotten up to get water like he usually did trying to extend his bedtime like most kids. She couldn’t get Jinny’s visit tonight out of her head. It killed her to see Jinny so upset. She hadn’t felt so bad for her partner since the night of the Intervention had taken place, but good did come out of that. Hopefully what she had said to her was the right thing, she couldn’t stand to think of Jinny being so down.
“It must have really been getting to her” Magda thought to herself. “She hardly ever admits to anything. Especially what she had tonight.”
After several minutes Magda finally assured herself she’d call Jinny tomorrow morning. If the baby hadn’t been born yet she would have called right now, but she didn’t want to wake her. She just wanted to know how Jin was doing. If she had gotten home alright

He shakes his head, “No, not really…” he begins in a soft voice, “I mean, yeah I dated her. We were never engaged. To tell you the truth, it had began with doing a favor.”
Jinny studied his features in the shadows, “The way she talked at your birthday. I thought otherwise.” She shook her head, “She told me that night I ‘Didn’t have anything to worry about’.” She mocks.
“You don’t.”
“That’s not the point, Teddy. She came off like she could take you right away with the snap of her fingers.”
“Nothing could be further from the truth. Then or now, Jin.”
“I told her I wasn’t worried.” Jinny adds with a slight smile.
“I can just see you saying that.” He replies scooting toward her.
“I couldn’t let her think she was getting to me, now could I?” she pauses and glances down then back to Teddy, “I shouldn’t have invited her to the wedding though. I just…”

Before letting Jinny answer he comes back in for another kiss, "I'm glad you agree." He says after he breaks it off.
She laughs softly, "Who says I agree?"
Teddy caresses his thumb gently over her arm and kisses her neck once then again, "How about a little incentive?" he asks.

Today was Jinny’s birthday. She rolls over in bed reaching over to feel Theodore beside her, but he wasn’t there. So she brings her hand back and runs it over her face figuring he must be in the living room with the baby, but as Alexis begins to cry from her crib she realizes her assumption was wrong.

OMG! Where is Teddy at? I bet that he has some sort of surprise up his sleeve!

“I’m coming.” She says out loud after a couple cries. “Coming…”
Once at her daughter’s crib side she smiles down to her, “Good morning…” she says in a morning voice leaning over and picking her up.
“You hungry?” she asks in a whisper kissing Alexis’s little head, “Yeah, I think you are.” She adds with a smile walking over toward the rocking chair, but a note on the bed brings her attention away from her daughter for a moment.
Her mouth gets dry as she looks across the room at the folded paper on the bedside. ‘Maybe I shouldn’t have admitted everything last night’ she thinks glancing down to her daughter and inching toward the paper, her daughter crying all the way… “Shh…shhh” she says as she sits down on the bed and reaches out for the paper. Taking a breath she opens it and reads:

I went out to tend to some errands. Be back soon…

Reading the note several times over her heartbeat slows as she leans over and drops it on the nightstand to tend to her upset daughter.

Pulling up to the sidewalk of Benjamin’s school Magda glances in the rearview mirror to her son in the back seat, “You got everything?”
He nods, “Yep!”
“Okay, you have an nice day, Papi. And your dad will be waiting right outside to pick you up.”
“Yeah, I know!”
“What, did he tell you?”
“Uh-huh.”
She looks at him and shrugs as the bell rings, “Better go before you’re late. See you later.”
“Okay..” he leans up giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before opening the door and getting out.

Okay here's some more before I head to bed. I just wrote quite a lot so I figured I'd post some. :)

The Division was for the most part quiet this morning besides for an occasional phone ringing and the soft chatter of the officers. C.D. sat at her desk going over some witness statements pertaining to her recent case as Kate comes out of her office, “C.D.” she motions to her and then walks back in and around her desk to sit.
The inspector soon appeared in her doorway, “Yeah?” she asks.
“Come in…” Kate motions to the seat across from hers.
C.D. nods, closes the door and does what she was told.
“Now that Angela is gone, I’ve been looking for you a new partner.”
“Déjà vu.” C.D. replies leaning back in her seat.
“I realize you and Angela were beginning to work rather well together, and I’m sorry it had to all change.”
“Not your fault, Captain. So… who’s my new partner? You got a name?”
Kate’s eyes linger on C.D. for a moment longer before she pulls on her glasses and looks down to the paper in front of her, “Nathan Basso. He has mostly worked in vice.”
“Uh-huh, so when does he start?”
“Within the next week…” Kate answers.
C.D. glances down then back up, “Okay… is that all?”
“That’s it…”
The inspector nods, gets up, and heads to the door about to exit.
“C.D.” Kate says before she could fully leave, “I’m sorry about Angela.”
“Don’t worry about it.”

Jinny still in her robe she fills the baby bath up partly with water. She then begins to undress Alexis to give her, her morning bath. Taking off her daughter’s little nightclothes Jinny was about to undo the diaper when she hears a noise in the living room.
“Theodore?” she calls out, but doesn’t get any response. “Teddy, that you?” Jinny asks again, but still nothing.

“Come on babe.” She says softly picking her daughter up to her and holding her close as she makes her way down the hall and cautiously into the living room. If she hadn’t had the baby home with her it wouldn’t have been any big deal, but since she did she took extra precautions. There was nothing there, but just as she turns to go back to the bathroom before the baby’s bathwater gets cold she hears the same noise outside her door so she walks over. Looking through the peep-hole she sees Theodore on the other side studying his key and then tries it in the door again. As he does so Jinny unlocks it, and opens it.
“Hey…” she says with a small smile.
Seeing Jinny in her robe and hair dangling he says, “Hey There, sorry did I wake you?”
“No no, I was about to give Alexis a bath.”
“I can take over now.” He says taking off his coat and rolling his sleeves up reaching for his daughter. “Hey there, there’s daddy’s little girl!” he coos taking his daughter in his arms.
“Thanks…” Jinny says as she runs her hand over her head pushing her hair back.
Once getting a bottle of water from the refrigerator Jinny makes her way back down the hall and leans against the doorway to the bathroom. Theodore had already shed the baby’s diaper and had her in the warm bathwater.
“You were up early today.” She comments.
“Yeah, sorry I didn’t want to wake you.”
“No, I uh… was just surprised you weren’t home. That’s all.” She admits taking a sip of water.
“Yeah, I had some stuff to do. Also, um you think we could drop by the Station a little later?”
“Sure, for what?”
“I’ve got to grab some papers for the Highland Case in the next few weeks.” He replying taking the sponge and squeezes the water over Alexis’s round tummy as she cracks her first real little toothless smile that both parents see.

