C.D. shrugs and shakes her head, "He could be feeling cornered. Like there isn't any other way out. So why not try another approach. Maybe, just maybe he's telling the truth."
"Yeah, the only way we can determine that is-" C.D. interupts her.
"Is either his wife wakes up from coma and sheds some light on this situation. Or we get some leads. If not he'll either be a deadman walking or a dead man period."
"He won't get the death penalty."
"Might aswell. He'll be in prison for a hell of a long time." C.D. reply's.

Several hours go by and the outside was now covered in darkness. C.D. looked out the window near the coffee machine over the city sprinkled with lights as she stirred the sugar into her coffee. Their shift was over in a few minutes and they could all go their seperate ways until tomorrow morning, bright and early.
Jinny sighed and looked up from the paperwork she had open over her desk at the clock above Captain's office door. Realizing it was about time to go she begins to close the many folders she had open and sort the papers to a pile on the side of her desk for the next morning.
Looking over to her partner Magda asks, "You about ready, Jin?" her desk already cleared.
"Yeah, just finishing some stuff up."
C.D. walks back over to her desk and sits down across from her partner whom was typing up a paper on her laptop. Neither said a word to one another. Just went about their work.

Walking down one of the toy aisles of Target the inspectors looked up and down the shelves.
"What about a water gun? I always loved mine as a kid."
Magda gives her a look, "No, I don't think that's such a good idea. I'd like to keep my house from molding."
"Yeah, good point." Jinny laughed. "How about a remote control car?"
"He's got one already. The one my mom bought for him."
"Mag, the poor kids driving around a VW Bug for god sakes." she looks at her partner, "Yellow at that." she adds.
"Jinny!"
"It's true, Mag. I'm gonna buy him a Monster Truck! With big wheels." Jinny widens her eyes and adds, "Imagine that!" and laughs.
Magda shook her head, "You spoil my son rotten. I thought pregnancy was supposed to mellow out people. I think it's made you more of a smart ass."
"Yeah well...You're never gonna get rid of me, Mag." Jinny says walking down the aisle to the romote control cars. "Red good, huh? Yeah, I think he'll like red." Jinny answers her own question and picks the box up from the bottom shelf. "So what do you think?" she asks walking over to her partner and showing her the box and the truck through the clear plastic front.
"He definitely will like that." she shakes her head and grins.

"Good." Jinny reply's and puts the box into the cart that Magda is pushing. The two then walk out of the toy aisle and down one of the middle aisles walking toward the registers, but before that they come apon the clothes aisle and Magda eases her way into it, "Jinny, look at this." she reply's picking a dark blue sweater off the rack.
"It's you, Mag." her friend answers looking at the sweater with a laugh.
Magda looks down at the sweater she is now holding front of her, "I like the color."
"Yeah. It's nice." Jinny reply's looking around for something more interesting to look at.
"We can check out the maternity clothes." Magda adds putting the sweater back on the rack.
Jinny returns Magda a look then gives up on what she was going to say. After all her pants were getting a little uncomfortable, she sighs, "Fine, but I'm not getting any weird printed clothes. So get that out of your mind."
Magda laughs, "Not all maternity clothes are printed, Jinny."
"Anyway, my shirts still fit fine. I just need a pair of pants or two is all." she looks at her partner, "And I mean that's all."
"Okay, there's no harm in looking. Now is there?"
"I guess not." Jinny reply's following her friend over to the maternity clothes. Where the two begin looking.
"Here we go." Jinny says picking up a pair of black pants from the rack.
Magda walks over and looks at them, "Yeah those are good for now. What about later?" she asks looking at the size of them.
"Okay fine." Jinny reply's putting the pants over her arm and pulling a bigger pair from the rack. "There. That's settled now. Besides they're elastic. They'll stretch."
"Maybe for another month or so." Magda replies.
"We'll worry about that then won't we?" Jinny answers with a smile and drops the two identical pants into the cart.
"Okay, fine with me." Magda replies walking over to the maternity shirts.
"No way, Mag." Jinny comes from behind her.
"These are cute, Jin."
"Granted. Maybe for around the house wearing, but right now I don't need something 10 sizes too big." she reply's.
Magda shakes her head, "Just wait...The weight it going to sneak up on you quick. Then you'll be eating those words." she looks at Jinny, "I know. I made the same mistake."
"I have it taken care of.." Jinny answers

"What about some sweat pants and one of your t-shirts?" Magda asks. "Or do those not fit?"
Jinny nods and say under her breath, "Yeah they fit." she lied. Her sweat pants at home were beginning to leave imprints around her stomach, but she couldn't let on. "I mean something more..." she pauses when Magda walks over to the maternity night gowns.
"No way, those look like they're made for some woman in a nursing home getting her food chewed for her." Jinny reply's.
"Excuse me." Magda answers.
"I want something more..." she moves her hands.
"Ooh" Magda nods, "Sexy." she answers with a laugh.
"Yeah, something like that." Jinny reply's. A bit hesitant since Magda knew whom it was for. She liked to keep her relationship with Teddy more of a secret. Which she usually hadn't before with her other relations. This one was different. She told herself it was different because she was carrying his kid, and he wasn't ever just another guy. Even if this relationship didn't work out. She'd be seeing him a lot for the rest of her life.
"Uh-huh." Magda smirks and pushes the cart out of the maternity area down a ways to the lingerie/under garments. When Magda glances over to the left of her and sees Peter looking down at something in the men’s section on one of the racks, "Oh my god." she says looking to Jinny as she continues to walk.
"What?" Jinny asks looking to her partner. "What's wrong?"
"It's Peter!" she reply's
"Peter? Oh, Peter. Where'd you see him?"
"Back there." Magda reply's not looking back.
Jinny looks over passed Magda, doesn't see anything. Then looks behind them down the men's aisle, and sees him.
"Don't look, Jinny." Magda answers.
"It's okay he's looking through clothes. He didn't see us." Jinny replied. "And so what if he did."
"He's my ex-partner, Jinny. He's my ex-partner because of the relations we had. That's the so what." Magda reply's.
"Yeah, well he seems as if he's doing good. Maybe you should talk to him."
"No, not now. I just came here to help you pick out Benjamin a present. Not to talk to Peter."
"Mag, you're going to have to talk to him eventually."
“Why?" Magda reply's moving the cart into the section they wanted.
Jinny walked a few steps into the lingerie section. "Second thought. This isn't for me." she reply's.
"What?" her partner asked giving her a look, "You mean. The extraordinary Jinny Exstead doesn't have even one piece of lingerie?"
She shakes her head and touches one of the silk lingerie, "No, it's never really been my kind of thing."
Another look comes her way as Mag scoffs, "Not your thing?"
"Yeah, I mean, who needs it. It only comes off." Jinny reply's following Magda farther into the clothing.
Magda laughs a bit and nods, "Good point, but not always. How about a nightgown?"
"Nightgown?" Jinny tilts her head in agreement, "I could handle that."
"Okay. So." Magda walks over to the nightgown section. They had long and short soft and shiny. You name it.
"What about this one?" Magda asks pulling one of the shorter nightgowns off the rack.

The porch light beamed as Kate made her way up the steps to her front door. The lights in the house were already flipped on and even from outside she could hear the television on. It was nice to have Amanda home, but did she really have to listen to the tv that loud? She smiles to herself and turns the doorknob walking into the front enterance.
"Hi, I'm home." she calls out putting her purse and papers on a chair near the door as she slides off her shoes and leaves them under the coatrack. Hearing no answer she walks into the living room and sees Amanda fast asleep on the sofa the tv blarring.
Kate shakes her head and proceeds to turn the television off. She didn't mind Amanda sleeping she just wished she'd lock the door beforehand. It was a crazy place out there. She knew it first hand from working with people whom commit crimes everyday.

Finished in the lingerie aisle. Jinny had finally picked out something. So she and Mag were on their way up to the registers when Peter comes around the corner and spots both Magda and Jinny. Straight off he noticed how 'different' Jinny was. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Jinny Exstead pregnant, wow. he thought. Knowing it was awkward to walk up to them and strike up a conversation after all he and Magda had gone through a few months before. He figured if he didn't take this oppertunity he'd regret it. So with that he watches them for another second as he begins to approach from behind.
Magda turns around when she feels a tap on the shoulder to see Peter standing in the middle of she and Jinny.
"Oh, Hey Peter. How are ya?" Jinny asks friendly. She had no problem with him. Afterall they had no sexual relations like Mag and him did.
"I'm doing pretty good." he looks down at her slightly. "Looks like you've been busy. When ya due?" he adds with a smile.
Jinny laughs and pulls at her jacket, "Yeah, I guess you could say that. In March. That's right , huh, I haven't seen you since..." she looks at her partner, "When was it, Mag?" trying to bring her out of the silence.
"Since.." Magda clears her throat. "We got the guy who was following you."
Peter nods, "So how's Ben?"
"He's okay." Magda reply's uncomfortable.