Thanks Guys! Thanks for being so understanding, ks. ;) LOL... I'll admit sometimes I do purposely mean to leave it off in certain spots. lol....BUT not always. Sometimes the 'good' parts just come at a bad time when I have to cut it short or I will never stay ahead. I wrote three pages last night and Jeanie wrote quite a few pages so far today. Therefore, I can post a few times. :)

“You see that?” Teddy grins and looks back at Jinny.
“Yeah I did!” she answers quickly with a smile and walks further into the bathroom putting her water on the sink going over to her baby all the while thinking ‘She smiled on my birthday’, but doesn’t say a word about it out loud.
“That was the first time, wasn’t it?”
“Yeah, it was.” Jinny assures, “You smiled baby girl.” She plays with her daughter’s wet foot.
“She’s growing up so quick!” Teddy smiles and kisses Jinny’s cheek. He was so proud, “I can’t believe we were both her for her smile.”

Later on in the Division Jinny stood holding her daughter near Magda’s desk.
“So you’re finally taking the plunge.” She comments with a laugh.
“Yeah, and if you can believe it. We’ve already set a date.”
“Wow, working pretty quick there, Mag.” Jinny replies as her daughter begins to get restless in her arms, “I’ve been engaged since December, and still haven’t set a proper date.” She says glancing down to her daughter.
Kate comes from her office, “Hey Jinny.” She comments walking over and looking down to the baby whom was getting aggravated in Jin’s arms, “Mind if I?” she motions to the infant.
“I’ve got her,” she says trying to comfort the baby.
“I know, but I’d like to hold her…”
Jinny glances to Magda whom looks encouragingly back, “Okay, Cap.” Jinny says reluctantly. She then transfers her daughter to Kate’s arms. “Just watch her head.”
“Jinny, I have a daughter. I know what I’m doing.” Captain replies.
Jinny watches Kate’s every movement as she walks back into her office and sits back down behind her desk with the infant.
C.D. turns around after noticing Captain with the baby; “I didn’t know Cap had it in her.” She comments.
“Yeah, you’re tellin’ me.” Jinny says in disbelief herself. “With my daughter of all people.”

Her tough exterior is slowly caving in. LOL, and to think it is Jinny's daughter she is sitting there holding and loving on. Sheesh, just makes me want to smile:D

Her partner laughs, “Jin, she is entitled to that much. She may be our Captain, but she is human.”
“Could have fooled me.” She jokes glancing back toward the office checking on her daughter. Kate was holding the baby next to her in silence.
About five minutes later Jinny was sitting at her desk her desk drawers open and an address book she had taken from her desk drawer opened on her desk, “I guess I could just go upstairs and see if Teddy is ready to go.” She comments pushing through pages in the small book trying to find his new work number.
“What about his cell?” Magda asks glancing up from her work.
Pushing her hand in her pocket she pulls his cell phone out, “I forgot mine.”
“Good one.”
“Yeah I know…” she laughs, glancing back at Captain whom was now playing with Alexis’s little feet. Jinny leans over in her chair to check to see if she brought an extra bottle in the diaper bag that was sitting in Alexis’s car seat beside her desk.
In this time Amanda makes her way through the Division door with Jill close behind.
“Hey Amanda.” Magda says as they pass her desk.
Jinny turns slightly around, “Hey.”
Amanda smiles to them both, “Hey Guys.” She says making her way to her mother’s office. “Whose baby is that?” she asks.
“One of my Inspectors.” Kate replies glancing up from the cooing infant.
“You babysitting now too?” Amanda laughs and takes a seat and Jill next to her.
“Actually she’s Jinny’s.” as Captain says that Jinny arrives in the doorway, “You know what, I can take her now, Cap.” She says.
“Sure…” Kate says handing the baby to Jinny after she arrives beside her. Once Jinny had Alexis and was back seated having a casual conversation with Magda about her upcoming wedding Kate glances from Amanda to Jill, then back to her daughter, “I didn’t expect to see you guys here.”

“Actually, Mom, we’ve decided to head back to LA a little early. Jill hasn’t been feeling well.”
“Then maybe she should see your old doctor, here.” Kate replies.
“No, that’s kind of what we wanted to talk to you about.”
“Someone enlighten me, I am not following you.”
Amanda looks to Jill then back to her mother, “Mom, Jill is pregnant!!” she grins with one clap of her hands to show her excitement.
“Pregnant?” Kate asks.
“Yeah, once we got back to Los Angeles in March Jill’s dad had got us a new place and stalked it with food.”
“Thoughtful.” Her mother nods, “I don’t see how this all ties in with having a child.”
“We are so happy about this mother.” Amanda answers, “With the money we borrowed from you plus a little more, we got Jill pregnant, you’re going to be a grandma!!”
Hearing the word grandma Magda, Jinny, and C.D. look toward Kate’s office surprised.
“Amanda, this seems all too familiar.” Kate replies still surprised and a little upset, “Last month you were asking me for money for rent and groceries, for goodness sakes.” She pauses, “This month you’re telling me… I’m going to be a grandmother, and I just happened to have paid for it.”
Amanda’s smile fades as she studies her mother’s reactions, “I should have known.” She says angrily.
“What?” her mother asks.
“That you wouldn’t be happy for us! I shouldn’t have even told you.” Amanda gets up, “Come on, Jill. We’re on our way back to Los Angeles, don’t expect a call.”
“Amanda…” her mother says standing up from her seat.
“Bye Mom.” Amanda says storming out Jill right along side her.
Jinny turns and watches the two women leave looking at her partner and mouths, “Oooooh.”
Magda just shrugs and glances into Cap’s office right before Theodore comes in, briefcase in and and walks over to Jinny, “Ready to go?”

Thank you so VERY MUCH! You momentarily eased my mental state. Of course now that Amanda has stormed out and Theodore has arrived I picture Jinny going to talk to Cap but I won't know if that happens or not because I must go work-UGH.