"It's his birthday Saturday." Jinny adds in. Not without Magda giving her a look.
"Really? He's turning..." Peter stands there for a moment, "Eight. He's sure growing up. Who is home watching him anyhow?"
"His father." Magda answers.
Peter's face drops in a bit of confusion, "You get married, Magda?" he asks in a low tone.
"God no." Magda reply's quickly, "It's Gabriel. Ben's dad. He's back. Has been now for awhile."
He shakes his head, "I didn't know."
"I-I think I'll just go over here, and ,uh-" Jinny's voice begins to trail off as she looks around for something to look at, "The glasses." she adds in and begins to walk off.
"No, Jinny. It's okay." her partner jumps in.

Magda sat on the side of Ben's bed and ran her hand over his forehead then kissed it.
"I love you baby." she said to him in a whisper since he was asleep.
"I love you too." Ben repies in a sleepy voice.
"Hey..go back to sleep." she grins.
"Where were you?" he asks.
"Your dad didn't tell you?"
Ben shakes his head.
"I took Jinny shopping...to..get some stuff."
"What kind of stuff?" he asks rubbing his eyes and turning to face his mom in the dark.
"Stuff she needed." Magda answers. "I'll see you tomorrow honey." she whispers and kisses his forehead again.
"Okay.." he smiles and closes his eyes back.
Magda then stands and walks to the door and is about to leave.
"Can you leave the door open?" Ben asks.
She smiles, "Sure Benjamin. Go to sleep though. Goodnight baby." she says turning down the hall to her room.

Turning the doorknob to her apartment Jinny pushes the door open. Leans down and grabs the large bag that she had set down in the hall. Containing Ben’s truck, wrapping paper, and the clothing she had bought. She brings it into the apartment and places it just inside the door near the chair in her living room before she reaches to turn on the light. Once it’s on she begins to take off her jacket and pushes closed the front door with her foot.
The door slams behind her and she exhales hanging up the jacket on the hook. Her hand instinctively goes to her lower back as she walks toward the kitchen for a drink. She had had a long day at work, and was already tired. Didn’t even feel like taking a shower before bed. So she figured she’d get a drink and rest for a while. Having to be at work early in the morning and being so tired during the day was beginning to get to her. Although tomorrow all she had to work was a half a day. Her second Doctors appointment was at 2:00 p.m.

Once in the kitchen Jinny pulls open the refrigerator and glances around the shelves. Not seeing anything to eat that really appealed to her at this moment she settles with a bottle of water. Undoing the cap as she walks back into the living room and then down to her bedroom. Where she rests herself on the bed, and exhales. Taking a sip of the water she glances around the room.
Jinny shifts a bit on the bed. She couldn’t get comfortable. After a couple minutes of this she gives up and leans across her bed stretching to put the bottle of water on the nightstand. She does so and then gets up to change into something more comfortable to sleep in. Or just rest in for that matter.
First, she takes her pants down and slides into a pair of her sweat pants that actually still fit. She had a few pairs of pants that had always been large on her, but now they were finally coming to some use. If it weren’t for those she’d would have had to resort to maternity clothes a little while ago. Though she was too stubborn to admit it to the others. Especially Mag, but she finally gave in and bought a couple pairs of pants tonight.
‘Hopefully Mag will leave me alone for now.’ She thought to herself and smiled. Her friend was trying to be helpful, but that wasn’t the point she was trying to make here. Not exactly sure what the point was she was actually trying to make was, but what she did know was that wasn’t it.
Sliding her t-shirt over her head Jinny grabs another from the drawer and drops the last to the ground near the pants. Pulling the shirt over her head she puts her arms through, and looks up at herself in the mirror. Then goes to pull down the bottom half of her shirt that had gotten bundled up in just the mid of her abdomen. But before she does she pulls her shirt up slightly holding it with her left hand and runs her free hand over her bare stomach. Turning sideways to study her figure in the mirror. When the sudden noice of the phones first ring startles her letting her drop the shirt, but not taking her hand from her stomach. She takes a breath taking her hand from her stomach and picks the phone up from the dresser.
"Hello?" she asks into it.
"Hi Hon, you okay? I didn't wake you did I?" Teddy asks sympathetic.
"No you didn't wake me. I just got home alittle while ago actually."
"Oh?" he asks taking a sip of his drink. "How did work go?"
"That...." she hesitates a moment. "Looks like we've got a serial killer on our hands."
"A serial killer?" Teddy asks.
"Yeah, everything is leading to that. All the victims have been woman, and he leaves them with a note. Leaving his 'mark'." she pauses. "In more ways than one."
"God, Jinny. That's horrible."
"Yeah, that's my day for ya." she shakes her head leaning on her pillow with a soft sigh.

I was actually glad to see you at lunch, it made my afternoon. I wanted to know if Lexi listened to her daddy today when I asked her to be nice to her mommy?"
Jinny laughed into the phone and said, "Yes Lexi was a good girl the rest of the day. I just can't seem to get comfortable tonight though."
"Your not in pain are you?"
"No I am not in any pain, just can't seem to find a comfortable position."
"You sure everything is okay?"
"I would tell you if it wasn't."
"Just checking to see if my girls are okay?"
Jinny smiled to herself and replied, "I know Teddy. I guess I am a little tired. It has been a long day."
"I should let you get some sleep and I will pick up in the morning."
"Yeah I guess I should try to get some rest. Lexi needs some and so do I for that matter."
"Jin"
"Yeah"
"Nite and I love you."
"Me to"

It was now 11:00 an hour until lunch Kate sat in her office on the phone to Amanda whom had just called. She scoffs, "Amanda you've been gone for a few months. I think I'm entitled to changing the kitchen around." she signs a paper in front of her.
"Yes. The pans are in the bottom cupboard near the refrigerator....I didn't think it was a bad place. Amanda no, don't change it back. I happen to like it the way it is. I can to handle change or I wouldn't have changed it in the first place...Fine, okay, you know what. I gotta go." Kate says to her daughter as C.D. and Angela arrive in her office doorway.
"Yes I love you too sweetie." she shakes her head, "No leave the kitchen the way it is...Okay thanks. Bye...Yes Amanda goodbye." she hangs up the phone and looks up to her two inspectors.