Reluctantly I leave thee in hopes ye will post a lot more for me to read at whatever unearthly hour I decided to get on early tomorrow morning. I hope ye have a nice trip, Miranda, but please leave a lot for Jeanie to post or something because I will need more. This fic keeps the coffee in check.


...8 more school days and then I'm free...until then the teachers are pushing me to the breaking point...let's see who can hold out the longest...I have a feeling it's the teachers...I'm crumbling as we speak...

Once arriving back home Theodore was leaning over the crib placing his sleeping daughter inside. After her turns and makes his way into the kitchen where he sees Jinny leaning over looking into the refrigerator. She had already gotten back down to her original size clothes since Alexis has been born. The weight had just slipped away quickly soon after the birth, but Jinny still insisted she had ‘baby fat’ as she called it.
“You hungry? I can make lunch…” Teddy speaks up.
Jinny looks over the refrigerator door at him, “No it’s okay.”
“Yeah, you should probably be packing anyway. Since Alexis is asleep.”
“Packing?” she asks giving him a look, “For what?”
“Well, since we never did get to go away to Napa Valley. I thought what better time to take you away for the weekend than your Birthday?”
“My Birthday.” She says under her breath shaking her head with a slight smile.
“What? You didn’t think I forgot did you?”
“To be honest, I wasn’t sure, but…” she shakes her head, “There’s too much to get arranged, and we don’t have the money between buying diapers and food.”
“Taken care of. They’re expecting us tonight, and don’t worry about the money. I’ve got it covered.”
“You’re joking…” Jinny cracks a smile, surprised, tucking her hair behind her ear.
“Nope, everything is arranged at the ‘Napa Valley Lodge’. They’re expecting us there before 8 o’clock tonight.” Teddy smiles.
“Wow, you’re just on top of everything, aren’t you.”

And Alexis @ Grandmas? MORE PLEASE! I need it after tonight!

He shrugs at her, “I try my best.”
“Don’t you need to pack too, or does Mr. Amazing have that done already?”
“That is actually the minor detail I have no yet accomplished.” Theodore answers.
“Oh my, how could you slip so far behind.” She laughs.

Kate was on the phone in her office. She’d tried Amanda’s cell phone number numerous times, but it was no use. Her daughter was too stubborn to talk, and had shut off her phone on the ride back to Los Angeles. Leaving her mother in San Francisco, alone, motherless, and filled with questions.
“God, Amanda, what have you gotten yourself into this time.” Kate says to herself putting the phone back on its cradle yet again. “Me a grandmother,” she thought shaking her head hoping that this wasn’t just another one of Amanda’s sudden impulses. A child was forever. No matter if she and Jill stayed together or not. Amanda would have a forever responsibility to it, and deep down she wasn’t sure if her daughter could handle so much. After all she could hardly keep her life in order, never the less a brand new baby that was going to need love, a stable environment, and responsible parents to guide it wherever that may lead. Now that Jill was officially pregnant there wasn’t any turning back, and Kate just hoped a baby would help Amanda grow up and become aware of everything in this world. It wasn’t just hitchhiking from car to car; this was the long ride, the real thing.

After getting all packed for their weekend alone in Napa Jinny had convinced Theodore that he no longer had to carry everything and do everything for her. She was no longer 8 months pregnant and could now do everything she had been able to do before the baby had arrived. Therefore, both Theodore and Jinny had taken turns getting their luggage out into the car. One being in the apartment at all times with Alexis.
“So that’s it…” Theodore asks as Jinny walks back into the opened door of the apartment.
She nods closing the door, “Yep, everything is set. I probably should call Casey just in case he tries to get a hold of us. It’d probably be nice to let your parents know too.” Jinny adds.

The cell phone that was lying on Magda’s desk began to ring. Which was unusual unless it was Benjamin or a member of her family trying to get a hold of her. Not knowing who it was she got a weird feeling as it rang, finally she leans forward grabs it and looks at the number printed on the Called ID; it didn’t look familiar.
Pushing the talk button she brings it to her ear, “Hello?… Hi.” Magda fell quiet as she listened to the person on the other line.
“Is he- are they okay?” she asks her voice suddenly turning panicky which catches C.D.’s attention. She turns around in her seat and watches Magda concerned.
“Yeah…I’m on my way. I’m coming. Tell them!” she says quickly and nods hanging up the phone, already standing up. She goes to grab her coat then rethinks this and heads to Captain’s office, “I’ve got to go, Ben and Gabe’s been an accident.”
Kate looks up concerned, “Go, get out of here. I hope everything is okay.”
“Thanks Cap.” She says turning around quickly grabbing her coat from her chair and exits the Division.
Once in the parking lot Magda unlocks her car quickly and drops herself into the seat, her hands shaking, and tears streaming down her face. She was worried, the hospital wouldn’t give her any details about neither Gabe nor Ben over the phone. ‘It’s going to be bad’ she thought to herself pulling out her cell phone and pushing speed-dial to Jinny’s number.

“Okay, Magda, listen to me. I will be there soon!” Jinny says holding the phone. Teddy had come over near Jinny to see what was going on, Alexis in his arms.
“Ok, honey, you just got. I will get there ASAP, ok? Everything will be fine… Don’t worry about it, Mag. I will be there soon!!” with that she hung up the phone and turns to Theodore.
“Benjamin and Gabe have been in an accident.”
“Then we’ve got to get to the hospital.”
Jinny shakes her head, “No, you’re going to Napa.”
“What? No, It’s your birthday, Jin!” he replies back. “We can just reschedule.”
“Teddy, just go…” Jinny looks at him seriously, “Take Alexis and just go. There’s enough bottles to last her until I meet up with you there later. It’s an hour drive; I will be there as soon as I find out how Ben and Gabriel are. I’ve got to be there for Mag.” She shakes her head, “I will meet you there.” Her voice softens then she leans forward gliding her hand over her daughter’s head and kisses her forehead, “I love you.” She says softly before looking back up at Theodore, “Just go, okay?”
He shakes his head, “I don’t like it. I should be here.”
“I know, but I will meet you there.” She assures and grabs her keys from the side desk she turns to leave then turns back around, “You drive safely, okay? Drive slowly. There’s no need to try and get there fast. Drive safely.”
“I will, Jin. You do the same.”
She nods, “I love you.”
“I love you too.” Teddy smiles to her.
Everything was happening so quick, one minute she was on her way to Napa Valley with her daughter and fiancé, then all of a sudden a phone call changed all that leaving her to worry about not only Gabriel and Ben, but Theodore and Alexis’s drive to Napa. She wipes a tear from her cheek and walks back over to Teddy leaning up they share a quick kiss, “I love you” Theodore says again.
“I love you too.” She replies touching her daughter’s hand and holding it as she gives her another quick kiss before she was out the door heading for the hospital.

Jinny comes rushing into the hospital entrance, Magda catches glimpse of her and walks toward her.
“What’s going on?” Jinny says concerned. “Have you found anything out?” she asks quickly before the two even meet up together.
“Ben is fine…” Magda exhales.
“How’s Gabe?”
“He’s in X-ray.”

Oh well, I guess that I'll just have to entertain myself for two weeks and maybe begin the works of a new fic of my own, if I ever get time.

We came home early because my brother was having a hard time with his breathing. His asthma really acts up in Atascadero because there's lots of trees and animals!!! It's so weird to go back there... I mean there's farm animals etc there (example: cows, goats, horses) Where I live you don't see those kinds of animals!! lol You see asphalt, cars, trucks, airports, big buildings, and lots of bright lights. It's freaky to go back there... Since we've been back my brother hasn't had to use his inhaler- so far so good. :)

Jinny nods, “Have you got to see Ben?”
Her partner shakes her head, “I just got here a few minutes ago, that’s all they told me.”
“God, he’s your son, Mag…” Jinny answers, “They should let you see him.” She says walking passed her up to the desk.
“Excuse me…” Jinny says hitting the surface of the counter with the palms of her hands to get the nurses attention that had their backs to her, “What room is Benjamin Herrera in?” she asks Magda arriving beside her, “Jin…”
Her partner ways her hands in a motion to tell Magda to hush up as the nurse turns and shakes her head, “Sorry, I can’t tell you. He should be allowed visitors in a couple minutes if you’d just sit over there.”
Jinny shakes her head not amused, “That’s not good enough.”
“Well it’s going to have to be,” The nurse replies.
“I think I can do better… ” Jinny says taking her badge out and flashing it, “Inspector Jinny Exstead.” She comments, “Now that I’ve gotten your attention my partner here.” She turns to Magda, “Is Ben’s mother, and we’d like to see him…now.”


Theodore had gotten Alexis situated in the back seat in her car seat and closed the door. Once sitting in the drivers seat he takes inventory, making sure he had gotten everything. Enough diapers, the bottles Jinny had left, all the suitcases, etc. Once satisfied that he had picked everything he needed from the apartment up he seatbelts himself in and puts the key into the ignition and starts the car.
“And we’re off.” He says gently to his daughter pulling out of his parking spot in the driveway.

After several minutes of working in silence C.D. couldn’t stand it any longer and gets up from her desk and walks over to the entrance of Kate’s office knocking on the opened door.
Captain glances up over her glasses from the paper she was reading.
“Any word?”
She shakes her head, “Nothing as of yet.”
“I hope they’re okay.” C.D. replies.

I already posted this on the main boards, but WE MISSED YOU SOOO MUCH!!!! I was going into withdrawal again. It was awful Miranda! lol Now...you can post more!

Sorry I havent been posting lately. This weekend Jeanie and I are going to write so then I'll be posting more frequently like I usually do- again. :)

“I should be getting a call anytime, but frankly, I’m just as worried about you.”
The inspector gives her a look, “What do you mean?”
“I think you know what I mean, C.D. There’s something wrong, call me perceptive.” She cracks a smile.
C.D. reaches up and runs her hand over her face with a shake of her head, “I’m fine.” She nods trying to reassure herself.
Kate nods once not believing a word she was saying, “Well, the door is open anytime.”
“Thanks, Cap.” She nods keeping her tough exterior and turns around heading for her desk. In reality nothing was right… her divorce was emotionally draining her, and her life over the last few months had been constant ups and downs. She didn’t know if it was ever going to straight out.

Ben was sitting up on the examining table, Jinny, Magda, and the doctor all in the room.
“Usually I don’t work with so many people in the room,” The doctor comments.
Jinny gives a look getting what he was trying to say, “Really? Because I always thought when doctors work they had nurses around.” She shrugs, “At least I’d hope they have someone around to fix their mistakes.”
Magda smirks slightly as the doctor looks over from putting some bandages on a few cuts of Ben’s with a look.
“Ouch!” Ben jumps and exclaims as the doctor put some medication on a cut before he puts a bandage on it. Magda ran her hand over his forehead trying to comfort him, “You’re okay, Papi.”
“And that, sweet boy, is why you wear seats belts.” Jinny comments.
“I was.” Ben defends himself.
“I know you were.” She smiles.
Magda nods, “Otherwise you could be a lot worse… god forbid.”
“How’s Dad?”
“He’s still in X-ray, sweetie.” His mother replies.

The phone rang in Kate’s office she quickly leans over and answers it, “San Francisco Police Department, this is Captain McCafferty.”
“Hey Cap, it’s Magda.”
“Ooh Magda, how are they?”
Magda nods with a satisfied smile, “Ben has some bumps and bruises, and Gabriel has two bruised ribs.”
Kate nods with a bit of an exhales, “That’s great. I’m glad everything turned out for the best.”
“So am I, Cap, so am I,” Magda replies.

The sun was still in the sky as Theodore drove passed the welcoming sign into Napa Valley the town was as beautiful as ever. He just wished Jinny was there right now to share it with her. It was now around 5:00 p.m., he had just stopped not too far back to change his daughter. She now lay peacefully sleeping in her car seat in the back seat as he drove. This being her first real trip she had slept most of the way. Now that the car was quiet except for an occasional deep exhale from Alexis; Teddy couldn’t help but wonder how everything was going back in San Francisco. Pushing his right hand into his coat pocket he pulls out his cell phone.