Theodore had finished all of his case loads early in order to be at the Division on time to pick up Jinny for their appointment with the OB GYN today at 2pm. Theodore had taken Jinny to work this morning so they would not have to take two cars today to the appointment cause Theodore wanted to take Jinny out baby shopping after. Theodore pulled into the Division parking lot at 11:30. He knew he was not supposed to be there until 1 but he thought maybe he could take Jinny to lunch before the appointment depending on her case load. Theodore got out of his car and started walking to the entrance when he saw Jinny and Magda pulling into the parking lot so he turned to walk to their car. Jinny pulled into the spot and turned off the car before looking at Magda and saying "We made it back just in time for lunch." Magda said, "Yeah I am kind of hungry and I don't need to ask you since you are always hungry anymore. What are you craving today?" Jinny was about to respond when there was a knock on her window. Jinny turned to see Theodore standing there and smiled. Jinny opened the door and said, "Hey. What are you doing here so early you are not supposed to be here til 1?" Theodore leaned down and gave Jinny a light kiss on the lips before responding, "I thought I could take my girls to lunch if you are not to heavily bogged down on a case?" Magda smiled at the exchange between Jinny and Theodore she had to say she had never seen her partner happier. This baby was a good thing and she could tell the mom and dad were in love with one another. She was happy for Jinny, she was finally getting the break she needed. Magda finally said, "Jin, I am going to go on in, we have nothing that can't wait..So why don't you go have lunch with Teddy?" Jinny turned to look at her partner and said, "Are you sure?" Magda said, "Yes Jin you were going to be gone anyways part of this afternoon and there is nothing I can't handle. I need to do the paperwork anyways before the Captain starts to ask where it is. I can do that alone." Jinny said, "Thanks Magda, I have to go in anyways and get my bag." Magda got out of the car as Theodore helped Jinny out of her side. Magda started to walk towards the division when she turned to tell Jinny something but when she looked back to her partner she smiled to her self and turned again to head for the division. Jinny broke the kiss that Theodore had given her when she had got out of the car and looked quickly around to see who had been watching. Theodore smiled when he saw Jinny scanning the parking lot to see who had noticed their exchange. Theodore said, "I couldn't help myself Jin." Jinny said, "I liked it also Teddy, I just don't need a lecture from the Captain about my personal life in the parking lot." Theodore said, "What is the most she can do?" Jinny replied, "Oh I don't know, make my life harder than she already does. She has it out for me although she has been nicer since I told her I was pregnant." Theodore smiled at Jinny and replied, "See there you go you can tell her hormones overtook you." Jinny laughed at Theodore's last comment and said "You have quite the sense of humor Teddy. I just have to go get my bag and then we can go." Theodore said, "Want me to come with or wait for you down here?" Jinny said, "It is up to you." Theodore said, "Well we can discuss what your craving is today and where you want to eat." Jinny smiled, "Of course everyone likes to poke at my cravings lately." Theodore replied, "I was not poking at your cravings I think there are cute that our daughter is causing all of it." Jinny said, "Come on Teddy lets go get my bag our daughter is letting me know she is hungry." Theodore couldn't resist putting his hand on Jinny's stomach and said, "Alexis mommy and daddy have a few things to do first but we will get you food it is our top priority to make sure that you are taken care of sweetie." Jinny smiled at Theodore and reached down and took his hand and moved it to another spot on her stomach and said, "Did you feel that?" Theodore looked at her and said "Was it the baby Jin is she alright? Your not in any pain are you?" Jinny replied, "Calm down Teddy no I am not in any pain and I don't know if it was Lexi or not but when you were talking to her, I felt something. I have been feeling these for the last week or two. Maybe it was just cause I am hungry. I don't know." Theodore said, "The Ultra Sound tech said it would be about a month to six weeks before you started feeling the baby and Jin it has been a month but maybe our daughter is going to be special. Does it feel like butterflies?" Jinny looked at Theodore and said, "You remembered everything that they said last time?" Theodore said, "Of course it concerned you and our daughter." Jinny said, "We can always ask the doctor today and see if it could possibly have been Lexi moving. Teddy do you realize that…" Jinny was interrupted by Theodore saying "I know Jin, We created a life and soon we can feel that life and little after that we will be able to hold our daughter the precious little girl we created together."

"I know that." C.D. answered as her phone began to ring. "De Lorenzo.... Yes it is. That's great. Yes, we'll be right down. Thank you very much for calling." she hangs the phone back on it's cradle. "Looks as if things are coming around. Mrs. Castra has woken up from her coma and is calling out for her husband."
"And why would she want to see him if he had done that to her."
"Exactly." C.D. reply's grabbing her coat from the back of her chair as the two Inspector's head toward the door.

Jinny and Theodore had decided to grab a bite at Eliza's Restaurant located a couple of blocks from the doctor's office and had parked at the doctor's parking lot and walked to the restaurant since Jinny had been hungry for Chinese. Jinny and Theodore had arrived at the doctor's with 30 minutes to spare before the appointment. They checked into the receptionist and took a seat to wait. Theodore had just returned with a few magazines for them to flip thru when the nurse called Jinny's name. Jinny and Theodore followed the nurse to a desk outside the rooms they had been in last time. The nurse turned to Jinny and Theodore and said, "My name is Maggie, I am Doctor Finkelstrin's nurse. I was out on your last appointment but we need to draw some blood and check your weight and check vitals before the Doctor sees you today. You can take a seat and I will get your vitals first." Jinny lets go of Theodore's hand and had a seat where the nurse had motioned for her to sit as Theodore stood and looked on. Maggie checked Jinny's blood pressure and her pulse and recorded the information in the chart. Theodore asked, "Was everything normal?" Maggie turned around and smiled she had dealt with expectant dads for the last 30 years and this father's questions were no surprise, she had heard them all as she replied, "Her blood pressure is 130/85 and her pulse is 72 that is quite normal. We check the blood pressure and pulse with each appointment to make sure that both mother and baby are doing fine." Jinny replied, "It is nice to know that I am normal." Which cause a smirk from Theodore.

I NEED more! I am iced in. At 9:00 this morning I scraped my windows for 25 minutes just so I could go to the grocery store. I did not go to work today because they closed school. I have been home with a three year old all day. They even closed the mall this afternoon. We are expected to get 14 inches of snow by morning, so I'll probably be stuck at home tomorrow as well. It would be nice to have something good to read. Like MORE of this fanfic! Please!...Please...Please...Please!

Okay, no problem,factsfan. I can't say that I know how you feel because, honestely, I don't. lol ...I've lived in California most of my life so I never really had to put up with snow..go figure! haha But I hear ya, here you go!! :)

Maggie proceeded to draw the blood and again Theodore said, "So why do you draw blood?" Maggie looked at Jinny and said, "He is very protective isn't he?" Jinny smiled and said, "You don't know the half of it." Maggie replied, "Well the reason we draw blood is to see how the mother's iron is cause in some cases pregnancy can cause your iron count to go down and we would have to supplement that with iron tablets, and we also check her weight every time to make sure she is not losing weight cause that could be bad for the baby." Maggie looked at Theodore and saw the concern on his face with that last remark and she said, "I didn't mean to frighten you it is also quite normal at the stage Jinny is at right now to either lose a few pounds or gain a few pounds but that is normal at this stage, we just get into the routine of checking the weight so in the later months we can make sure that Jinny is gaining enough to accommodate the extra weight she will need for the baby." Jinny looked at Theodore and saw that he is going to be very protective during this pregnancy with all the questions he was asking now and she was only 5 months along, but she also realized that he was going to be a good father. Maggie was saying, "Okay time to go into the exam room and the doctor will be with you two shortly." Jinny and Theodore followed the nurse to exam room number 2 where Maggie said, "Jinny you can get up on the exam table and the doctor will be in soon. Maggie turned and closed the door leaving Jinny and Theodore waiting for the doctor to come in to see them.

"Hey. You wanna grab a bite, Cap?" Magda asks leaning into the Captain's office. Since her partner had taken the rest of the day off for her appointment and C.D. and Angela had left in a hurry a little while ago she figured Captain was her next option.
"Sure. Just a minute." Kate reply's trying to finish up a paper before leaving.
"No prob, Cap." Magda says and goes back over to her desk for her coat. Sure, her and Cap weren't great friends like she and Jinny, but she'd be someone good to have a conversation with during lunch. Her mind kept running by and stopping at Peter all day. She couldn't keep her mind off how they had run into each other last night. It was nice, but just had seemed weird to see him in such a long time, and after everything. For so long she was seeing him everyday. Then a night of relations and shortly after that she didn't see him and quickly jumped back on the road with her new partner, Jinny. Never really having enough time to put the partnership to a complete close. There, well what they had, of a relationship to a close.

Her life was like a roller coaster. Just everything was jerking her around and bringing her on highs and lows. Gabriel coming back was a low. Then it went up again once their relationship began to expand more and more. Then a small dip when he told her he loved her. Then a sudden downward fall when he asked her to marry him. She just wasn't ready for that kind of commitment from someone whom had stepped into their lives, hers and Ben's, what seemed like 15 minutes ago. In a lot of ways it seemed longer, but for the most part it wasn't. She couldn't take that kind of a step. Especially with someone that had such a large role in Ben's life as it was. Not wanting it not to work out and him leave again.

Jinny was sitting on table leaning back onto Theodore who had his hands wrapped around Jinny rubbing her stomach. Theodore said, "What did you get Ben last night while you were out shopping?" Jinny replied, "Mag wouldn't let me get him a water gun. So I ended up getting him a Monster Truck remote control car." Theodore smiled at Jinny and said, "I am sure Ben will love that. Did you pick up any um maternity clothes?" Jinny looked up at Theodore and replied, "I got a few items but not much. I basically got some lingerie and a couple pairs of maternity pants. My shirts still fit right now." Theodore said, "Lingerie,huh?" he grins, "Can't wait to see what kind of lingerie you bought." Jinny looked up at Theodore and he looked like a kid in a candy store waiting to sample the candy and she smiled at him. Theodore leaned down and kissed Jinny as she returned the kiss. The doctor opened the door and said, "So how are we feeling today?" They broke the kiss and looked up at the doctor like they had been caught doing something then shouldn't have been doing. The doctor looks at the couple before him and smiles. Jinny found her voice and said, "I feel good today." The doctor said, "Good that is what we want. We will be measuring your stomach again and listening to the heartbeat again. It looks like your vitals are good and your iron level is normal. Are you taking the vitamins I gave you last time?" Jinny looked at Theodore before answering, "Yes I am taking the vitamins, how could I forget when someone reminds me all the time."