Jinny came back from the cafeteria carrying two coffees and a pop for Ben. She rounded the corner and headed for the waiting room that they had found outside the emergency room. As she neared the waiting room her cell phone started ringing. She maneuvered the tray containing the drinks while she pulled the cell phone out looking at the caller id she noticed it was Teddy as she answered, "Hey"
"So how is Ben and Gabe?" Theodore asks straight away.
Jinny walked into the waiting room and handed the tray to Magda "Ben has some bumps and bruises and Gabe has two bruised ribs."
"That's good no one was seriously hurt. How is Mag?"
"She is doing better, once she found out every one is going to be fine."
Jinny sat down next to Mag as she took her coffee.
"Thanks, Jin." Magda says to her partner.
"Anytime."
"We just arrived in Napa Valley I wish you were here to see this." Teddy spoke up.
"I will be there soon enough. I take it the drive was uneventful. Did Lexi sleep the whole way?"
He nods, "I only had to stop once to change her. She slept most of the way. When are you going to be leaving Jin?"
"Pretty quick now that things are all right. I thought I would leave in the next 15 minutes."
"Well I am going to check in and get Lexi settled into her new setting. I will be waiting for you to get here. Call me when you hit Napa and I will give you directions to get to this place."
“I will and give Lexi a kiss for me."
"Drive safely and Jin I love you."
"I will and I love you to."
Magda smiles at hearing Jinny's conversation with her fiancé as she looks over at her own son realizing just how luck they had been this afternoon.
Jinny had just got off the phone when Magda asks, "So what is that all about?"
Jinny looked at her, "Well Theodore kind of made arrangements out of town for us."
"Oh Jinny I forget it was your birthday today. So Teddy is taking you out of town for the weekend?" she grins.
"Yes and that is all you are getting Mag."
"I want details Jinny."

Seeing Jinny stand from he seat Ben asks, "You leaving Jinny?"
"Yes I have to go Teddy and Lexi are waiting on me. I am glad you are okay there sweet boy."


Kate walks out of her office without saying a word and comes over to the side of C.D.’s desk. The inspector then glances up from the witness statement she was going over as Captain begins, “Magda called both are doing just fine. Ben has only scrapes and bruises.”
“That’s a relief.” C.D. replies leaning back in her seat and stretching, “I don’t know what Mag would have done if it was anything worse.”
“Let’s not think about that.” Kate replies, “The main thing is they’re okay.” She nods.
“Yeah, you’re right.”
Glancing at her watch Kate looks up, “Isn’t your shift about done?”
“Yeah, I know. I’m just…uh, going over a few things before I leave.”
“Get some rest, C.D. We run ourselves ragged sometimes.”
The blonde looks up, “I’ll keep that in mind.”
Kate nods, “Okay…” as she turns and begins to head to her office, but before she gets more than two steps away from C.D. she turns, “You know, it may seem like it’s helping. Staying out of the house, but really you’ve got to look at it head on.” She says.
C.D. turns in her seat looking at Captain; they both knew what she was talking about; her divorce. She needed to move on it just seemed so much easier to say than do. Hoping once it all became final it’d be easier to do. Like the part of her life would just automatically close once the marriage officially did.

Driving along the I-80 toward Oakland Jinny’s car was quiet nothing was to be heard besides the window blowing into her cracked window. The sun was beginning to get low in the sky, but she knew she’d get to Napa and her awaiting family before sunset.

Actually, I think the different ways of saying coke are interesting also. But to answer your question, no, people in California don't call it pop. Well some might, but I don't think the majority does. I personally say coke, pepsi, whatever... Jeanie is from Nebraska where they call it pop, which is cool too. Just where I lived we never called it that. Just like some people call it soda..*shrugs* Interesting though. :) Just like the dinner/ supper thing. Jeanie and I argue about that..lol.. I say.. breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She says.. breakfast, dinner, supper. Depends on how you're raised. I still say it's breakfast, lunch, and dinner though, Jeanie! ;) lol... Anyway, I will post more once I get on my computer.

This time alone gave her time to think, which she wasn’t sure was a good thing. She had said so much to both Magda and Theodore the night before. It was the first time she had really let everything that was bothering her out in the open, and she wasn’t sure if she liked the feeling it gave her. It was so different; she had always lived her life keeping everything inside, but now she was now beginning to slowly let things out. With Theodore she always had a sense of self worth. He made her feel like she could say anything to him, after all he had actually sat and listened last night when she had talked about her mother. God, it had been so long since she had been able to talk about her mother, never the less for someone to actually listen.

Magda and Benjamin begin down the long corridor of the hospital lead by a nurse. Together the three headed toward the room where Gabriel had been taken.
“Right here.” The woman said in a small voice pushing the door open more so the two visitors could enter.
“Thanks.” Magda nods to the woman as she sees Gabriel to the side of the room a large white bandage wrapped around his chest area.
“Dad, you ok?” Ben asks a little hesitate, creeping slowly toward his father’s bedside.
His father smiles a little at him, “It takes more than a couple bruised ribs to keep me down.” He says lightheartedly. “Although we were lucky today, Ben.”
The eight-year-old nods, “I know.”
“I don’t need any more scares like this ever again, you hear me?” Magda spoke up.
“Sorry to worry you, Mag.” Gabriel said seriously looking up to her from the hospital bed.

Here we call it pop. And breakfast, lunch, and supper. Anyways, post more!

Kate sat in a big chair in front of the fireplace in her living room, the phone next to her on the side table. It had been several hours since Amanda had went storming out of the Felony Division angry how her mother had taken the news of her becoming a mother with her girlfriend. By now she had had plenty of time to get back to Los Angeles. Kate leaned over taking the phone in her hand and dialed the numbers to her daughter’s apartment. Just before she was about to hang up Amanda’s answering machine picked up which it hadn’t earlier that day when she had tried to call.
“Hey, This is Amanda.” Her daughter’s voice came over the machine, “And this is Jill.” Came another voice, “Leave your message after the beep and we’ll get back to you… ASAP.” The two said in unison as the machine beeped.
“Hi, Sweetie, this is mom. I just wanted to make sure you got home okay. It’s..” Kate glances at her watch on her arm, “7:30… I’ll call you back later we need to talk.” She pauses, “Bye. I love you.” With that she hangs up and sits back into her chair with a sigh looking to the right of her at the crackling fire.


Teddy got off the phone and went over to his sleeping daughter. He checked the diaper bag for all the essentials before her picked Alexis up.
"We are going somewhere sweetie." He said softly as he grabbed the room key and headed out the door and down the hall he stopped before another suite halfway down the hall as he knocked on the door. Theodore was greeted by him mom opening the door.
"Are you sure this is no problem?" he asks again.
Heidi took the sleeping baby from her father as she said, "Are you kidding. I am going to love having my granddaughter all night long." She grins.
"Just so you know you can call if you need to." He assures, “We’re right down the hall.”
Robert joined his wife at the door, "Teddy your mom has been talking about nothing but keeping her first grandchild for an overnight visit even though it is not at the house."
"As long as you know if Lexi gets cranky or needs anything just call."
“I think I can handle my own granddaughter Teddy, now go get ready for Jinny." Heidi says glancing down to the baby in her arms.
Theodore leans over and kisses his daughter on the forehead, "Be good for granny here sweetie. Daddy and Mommy love you very much. See you in the morning."
"Enjoy yourself son, we got Lexi taken care of.” Robert says, “Tell Jinny Happy Birthday from us.”
"Thanks mom, dad. I should get going. Mag's fiancé and son are doing fine and she left like 40 minutes ago."
"Then get going. We have everything under control."

Well isn't he the clever one. And you too...stopping like that so more people will want to read. UGH...more ASAP please;)

Jeanie and I wrote a lot last night. Good thing too because she's in tornado warnings for the next three hours. Her place got evacuated and everything. That's just too freaky for my blood. I'm a West Coast Kid, tornados scare me. lol.....

The sun was at the top of the mountains once Jinny finally passes the welcoming sign into Napa. Taking out her cell phone she dials up Theodore’s number. After several rings he finally picks up and gives her detailed directions to the ‘Napa Valley Lodge’ located on Madison Street.
Several minutes had gone by once she had hung up the telephone from her fiancé when she pulls into the lodge’s parking lot. Once parked she leans over and grabs the cell phone that she had tossed on the passenger’s side seat less that 10 minutes ago.
Pulling open the glass doors of the lodge and entering it was like nothing she had ever stayed in before. Usually the best she’d get would be a motel on the side of the freeway when she had taken trips with her family or old boyfriends, but no… this place looked as if it was cut out of a movie or something. It was elegantly lit with beautiful chandeliers and designer lamps. Feeling out of place in an atmosphere like this she nods gently at the people behind the counter and makes her way across the lobby as Theodore had directed and down a long hallway.

Magda walks in followed closely behind by her son and finally Gabriel walks in to the apartment slowly his arms across his front, hand resting on his right-bandaged ribs.
"Let me get you some pillows for the couch." Magda said once he was in the door.
"You don't need to wait on me hand and foot Mag."
"I know but I can help you out the first night now can't I?"
"Okay."
Ben studied his father as Magda made her way down the hall, "Are you sure you are okay Dad?"
Gabe turned to his son, "Ben I just have some bruised ribs that are going to be a little sore for a couple of days. I will be back to new before you know it."
A couple minutes later Magda returned bringing out a couple of pillows and puts them on the couch, "I think I am going to call Cap and ask if I can have a personal day tomorrow."
"Why?"
"Well I just thought it would be nice for us to spend the day together as a family. Okay by you?"
"Yeah that’ll be cool! Can we have Mickey Mouse pancakes?" her son jumps in.
"Sure, Papi, we can have Mickey Mouse Pancakes.” She laughs, “And what would you like for breakfast Gabe?"
"I think that would be just fine as I don't know if I am up for what I really want."
Mag gave Gabe a look that said Ben is in the room.

Jinny was walking down the hallway to the room number that Teddy had just given her on the phone not more than 5 minutes before. She couldn't believe that they were finally in Napa for that weekend that never happened last summer, was it really just last summer, when it seemed like so much longer. A lot had happened in that time, Alexis was born and they were now engaged. She certainly wouldn't have guessed then all that would transpire in the next several months. Just as she was about to knock on the door Theodore opened it.
"Hey" she said a bit surprised.
Theodore smiled at her, "Perfect timing I just got everything finished."
“What are you up to there counselor?" she smiles.
"Just getting things ready to celebrate your birthday is all. Close you eyes and give me your hand."
Jinny looked at him suspiciously, "What are you up to Teddy?"
"Just humor me."
She did as she was requested to as Theodore lead her into the suite. He stopped in the middle of the suite and turned to face her, "Okay you can open your eyes now."
Jinny opened her eyes and couldn't believe what she saw in front of her, she looked at Teddy, "You did all this for me?"
"Who else."
Jinny stood and looked at the room glowing from the candles that Theodore had arranged all over the whole suite, "This is amazing." She said still surprised it was like a dream. It was beautiful. She moved closer to Teddy as she leaned up and kissed him softly on the lips to thank him for everything he had done. When they broke the kiss Jinny looked around again and asks, "Where is Alexis?"
"Don't worry Jin, she is safe down the hall with mom and dad."
"You mean we are alone for the entire night?"
Theodore leaned down and kissed Jinny on the lips as the kiss started to grow passionate he broke it off and said, "Come with me Jin I have something I want to show you."
"What?" she asks softly.
Theodore take her hand and led her into the bathroom where, candles lined the entire sunken bathtub. Jinny looked up at him, "I see you have something in mind."
"I thought we might start in here since we have all night together, unless you have something else in mind. After all it is your birthday and you can have whatever you little heart desires."
“I would be careful making a statement like that counselor."
"Hit me with your best shot."

Well I live in Tornado alley what can I say. You all have earthquakes we have tornado warnings. Tonight I saw a tornado in the sky that hadn't touched down but was rotationg in the sky then my sister in law and I came out to check on my place and on the way back to town we say a funnel cloud. We didn't have any tornados touch down around here just winds in the 80 miles an hour range and hail and of course rain. And it was sunny here to all day long. I guess like you all are accustomed to earthquakes I am accustomed to tornado warnings and taking shelter. Although I send the kids to the shelter and I stand on the back porch or front porch and watch for it. I know when to take cover. I know when I get scared then it is time to take cover. Although my daughter said that 5 tornados did touch down in Nebraska tonight.