The doctor looked at Theodore and said, "That is his job to remind you. You would be surprised that most people forget to take the vitamins at first cause they are not used to taking them. Are you having any discomfort at all?" Jinny replied, "No… no discomfort." Theodore says, "She has been getting tired a lot lately is that normal?" The doctor replied, "Perfectly normal. Any other concerns before we get started?" Theodore says, "Well earlier today when I had my hand on her stomach and was talking to our daughter Jinny said she felt something and had been feeling these little flutters for the last week or two and she asked if I had felt it." The doctor said, "Probably your first feelings of your daughter moving, nothing to be alarmed about. Did it feel like little flutters?" Jinny said, "Yes, I only felt it for a few moments each time I had felt it in the last couple of weeks and Theodore said he couldn't feel anything." The doctor replied, "That Jinny was your daughter moving inside of you that you are now able to feel, she has been moving for a while now but you are now able to feel her moving, and Theodore should be able to feel his daughter move anytime now. But right now you will be the only one who can feel her move." Theodore said rather excitedly, "Really I can feel her move soon?" The doctor looked up at Theodore and said, "Yes within the next few days I would say, you should be able to feel what Jinny is feeling now. The baby actually moves anywhere from 4 to 1400 times a day." Jinny said, "4 to 1400 times a day." The doctor replied, "Yes that is normal. Shall we get started with measurements?" Jinny lay back on the exam table and lifted her shirt to below her breast line and the doctor started taking measurements and writing them in her folder. Theodore said, "So does everything look okay?" The doctor looks up at Theodore as he puts away that instrument and lays the folder down and says, "Everything looks fine. Now Jinny I am going to feel your stomach again to see how big you baby has gotten in the last month." He proceeds to feel her stomach and says, "Everything is looking right on schedule. You are starting to show and that is normal. We can listen to the heartbeat now." The doctor applies the gel and puts the instrument on Jinny's stomach and moves it around til he finds the heartbeat and turns up the volume on the machine as he says, "There she is. Her heartbeat is 156 beats a minute right now and that is normal for this stage of your pregnancy. The heartbeat will slow down more as you get farther along." Theodore took Jinny's hand in his as they listened to Lexi's heart beating. Jinny said, "Wow, I still can't believe that is really her." The doctor said, "Everything looks fine and I will need to see you again in a month. When you get farther along I will need to see you more often. You can make your appointment when you leave. Also as you start to show more it will become harder to do a lot of things you are used to doing. Just do what is comfortable, also no heavy lifting." Theodore said, "Don't worry she wont." Jinny looks up at him and smiles. Theodore thinks for a minute then says, "Is it okay for her to still be on the streets with her job or should she be doing desk duty yet?" Jinny shot Theodore a look. The doctor said, "I think she is just fine doing her job as is. We can discuss the possibility of desk duty next time." Jinny breathes a sigh of relief as she puts her shirt back down and gets up from the table. Theodore said, "Thanks doc and see you next month." As he takes Jinny's hand and the couple heads to the receptionist to make their next appointment.

Both Magda and Kate sat across from each other at Anchorside.
"Thanks for coming with me, Cap." Magda said in between a bite of her food.
"No problem. Better than eating alone."
"Yeah, Jinny had the rest of the day off for her doctors appointment."
"How's Jinny doing anyway? You know, she doesn't talk to me. For obvious reasons." Kate reply's before taking a sip of her water beside her plate.
Mag nods, "She's doing well."
"That's to be expected."
"Yeah, she and Alexis are definitely growing." Magda grins. "With Ben I was twice her size at 5 months."
"Alexis?" Kate asks.
She nods with a bite her mouth.
"Pretty name." Captain adds. "With Amanda. At 5 months.." she hesitates and looks at Magda to see if she even looked the slightest bit interested. Usually she didn't talk about herself. She shakes her head, "My own mother still didn't believe I was pregnant."
"You didn't have baby fat?"
"Not a bit."

Closing the door behind them Jinny walks over to the table and sets her bottled water down before turning around to face Teddy whom was still standing near the door taking his coat off.
"That wasn't so bad."
Teddy looks at her after he hangs his coat, "What?"
"The Appointment." she reply's.
He smiles and walks over, "Yeah.. I think the baby's getting used to it too."
Jinny laughs, "She better be..There's more than being carried around in a big waterbed."
"Yeah." he laughs leaning down and kissing Jinny softly. They then break it off then go back for another kiss, when Teddy's beeper goes off. He sighs and looks down, but then goes back to Jinny for the kiss which she breaks off.
"Teddy, check the page." she smiles looking up to him.
"It can wait." he reply's.
Jinny thinks for a moment and looks to his belt where the beeper was, "You know it could be your mother." she jokes looking back up to him.
"My mom?" he asks then glances down, "Well she'll leave a message."
"Teddy, answer the page." Jinny adds leaning up and kissing him very quick a last time on the lips. "I'm going to grab something to eat." she grins and walks into the kitchen leaving him standing near the table alone.

Jinny having just reached the refrigerator Teddy calls out after her he had looked at the phone number on his beeper. "It's Matthew."
"What?" she asks looking over the refrigerator door at the entrance into the kitchen. Teddy walks in, "Matthew called. Mind if I return his call?"
Jinny gives him a look. "What do you think?" she asks still looking directly at him. "Of course you can!"
He smiles at her, "Just checking." and goes to turn around.
"Oh and Theodore.." she waits until he looks, "You don't have to ask for anything. Just ,you know" Jinny moves her hand in a circular rotation. "Help yourself."
"Same to you at my place, Jinny. Anything." he reply's with a smiles and walks into the living room.

"Where's my husband!?!?" Mrs. Castra said loudly to the nurse that was fixing her IV. "I want my husband!" she added again.
"Calm down, Ma'am."
"Where's my husband!?" she asks again her eyes dead set on the nurse.
Appearing in the doorway C.D. knocks on the open door, "Can we come on?"
"Visiting hours aren't until-" the nurse begins when C.D. and Angela flash their badges she stops, "Come in."
"Where is my husband!?" Mrs. Castra asks confused. "I want to see him."
"I'm Inspector DeLorenzo this is my partner Inspector Reide. We wanted to ask you a few questions."
"Okay, but where is my husband?"
"He's in custody." C.D. replied.
"Why!?"
"For attempted murder."

After not finding anything in the refrigerator Jinny closes it and grabs a bag of chips from the cupboard and walks into the living room where Teddy was just hanging up the phone.
"What was that all about?" Jinny asks walking to the couch and sitting down with accompanied by the chips.
"How do you feel about dinner tonight?"
"I was hoping we'd have dinner." Jinny laughs and puts a chip in her mouth.
Theodore smiles ,"With Matthew,his girlfriend Samantha, and uh my parents."

Yeah, definitely. The best is still yet to come. Lots of unexpected things to come.. We walk it threw each months with the Holidays and stuff like that! We're actually in the process of working on the month of March where Jinny does deliver. Not quite to it, but getting there. Jeanie has just finished the baby shower and stuff (Let me tell you. It's fantastic!!) So lots yet to come. Trying to get you guys passed Ben's birthday soon. lol

Returning a look that totally said 'You have got to be kidding' Jinny reply's, "What? I thought he wasn't in town until Sunday."
"His plans changed. He's busy the rest of the weekend. Mom and Dad are on for tonight. It's up to you if we are." he responds.
"Why don't you go? You know, and just have a nice time seeing your brother and your family. I'll stay here. If you don't get out of there too late you can drop back by."
Theodore comes and sits down beside her, "Matthew will really enjoy meeting you, Jinny. My parents have been asking how you are. It'll be a nice dinner."
Jinny looks at him. She could tell he was serious. If she wasn't going he wasn't either. So she knew what her answer had to be. Still she doesn't say anything for a moment still looking at him.
"Anything on the menu is yours." he laughs.
"Bribery doesn't work, Teddy." she reply's and begins to scoot herself to the end of the couch. "I'm going. We're going, and not because I can get a major lasagna plate either." she reply's with a laugh. "Although that does sound pretty good, but I'm going so you get to see your family." Jin adds getting up from the couch then turns around. "Sure you don't just want to go by yourself and have a nice time?"
"I'll have a better time if you're there." he responds looking up to her.
"Fiiiine." she shakes her head. "I just.... Gotta change real quick. Call your brother back and say we're coming."
Theodore gets up and walks over,"Thank You." he reply's resting his hand on her belly and kisses her gently.
She breaks it off, "Okay okay..none of this right now. Or we'll never get there." Jinny laughs, "I have something to show you later though." then walks down the hall. Teddy calls after her, "Something to show me?" he asks.
"You got it." Jinny calls back from inside her room.

"Inspectors, he didn't do this to me." the woman said looking at CD and Angela.
"What do you mean? Did someone else do this to you?" Angela asks with a bit of sympathy in her voice.
"Yes.." she hesitates. "It wasn't my husband.."
"Ma'am, you'll have to clarify that." C.D. reply's.
"What do you mean it wasn't your husband?" Angela adds.
"It wasn't my husband." Mrs. Castra says.
"Then you won't mind telling us how his finger prints got on the knife that you were stabbed by."
"It was our kitchen knife. My husband did not stab me. He wouldn't have raised a hand to me...ever."
"Care to explain?" Angela adds.
"Yes, the knife that stabbed me was...our kitchen knife. My husband had used it the night before for dinner." she explains.

Theodore's arm around Jinny the two began to walk up to the entrance of the Italian Restaurant the sign above the door read "Nonna Rose" standing in front was Mr. and Mrs. Blumenthal. Mrs. Blumenthal wore a long dark color dress and a nice medium length coat buttoned in front of her. Mr. Blumenthal wore a suit the same as Teddy. Though Mr. Blumenthal wore his with a white shirt, Teddy's with a dark blue. Jinny wore a blue sweater and the black pants she had bought just the night before with Magda, her brown coat wrapped tightly around her.

"Hey you two!" Mr. Blumenthal says as soon as they come close. "Long time no see." he adds meeting his son with a hug. He then puts his attention on Jinny, "Looking' good, hunny." Mr. Blumenthal hugs her while Teddy hugs his mom, "Hi Mom."
"Hi Theodore." she smiles.
"So Matthews not here yet?" Teddy asks letting go of his mom and putting his arm back around Jinny.
"No he hasn't turned up yet. I'm anxious to meet this Samantha." Mr. Blumenthal replies.
"Yeah, I know." Theodore agrees then leans down toward Jinny, "We had time."
Jinny looks at him and smirks shaking her head.
"How are you feeling, Jinny?" Mrs. Blumenthal speaks up.
Jinny nods, "I'm holding up." she smiles.
The four then falls into silence as they wait for Matthew. After a couple minutes Jinny responds, "It's kind of chilly tonight, huh?"
"Oh, gosh, I'm sorry hon." Mrs. Blumenthal reply's. "Let's go inside."
"That sounds like a good idea." Mr. Blumenthal asks.
"Why didn't you say anything before, Jin?" Theodore asks.
Jinny shrugs, "It's not anything big." she reply's walking into the door Mr. Blumenthal was holding open. She walks in after Mrs. Blumenthal followed closely by Theodore then his father.

Walking back into the station from interviewing Mrs. Castra at the hospital. She had explained everything to them as well as agreed to come in to sign a formal statement which would pretty much sum up their case, before checking into the mental health center of San Francisco. Both Inspectors walked to their desk for a brief talk about their case before filling Cap in with the details.

All four were now sitting near the door waiting on a table as well as Matthew and Samantha. When the door pushes open and a tall blonde woman walks in followed by a dark haired man. The man was about Mr. Blumenthal's height with lighter hair than Teddy's. When Mr. and Mrs. Blumenthal see him they both stand.

"A Niece?" he grins. "Who would a thought? My little brother was going to be a family man before me."
"Blumenthal?" the woman behind a counter calls out.
"Right here." Mr. Blumenthal responds. Together the six make their way toward the woman that leads them to an empty table near a large window overlooking the Bay.

Magda and Kate had long since gotten back to the station and each was back working Magda on some extra paper work of her and Jinny's. Captain was on the phone, which had been ringing off the hook since she had gotten back from lunch. Amanda had already called twice amongst many others.
After a quick talk over their case CD and Angela approached Kate's office with their case folder in hand. Captain sat at her desk the phone pressed to her ear when Angela and C.D. arrive in the doorway she motions for them to come in.
"Okay, Franklin. Yes, I'll inform Inspectors DiLucca and Johnson. Yes, okay...Bye" she hangs up the phone and looks to the two Inspectors in front of her..

The lighting was dim in the restaurant where the six sat near the window. The moonlight reflected on the bay water below.
"So Samantha, tell us a little bit about yourself." Mr. Blumenthal says looking across the table at the blonde sitting by his son. "How did you two meet?" he asks.
"I am a Junior Advertisement Specialist."
Mrs. Blumenthal nods with a smile.
"Samantha was in the Clinic for to see one of my Collogues for an appointment. I saw her in the waiting room, and wanted to get to know her."
Samantha giggles softly, "And our relationship has blossomed from that moment on."
Jinny gives a look and shakes her head slightly with a smirk. She couldn't help herself, "So, uh love at first sight."
"I see. Well I'm happy for you two." Mr. Blumenthal nods once.
Samantha replies, "Yeah I suppose you could say that." she smiles in Jinny’s direction.
"Uh-huh." Jinny reply's closing her mouth with a nod.
Theodore smirks knowing Jinny wanted to say something he pats her leg under the table.
"Mom Dad... Samantha and I are engaged to be married."
Mrs. Blumenthal's eyes widened, "Engaged!?" she asks.
"Yes, Mom."
"When did this all happen, Son?" his father asks.
"Samantha and I have been going out for over 6 months now. I proposed a month ago."
"A month and a half ago, dear." she speaks up.
Jinny gives another look and laughs softly to herself. This girl seemed just so perfect to a fault.. and...girly. A lot like the girl she had met from Teddy's Birthday, Jenny.
"And we're hearing about it now?" Mrs. Blumenthal replies.
"Mom, I thought it was best to tell you in person. I thought you'd all be happy for us."
"We are, Matthew." his father reply's. "Just wish you would have given us some indication.
"I did. How many times have you met any of my other girlfriend's?" he asks.

CD and Angela had filled the Captain in on the fact that Mrs. Castra had inflicted the stabbing on herself in attempt of suidice and would be checking into a mental institution as soon as she was stable enough. CD sat at her desk writing the last few details in the case folder for Mrs. Castra as Angela walked up and said, "So CD do you have any plans for tonight?" CD replied, "No just going home probably and fixing supper." Angela said, "Well Daniel is working late tonight and I was wondering if you wanted to pick up a bite to eat?" C.D. replied, "Sure, where did you want to go to?" Angela replied, "Anchorside is fine with me, unless you want to go somewhere else?" CD said, "That is fine, just let me finish this then we can go."

After exchanging best wishes and had arranged for a small family get together for Thanksgiving Jinny and Theodore began walking across the driveway to the car. Jinny's coat wrapped tightly around her the cold wind from the water blowing her hair back. She kept one hand in front of her holding the front of her coat closed and the other a hold of Teddy's.
Theodore walks to the passenger’s side of the car and unlocked Jinny's door first and waited until she was inside before closing it. It was getting very cold, and a drop of rain hit the side of his face as he walks to the other side. Jinny had already unlocked his door and had her arms folded in front of her.
"Damn it's cold out." she says after he closes the door inside the car.
"Yeah it's beginning to rain too."
"It's the wind that gets to me."
Theodore agrees, puts the key into the ignition, starts the car and pulls out of the parking space heading back to Jinny's place. A short ways down the road he leans over slightly and turns on the heater. A burst of cold air hits both in the face before the warm air sets in. The sprinkle of rain had now turned into a steady rainfall on the front window.
"I take it you're not goin' to be making cookies in the kitchen with Samantha for Thanksgiving?" Theodore glances at Jinny.
"Oh please. The girl is something out of 90210. She's not for real."
"False, huh?" Teddy asks.
Jinny looks over at him, "Hell ya. False like Marilyn Monroe, Teddy."