Wow, I'm really glad everything's okay. As far as I know, yesterday didn't exist, lol, cuz I slept:sleep2: ALL DAY yesterday and all night last night. But just so you know, I'm awake and happy you're okay. You got more guts than I got, that's for sure.

She smiled slyly, "You may regret those words, Teddy."
He looks in Jinny's eyes, "Never. I just want to make this a special day for you Jin. You deserve it after all, less than 2 months ago you gave birth to our daughter and I was never so proud of anyone as I was of you that day Jin. You are the best thing to ever happen to me."
Theodore leans down to kiss Jinny it quickly turns passionate as he reaches for the buttons on her shirt. Jinny's hands run down Theodore's chest as she reached her favorite spot. Pulling Teddy’s shirt up from being tucked into his pants she runs her hands under it then gently back down undoing his belt that he had on. Breaking the kiss and stepping back slightly she pulls the belt from the loops of his pants and tosses it to the chair just outside the door. She then comes back to him with another passionate kiss. Arriving at the last button on Jinny’s top Theodore opens the shirt up exposing her laced bra and kisses his way from her lips to her cheek and then onto her neck and shoulders lining her with soft kisses. She smiles feeling his hot breath near her ear as she reaches up and undoes the first few buttons on his shirt, enough to pull over him, wanting to get him out of it quickly.
Theodore moves back to Jinny’s lips and pushes her shirt off her shoulders letting it drop to the linoleum floor as he steps forward having Jinny follow his lead further into the large bathroom. In no time both were completely unclothed and were slipping into the warm water of the sunken Jacuzzi tub, bubbles tracing the top of the water.
Once in the tub Theodore begins to gently glide his hands over Jinny’s back. It was nice while it lasted, but it soon came to an end as Jinny turns herself around and moves; now sitting on Theodore’s legs. Each of her legs on either side of his, she kisses his lips then to his shoulder and leans forward to kiss his chest her hand gliding down each time she kissed. Before she was about to kiss her way back up from his mid stomach, he pulls her gently up to him. He gives her a gentle kiss, then another as she maneuvers closer to him.

Robert and Heidi had just feed and changed Lexi as she was she was watching her grandmother intently while Heidi rocked her.
"She is starting to stay awake longer and notice her surroundings."
"She really is. She seems to be so alert, like she is taking in everything."
Robert nods, "She sure is precious, Jinny and Teddy did good."
"I agree. They do make beautiful babies."

Coming from the bathroom once they had dried each other from the bath, both Jinny and Theodore were in the white robes provided by the lodge.
“I just want to say. This is the best birthday I’ve ever had.” Jinny comments, Theodore walking behind her arms around her waist.
“I aim to please.” He replies pushing her hair back and kissing the side of her neck.
Jinny pulls away with a laugh, reaching up to her neck she turns around, “Well that you did, that you did.” She smiles.
Teddy returns the smile and steps forward leaning down to kiss her again when there’s a knock at the door. This doesn’t stop him he kisses her neck again, his arms placed around Jin so she couldn’t pull away he kisses up to her mouth where they begin a passionate kiss as the person at the door knocks again. Theodore pulls away but doesn’t take his arms from around Jinny, “That must be the room service we ordered.” He said leaning down to kiss her again.
This time Jinny breaks it as there’s another knock, “Don’t you think we should answer it?”
“Good things come to those who wait.” He answers and kisses her again taking a step forward, Jinny following his lead to the bed.
“They are just the room service people, Teddy.” She chuckles in between kisses.
Once Jinny was on the bed Theodore parts from her and assures he’ll be right back and leaves her making his way for the door to accept the room service.
Jinny lays back propping herself up gently on the pillows behind her, awaiting Theodore’s return. She smiles seductively watching him open the door. Several seconds of him standing in front of the cracked door in nothing but a robe, such as she, she hears him say, “Mom, sure come in.” he says loud enough for Jinny to hear as he steps to the side opening the door wider for his mother to enter with the baby in her arms.
Hearing those words Jinny jumps up from the bed and stands pulling the robe more tightly around herself. Mrs. Blumenthal had entered just in time to see Jinny’s reaction and looks from Jinny back to her son, “If I’ve come at a bad time. I can… come back later.” She mumbles.
“No, of course not.” Jinny replies quickly forcing a smile.

Okay, where do I begin? Does WOW say it sufficiently? No, of course not, but WOW anyways.

She walks over to Heidi taking her daughter into her own arms, “How’s my girl?”
“Sooo….” Heidi smiles at the two.
“So, Mom, you need pajamas for Alexis, right?” Theodore asks before his mother could continue and moves to the corner of the room where he’d put the baby’s outfits. Seizing a small pink and white pajama set Theodore takes it back to his mother.
“Thanks dear.” She said looking to Alexis and Jinny.
Jinny was sitting on the edge of the bed with her daughter in her lap.
“We should all have breakfast tomorrow.” Heidi says.
“Yeah, I’m sure that’d be great.” Teddy nods, “Right, Jin?”
Jinny glances up from the baby and look to Theodore, “Yeah sure, that’d be good.” She nods not having any idea what she had just accepted to.
“Okay, then I’ll be on my way.” The grandmother says as she comes over to Jinny to take the baby back.
“Goodnight, baby. You sleep well, ok? I love you.” She smiles to her baby and kisses her forehead before handing her up to Heidi’s awaiting arms.
“I hope this isn’t any inconvenience, Heidi.” Jinny says standing up about to continue but Heidi doesn’t allow her to, “Nonsense, I love this sweet grandchild of mine. She’s been no problem.” She looks down to the baby, “You’ve been a complete angel haven’t you?” she coos at the infant.
“We really appreciate this mom.”
“Yes, Thank You.”
“You two don’t need to thank me. She’s my grandchild. I’d like to see her more often, perhaps for the night at home.” She smiles, “Happy Birthday, Jinny.” Heidi continues, “Now Alexis and Grandma are off to the lobby to see what they’re serving in that nice little café.”
Once Theodore had said his goodbyes and given his daughter a kiss, Heidi leaves with the little on in her arms.

Don't we all just love grandma's? Did you perhaps read my earlier post on my fic? That's all I'm saying.