Teddy laughs, "You're probably right, huh? It just doesn't seem that far fetched to me. You know?"
"Yeah."
"I mean. If someone would have told me a year ago I was going to become a father in the near future. I wouldn't have believed it...but now. You sitting here beside Me." he motions to her. "It's just so real, and we've had a little while to come to terms with it."
"Who are you trying to fool? You were set with the idea at the get go. But yeah, I know what you mean. Even a month ago when I was told I was pregnant. I asked the doctor if he had the right person." she laughs.
"You didn't."
"I did." Jinny laughs and nods.
"You're okay with it now though." he reply's. "You are, right?"
"I'm here aren't I?" she smiles. "It was just a lot of change in the past few months to actually grasp all of a sudden."
"Definitely. So uh." Theodore grins and looks at her. "What's this 'surprise' you have?"
"Oh nuh-uh. I'm not telling you. You'll just have to wait and see."
"See?" he glances over with a smile.
"Yes you will." she grins moving her hair from her face.

Kate pulled into the driveway and turned off the engine. It was nice having Amanda home. She gathered her purse and work she had brought home for the night and started for the door. Kate pushed open the front door and saw Amanda sleeping on the couch with the remote on the coffee table besides her. Kate walked over and removed the cover from the top of the couch and gently laid it over her daughter. She picked up the remote and quickly turned off the TV as she walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water out of the refrigerator and looked what else looked good for her supper.

After hanging their jackets on the coat hooks attached to the wall Theodore walks over to the couch and sits down. Shortly accompanied by Jinny whom stretches slightly before sitting beside him.
"Did you have a nice dinner?" Theodore asks looking over at Jinny resting beside him leaning gently on his side his arm around her.
"Yeah, I did. It was a nice change having all the attention on Samantha for once." she reply's.
"Thank you for going."
"You made it sound like I didn't have much of a choice. Otherwise you weren't going."
He nods with a soft laugh, "Yeah. I didn't want to leave you here while I was out having dinner."
"I figured you'd enjoy the break. Besides it's your family, Teddy."
Theodore sits up a little so he could look to her eyes, "Why are you always saying I'd enjoy a break? This whole week we hadn't seen each other hardly at all. At Anchorside earlier was the longest I've saw you for at least a week and a half. Phone calls help, but they're not much. I've missed you. Our jobs just take us different ways, and when we get home. Especially since you being pregnant now you don't feel like going out after a 10 hour shift."
"So this is my fault?" she asks.
"No, Jinny it's not your fault. It's not anyone’s fault. We've just got to work out a way to see each other more often. With it the way it is now. I'm not happy."
"Me too." she reply's. We can work on it okay?" she asks in a low voice.
"Okay." he smiles at leans to her and kisses her on the lips.
Jinny pulls back suddenly, "Whoa."
"Wh- what is it?" he asks alarmed.

She shifts and takes his hand, "More fluttering." she reply's placing his hand on her stomach. "Can you feel it? That time it surprised me. This is still rather new to me." Jinny continues.
His hand pressed against her stomach he felt her breathe in and out then he feels a slight movement. It was real faint, but it was still there. Teddy's face lit up his expression hadn't changed from the small smile. Jinny quit talking and was quiet as his hand stayed gently on her.
"You feel it?" she asks again. Figuring she had the answer to that from his actions.
"Yes." he nods slowly in almost a trance. "She's moving." he reply's looking up to her eyes with a large grin. "I can't believe it. I can actually feel her."
Jinny laughs, "Yeah, I know." she grins looking down at his hand.
"So this is what you've been feeling? It's amazing." He replies.
"Yeah, just a lot lighter. This time when she moved it startled Me." she smiled and looked at Theodore.
"And, I got to be here." Theodore replied with a smile. After another moment of feeling her he looks at Jinny, "I don't want to miss any of her special moments, Jinny."
"You won't." she replied putting her hand on his cheek and moving in to meet him with a kiss. "You'll be here."

Magda had just tucked Ben into bed and was getting things ready for the birthday party tomorrow. It was hard to believe that it was 8 years ago tomorrow that she had given birth to Ben and now he was going to be 8 years old. Tine sure has flown over the last 8 years. Magda set down and was thinking about how much Gabriel had actually missed when he walked out of her life after she had told him she was pregnant. He had missed out on all of Ben's firsts. Magda was glad that Ben was getting to know his dad, but there were all the trust issues that she couldn't get off her mind. She wished that he had waited to purpose. They hadn't been together for that long when he asked her to marry him. Maybe that was his way of telling her he was back for good. But the little voice in the back of her head just wouldn't let her forget that he left her when she had told him she was pregnant in the first place. Magda thought to herself, Enough of this I need to get things ready for Ben's party tomorrow. Magda got up and went to her bedroom to get her checklist for the party.

Jinny breaks off a kiss that she and Theodore were sharing sitting beside each other on the couch. She smiles, "I'll be right back. Stay here." and makes her way up from the couch.
"What?" Teddy asks with a smile.
"Stay right there." she puts her palm to him and disappears down the hall.
Theodore smiles and stays where he was told. Not sure what she was doing. He heard the bedroom door close.
A few minutes later Jinny cracks the door, and walks out her black robe around her into the front room.
"Ready for your surprise?" Jinny asks standing near the hall facing him still sitting on the sofa.
"Yes.." he smiles and stands.
"Well… get over here." she grins and motions to him.

He walks over and leans down and their lips meet in a soft kiss that breaks off quickly. Jinny then turns around and walks down the hall leaving Teddy standing near the hall.
"Where are you going?" Teddy asks following her with a slight laugh.
"You will just have to come with me to find out what your surprise is." Jinny says as she mischievously continues toward the bedroom. Teddy entered the bedroom door and saw Jinny waiting for him. Theodore walked over to Jinny and said, "So where is my surprise?" Jinny leaned up and kissed Theodore on the lips softly then backed up while she had her hands on the side of her robe and slowly starts to remove the robe. Theodore was waiting patiently to see what his surprise was. Jinny had on a slinky black teddy(aka-short nightgown?lol) that she had purchased the other night with Magda. Teddy slowly walked over to Jinny and placed his hands on her waist as he says, "I like my surprise Jinny." Jinny replied, "I wasn't sure you would like it or not. I got it when I was out with Magda the other night." Theodore pulled Jinny gently to him and said, "I love it Jinny and I will love taking it off you." Jinny smiled at his remark as she leaned up to kiss him. Jinny broke the kiss and replied; "I think I am going to like having you take it off me." Theodore responded by leaning down for another kiss that quickly turned more passionate as Jinny moved her right hand to his cheek.

Today the wind was blowing, but the sun was out and bright, "Come on, Birthday Boy. We've got to go pick up your cake and get to Chucky Cheese. Your friends are going to start arriving before we're set up." she calls down the hall to her son.
"Okay!!" Ben replied running out of his room into the living room.
"Don't run in the house, Ben" Magda says as her cell phone begins to ring. "Hello?"
Ben opens the front door ready to leave. "Come on, Mom!"
"Where's my keys?" she asks to herself as she gets some news on the telephone. “Sorry. Yes, Loraine I hope you feel better. It's okay. Of course Jeremiah can still come. Okay, yeah just drop him off in about an hour. Okay, sure. Bye." she pushes the end call button and begins lowering it down when it rings again.
"Come oooon. We're going to be late."

"Oh hey Jin." Magda says bending over picking the pillows from the sofa up and looking under them.
"Mom!!" Ben says in a whiney voice.
"One minute, Jinny." Magda puts her phone down and raises her finger to her son. "Benjamin if you don't stop whining we're never going to go. I'll cancel the Party, and take your present back! Now if you'd like to get out of here any quicker help me find my keys" she says looking at him. Ben widens his eyes and looks at her, slamming the door walking to his room.
"Benjamin!" she calls after him and then sighs. "Great." she says and puts the phone back to her ear.
"Whoa, Mag, what's wrong?" Jinny asks hearing what she had just said to Ben.
"Nothing, Jinny."
"Yeah, I've heard that one before."

"You want mustard, Mom?" Amanda asks looking to her mom across the counter over the bread she was taking out to make a sandwich for each of them. Kate sat in a stool. She had her glasses on going through her mail. She looks over her glasses, "Yeah."
"Ew, I can't believe you like it."
"What's wrong with mustard, Amanda?"
"It's so.." she makes a face. "I don't know. I just don't like it."
"Suit yourself."
Amanda then turns around to grab another plate, but she goes to the wrong cupboard then remembers and opens the cupboard her mom had now put the plates and bowls. "Why did you have to change this place around? I can't find anything anymore."
"I thought we covered this on the phone." Kate replied taking off her glasses and putting the bills in a pile and sticking them aside.
"We did." Amanda pauses and takes out the meat. "It's just.... different."
"Now who has a problem with change?" Kate asks with a smirk to her daughter. Walking to the other side of the counter to help her with lunch.

Whoa, are you serious!! You know where Atascadero is? That's the town I used to live in before we moved to Las Vegas. That's real cool you know where Paso is... Most people are like, huh? haha. Atascadero is like, what, 10 miles from there or something.

We didn't get home last night until late because the freeway was closed out by Tahachapi or however you spell it. So we had to back-track and go into Santa Clarita, San Fernando, and some other parts of LA to even go home. We were supposed to get home at 7:00 we finally made it home at 11:00 from being on the road from 4:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. last night, my back hurt and didn't feel like getting online. Anyway, I'll post more once I get on my computer.

Hey I hope you feel better! My whole family is sick, so I kinda know how you feel, but i wasn't in a car for about 19 hours either, but I hope you feel better.

"No, don't bother. I'll see you at the Birthday Party." she reply’s.
"Okay, thanks Jinny. Bye" she flips lines. "Hello?" Magda asks finally catching sight of her keys on the floor near the couch. She leans over and grabs them.
"Hey Mag. Ben already for the party?" Gabriel asks.
"Yeah, no. Well he will be in just a minute."
"Everything okay there? You want me to come help you with anything?"
"No, Gabriel. I'm getting everything done."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes..." she pauses and she begins to walk toward Ben's room. "Actually. Can you pick up Benjamin's cake?"
"Sure thing, Magda. Where Ben picked it out at, right?"
"That's right. Thanks a lot, Gabriel. I owe you." she says hanging up the phone and walking to Ben's room.

Theodore was standing at the kitchen table cutting the wrapping paper the size they needed to fit it around Ben's new remote control truck.
"Where the hell did I put that tape?" Jinny asks pushing stuff around in her desk drawer in her bedroom.
"I think I have some in my briefcase, Jin. I'll be right back." Theodore says putting down the paper on the table and walking over to the door.
"Wait! I got it." Jin says pulling it out from another drawer. "Catch." she tosses it to Theodore whom appeared at the other end of the hall.
"Thanks." Teddy reply's catching it and walking over to the table.
"Do you think he'll even really like that, Theodore?" Jinny asks after walking back into her room and closing the desk drawer. Now coming back into the front room Jinny drops herself onto one of the chairs next to the table and watches Theodore.

After a moment she stands back up. "I forgot to buy him a Birthday card."
Theodore tapes the middle of the wrapping paper down to the box and begins to fold it over, "No big deal. We can stop by and grab one on the way. Where is it again?"
"Chucky Cheese." Jinny replied unenthusiastically.
"I see." Theodore laughs and starts to do the end of the present and Jinny comes over and starts on the other.
"Yeah, can't wait. I love the kid, but all I want to do is get in see him open his gift and get out. Can I have some tape?" she asks putting her hand out her other holding the wrapping in place.
"A clean get away." Jinny adds. "Thanks." she takes the piece of tape Theodore hands to her and seals the end.

Standing on the front step of a house Frank straightens his shirt out a bit and extends his arm out and pushes the button beside the door to ring the bell.
Walking over to her front door C.D. looks out the peephole to see Frank in front of it sprayed a couple squirts of breath freshener in his mouth and then blowing into his hand. After he finds it satisfactory he grins and drops the freshener into his pocket. C.D. rolls her eyes. Frank then extends his arm out again to push the doorbell so she opens the door quickly. His reflexes not the best he rings the bell again her standing right in front of him.
"Why Hello there, Inspector." Frank grins at her.

Magda and Ben began walking up to the entrance of Chucky Cheese as Gabriel pulls into the parking lot.
"Hey there's Dad." Ben notices his father and points to him.
"You're right." Magda notices Gabriel and smiles following Ben to his father’s car.
Gabriel gets of the drives side. "Hey Ben, you ready for your party?" he asks with a smile as he closes the door.
"Are you kidding?" Ben asks following his dad around the front of the car.
"That's all he's been talking about all week." Magda replies.
Gabriel opens the passenger side door, leans over, and picks up the box that contained the cake. "Mag.." he began standing up. "Can you grab his present from the back?"
"No problem." she reply's her voice low she opens the backdoor and looks down on the seat at the box covered in gift wrap with balloons printed over it.

Yeah, we're just about the same age. I'll be 17 July 1st. So you're older, but hey..That's so cool! Of course I've heard of Santa Maria I've been there SO many times. That's where we did all our Christmas Shopping and went to the mall there frequently. Damn we lived close to one another. Okay, enough babbling I'll post more. I'm sick so bear with me, guys!!

"So, anyone here yet?" Gabe asked closing the door behind him once Magda had gotten the box from the seat.
"I don't know! We haven't been inside yet. I've got lots of friends coming, dad."
"I remember. I helped you with the invitations."
"That's right, Ben." Magda responds.
Ben laughs, "Oh yeah. So what did you get me?" he asks looking up and his dad as the three proceeds to the door of Chucky Cheese.
Once Gabriel had opened the door and his son and Magda walked in a little boy comes running up to Ben.
"Hey Ben! Happy Birthday." he says stopping front of Ben.
"Hey Jeremy. What’s up?"
The little boy shrugs, "I don't know."
Magda looked over the kids’ heads at Gabriel.
"Let's go play some games!" Jeremy said to Ben. The two boys were about to run off.
"Hey hey, Ben..." Gabriel said.
"What?" he stopped and turned around.
"Don't you think you should go see if any of your other friends are here yet?" his father reply's.
"I agree. That's a good idea." Magda backs him. "Plus we have to go over some rules first."
Ben's face drops slightly, "Okay. Let's go see if anyone is here."
Jeremy shrugs, "Ok"

After stopping to get Ben a birthday card Jinny and Theodore had finally arrived at Chucky Cheese. Jin figured they could go in maybe have a quick bite to eat see him open his present or something to that effect and leave rather quickly. With this in mind Jinny walked through the glass door of the pizza place that Theodore had held open for her. Together the two walked in Theodore carried the large birthday box that contained Ben's monster truck.
"You see them anywhere?" Jinny asks looking around as a little kid runs in front of her. "Damn kid's run wild here."
"It is after all Chucky Cheese, Jin." Theodore replies.
"Yeah, I know. A wonder how the place stays in one piece."
"Consider it as one of the great mysteries of the world." Teddy answers still trying to find Magda or Ben. Some familiar face at least.
"Tell me about it." Jinny reply's and straight in front of them toward the back of the Pizza Place was balloons set up, and Magda fixing up the presents to one side of the table.
"Hey Guys!" came a voice from the right of them.
Jinny and Theodore glance over and sees Ben standing beside them another little boy with him. "You here for my party?" he asks.
"No, Ben, you know. Theodore and I frequent Chucky Cheese in our spare time. All the time." Jinny replies.
Benjamin gives a looks and asks, "Really?"
"No, not really." Jinny laughs slightly, "Of course we're here for your party. We got ya a present too." she motions to the box Teddy is holding.
"Happy Birthday!" Theodore adds in.
"Whoa!" Ben looks at his friend then back to the two. "Thanks you guys!"
"You're very welcome."
"Don't mention it." Jinny says.
"Mom is over there." Ben points.

Kate and Amanda had finished lunch and now were sitting in the living room on the couch Amanda flipping channels on the television. Kate, her glasses on, sat reading through some paperwork while Amanda kept on clicking.
"Can't you watch one program at a time?" Kate speaks up.
Amanda looks over, "Oh sorry, Mom." she stops at a channel, a talk show, and begins to watch. Her mother lets out a low sigh and begins working again. The TV was left alone until the show cut to a commercial and Amanda flipped the channel once. Studied the screen the flicked it again.
"Amanda." Kate says without looking up.