Okay it isn't all I'm say, cuz I have said more yet. See you said you wrote more and could continue posting like you used to, so get to it. You have two weeks to make up for. LOL

After waiting about five minutes for the food to arrive, which is hadn’t. Theodore walks over to Jinny whom was reclining on the bed and leaned in to kiss her, as there was a knock on the door, “Perfect timing.” He says getting up exhaling and going to the door leaving Jin, yet again on the bed.
Yet this time it was actually the room service that quickly came, dropped off the food and left. This time they began again within seconds of the room service leaving, with a soft kiss here and there then a kiss on the lips that in no time had turned passionate. Theodore leads Jinny to the bed again as they ease onto is, he lowers himself on top meeting Jinny’s awaiting lips again in a long romantic kiss. Within no time things had began to heat up incredibly. Jinny moves slightly having Theodore arise from her supporting his weight on his knees and hands that were firmly placed on the bed, Jinny beneath him. She grins slightly before reaching up and undoing the tie on Theodore’s robe letting it fall open revealing his nude body above her. Glancing back up Jinny’s look lingers as the two gazes into each other’s eyes.
“You’re beautiful.” Theodore says.
Jinny licks her lips and smiles to him no saying anything, then moving her sight down over his body above her, “You’re not too bad yourself.” She grins as she moves him over, he now with his back on the bed, and Jinny above him.
He was now fully into this as Jinny begins to lean down.
Instead Theodore’s meets her kissing her upper chest that was exposed from the V shaped opening where her robe was overlapping. As she lowers herself onto him the meet in another kiss as Jinny reaches for his cheek she takes a deep breath as he runs his hands up the slower opening up the robe onto her legs. Just before Jinny’s robe was about to be taken from her body there’s another knock on the door.
“What is this, Grand Central Station?” Theodore asks not expecting any other interruptions for the night.

Okay, dare I hope you'll post more tonight?:D

Maybe if I say how GREAT this has been so far, and maybe by mentioning that you left us at a very delicate place, cuz, um, there's someone at the door.

Jinny leans down and gives him a parting kiss and runs her hands down his body, “Apparently so.”
He sighs leaning up to kiss her again as she makes her way off of him, “Cover up, I’ll get it this time.” She says getting up pulling her robe closed again and fastening the tie back in place. Theodore does as Jinny suggested and pulls the robe back over his body.
Jinny takes a few deep breaths trying to reestablish her self before opening the door. Once she does she opens the door, Robert in front of her she forces a smile, “Hey, Robert, something wrong?” she asks moving her hands up trying to flatten out her messy hair.
“Is Heidi here by any chance? She said she was coming to pick up Alexis’s p.j.’s.”
Jinny shakes her head and glances back behind the door at Theodore still on the bed. He hadn’t exactly done the best job of covering himself, but it didn’t really matter as of now his father couldn’t see, “When she left she said she was on her way to the lobby.”
“Oooh okay, thanks dear. Tell Teddy goodnight.”
“Sure will.” She assures with another false smile and a short wave before closing the door and locking it. As she turns she leans against the door and looks across the room to Teddy, “Nice covering up.”
“We just can’t get any privacy.” He smiles.
“You’re telling me.” Jinny replies arriving back on the bed and resumes her position on top. Again they pick up where they left off, both shedding their robes in no time. Leaving them to become more passionate with every breath they take.

Jinny stands out on the patio the cool night air blowing her hair back over her shoulders. She stood barefoot in a long silk black nightgown, just admiring the beauty of her surroundings as the stars twinkled on the river that lay below. It was so peaceful here she couldn’t remember the last time she felt so loved, safe, and calm. The feel of Theodore putting his jacket over her bare shoulders then resting his arms around her brings her to lean back onto his as he held her. She glances up and smiles at him, “It’s beautiful here.”
“Didn’t I tell you?” he asks softly kissing the side of her head, looking out over the water. This only lasts a moment as the stereo begins.
Jinny moves her head to the side as she heard the song begin. It was all so familiar she turns to look to Theodore.

Awwwww....Teddys' so sweet. Think anyone would notice if I switched my Teddy for him? This is so awesome!!!

Okay, it's one here, so that means it's ten there. Time enough for you to post more, again. Quickly, hopefully, cuz I'm turning in soon.

Before she could say anything he only nods, “Yes, it’s the song we first danced to in Anchorside.”
Jinny grins and shakes her head, “You shouldn’t have. All this…” she moves her hands around motioning to their whole surroundings, “You really shouldn’t have bothered.”
“Why not?” he asks glancing around, “You deserve this. I mean.. look what you’ve accomplished in the last year. You’re a mother, you’re sober….”
“We’re engaged.” She smiles slightly getting what he was trying to say to her.
“See…” Theodore replies brushing his hand against the side of her face, “You deserve this all.” He said again taking her into his arms as they begin to sway gently to the music, Teddy’s coat still over Jinny’s shoulders.

The next morning the shades were drawn keeping the room in shadows as the sun tried to peek thru the openings. They had had a late night last night enjoying every minute they had together. The sound of a quick knock on the door then a pause then another few knocks stirred the couple that was lying in each other’s arms. Jinny turned away from Teddy in a light sleep with a grumble putting a pillow over her head. Leaving Theodore no choice but to get up and answer it. First he leans over and pulls the blanket up over Jinny, and pulls his robe on as he walks to the door, fastening it as he opens it.
“Hi Dear, Alexis is cranky, and needs a feeding before we all head to the Café for breakfast.” Heidi said perky, obviously having been up for awhile.
Theodore nods with a yawn extending his arms taking his daughter from her grandmother, “What time is it?”
“It’s 6:46, why, did we wake you?”
Adjusting the baby in his arms he looks to his mom, “Yeah you did…” he nods.
“Well, your father and I would like to be at the café at least by 7:30.”
“Okay, I’ll get Jinny up. We’ll meet you down there?” he questions.
“Sure sure, dear. We’ll see you there.” She nods, Theodore agrees and closes the door as his mother heads back to her suite.
Walking back to the bed his daughter in hand squirming and being fussy he lays her down on her stomach on the bed as he crawls back in Alexis lying between he and Jinny.

Hehe. Thank you for humoring me, lol. Good night. For now. I'll pester you for more tomorrow. Or, you could post more before then and I'll have it to read and won't have to bother you as soon as I normally would. LOL