"Hey Mag, what's up?" Jinny says approaching Magda noticing Gabriel was there.
"Hey Jin."
"Hey Jinny." Gabriel says.
"Oh, hey Gabe. This is Theodore." Jinny reply's putting her hand on Teddy's arm.
"Nice to meet you." Gabe replies putting a hand out.
"Uh-" Theodore looks down at the box in his arms. "Where can I put this?"
"Just.." Magda glances around. "Here let me." she takes it from him and puts it over near the wall.
"So.." Jinny says right before Ben and Jeremy run up behind her to the table not wearing any shoes.
"Come on, Dad! You too Theodore!" Ben says.
"Where are your shoes, Ben?" Magda asks.
Both boys look at each other. "Over there.." Jeremy points behind them. Which was basically the whole building.
"Where?"
"By the play thing." Ben adds.
"Don't you think you should go get them?"
"We will, Mom. Come on you guys!"
"I can come with you." Magda reply's since Gabriel didn't look much into it.
Ben looks down then to his dad, "Please, Papi."
"Okay, Theodore and I'll catch up with you. Go grab your shoes. That's if Theodore is staying?" Gabe questions.
The boys then look over at Teddy. "Sure, we can stay awhile." he nods.
"Great." Ben jumps and the two boys turn and run off.
"Walk Guys!!" Magda calls after them. They hear her and obey until they turn the corner and then they begin sprinting again.

Frank looks across the room and C.D. "How about you and I go and grab something to eat?"
"How about you answer me a question?"
"Okay, shoot." Frank grins and sits down on the couch.
"Look, Frank. You’re okay to work with every so often. So don't get me wrong."
"Yea?"
"It's just...well. It’s just. You can't just keep showing up. It's becoming annoying."
"Oh, I see." Frank looks at her. "But it wasn't in the beginning?"

Everyday I think... "Gee this fic is so long... I dont have time ti read it all. Shoud've just started int eh beginning when she stated it" but today... Angela started the dishwasher after her and Daniel had finished their early lunch. Angela called out from the kitchen "So what do you want to do for the rest of the day Daniel?" Daniel walked into the kitchen and said, "I thought we could go out shopping for the dining room set that you have been wanting. Angela replied, "Are you sure that is what you want to do on your weekend off from the clinic?" Daniel replied, "We can always go looking and maybe we could grab a bite to eat and a movie afterwards." Angela replied, "I will go get my purse and even if we don't find the right table set now we can have a nice afternoon and evening out."

After Theodore's goodbyes Gabriel leans over and gives Magda a quick kiss on the lips. Then the two guys turn and walk off as Jeremy and Ben come back around the corner.
Jinny looks at Magda with a grin, "Whoa, Mag."
"What?" she asks leaning over and fixing the tablecloth that was sprawled across the tabletop.
"What? You and Gabriel...I didn't know."
"Know what?"
"Are you blind or just dense? He kissed you, Magda."

"You have something you want to tell me?" Jinny asks.

I know I have old readers here too... lol.. I just have not been online a lot lately since I've been having to let my brother on my computer and this and that. Plus, trying to get all the freaking pictures on my sites up and working again which is taking a hell of a long time. Since now my page builder seems to 'refuse' to upload. Don't ask me why, it must be lazy or something. Constantly telling me I have the wrong User ID and Password, and I know for a fact that's not it so who knows. So I've been having to upload pics to Geocities, and put them on pages from there. It takes a lot of time... Anyway, enough of my babbling... Ok, one more thing..You're welcome, Susan. I just don't know if I am ready for all that Gabriel wants. I guess I need to figure out what I want with this relationship then let Gabriel know. What I meant by you are so lucky is that Theodore didn't run from you, from his responsibilities when you told him you were pregnant and look at the two of you now. You are back together and he is in love with you. Theodore is eager to be a part of his daughter's life. I am impressed he goes to all your appointments and is buying stuffed animals for Alexis already and she isn't even born. You got a great guy Jin. Let's face it a lot of guys may not have taken the news so well."
Jinny looked over at Theodore playing with Ben and Jeremy. She smiled as she looked over at Mag and replied, "Theodore is great and he worries a lot about us. Believe me... I am lucky and I know it. He didn’t have to jump back into my life. That’s the last thing I wanted him to feel, like he was being dragged back into something that wasn't there anymore to begin with, you know? When I found out I was pregnant, I didn't want this to bring us back together cause I didn't want to have him resenting me for putting us in that situation. I wasn't going to have a baby bring us back together cause that would have been for all the wrong reasons. You know though Mag; it wasn't like that though. When we got back together. It was cause we still had feelings for each other. It wasn't cause we had to get back together because of the baby it was more like we wanted to be with each other. I think that you should talk to Gabriel about everything about him and your trust issues. You might be able to take things slower until he can build that trust up again. If that is what you want in the first place."
"I am not real sure Jin, if that is what I want in the first place."
"Talk to Gabriel and tell him how you feel and all. Tell him that he is pushing to fast. That you need more time."

Just then Theodore walked up behind Jinny and said, "So how are my girls doing?" Magda smiled at Jinny and said, "I best go see if any more kids have arrived yet." Theodore replied, "There was a couple of little boys and there parents talking to Gabriel when I came over here. I think they were wanting to know when to come back to pick up their sons." Magda excused herself as Theodore said, "So how are my girls?" Jinny looked at Theodore and replied, "We are fine but we weren't the ones playing with Ben and Jeremy now were we. How are you feeling after all that?" Theodore replied, "Actually?" Jinny said, "Yes actually how was it?" Theodore said, "Actually it was fun Jin, I know what we are in for when we have Lexi's birthday parties." Jinny replied, "Teddy we have a ways to go before she is this age and inviting friends over to her parties." Theodore replied, "I know but at least I know what to expect when she gets Ben's age." Theodore leaned over and gave Jinny a kiss as Magda rounded the corner with three more presents in her hand heading towards Jinny and Teddy. Magda smiled to herself as she continued walking to the tables that had been sit up for the party. As she approached Jinny and Teddy she cleared her throat to let them know she was approaching the tables. Jinny broke off the kiss as Magda said, "There are 3 more little boys that showed up." Jinny replied, "Looks like you and Gabriel will have your hands full." Magda replied, "Not just Gabriel and I but you and Teddy also." Jinny asked, "What do you mean me and Teddy also?" Magda said, "Four boys out of the 15 that I invited have shown up and you and Teddy are staying and helping right?" Jinny looked at Teddy and replied, "We were only going to stay for a little while." Theodore said, "If you really need the help we can stay longer." Magda said, "That would be great cause Loraine cancelled out on me cause she wasn't feeling well."

Angela and Daniel pulled into the parking lot of Home Furnishings, Angela said, "It would be nice if we could find one without much trouble then we can go visit that art museum that you have been wanting to check out." Daniel replied, "That would be nice then from there we can grab a bite before we go to the movie theater. Just one thing Angie can we see something that is not in the romantic department. I don't mind if it has some romance in it. I just would like to see something that has some action to the movie and a storyline." Angela replied, "Hey I don't always make you watch all those romantic movies." Daniel replied, "What is that Lifetime movies that we always have to watch?" Angela replied, "I don't make you watch them all the time. I guess something with a little action won't be so bad. Just one movie I do not want to see is Lord of The Rings, okay?" Daniel replied, "I can deal with that." Daniel took Angela's hand as they headed into the store to find the dining room set his wife had been wanting for the last couple of months.

This is getting really good. Can we please get past the birthday party though? I have had my fill of children's parties. Yesterday, we had a birthday party for my four year old at Pizza Hut and there were two other parties going on at the same time. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Migraine! Anyway, I can't wait for more!:)

Frank stood there waiting for CD to make up her mind whether she wanted to go with him to grab a bite to eat. Frank said, "So it is annoying with me just showing up out of the blue, tell me CD what else do you have to do now that you are amongst the single again?" CD replied, "If you are wanting me to say yes about going and getting something to eat with you, then you are going about it the wrong way. You don't stand here and insult someone you are trying to get to do something with." Frank replied, "You were the one that said that I was annoying and that you need your space. What do you want me to do call before I come over? I thought we had been having some fun together hanging out and all. It is not like I am trying to get you into bed or anything. Not that it is a bad idea. Just kidding CD . I just thought that we could you know just hang out once in a while and enjoy each others company." CD responded. "I guess there is no harm to spend time every now and then together as friends, but you need to just stop showing up you could call and see if I have any plans or something before just showing up and expecting me to do whatever." Frank replied, "I suppose I could do that. So what do you say want to go grab a bite to eat as friends?" CD replied, "I suppose that would be okay." Frank replied, "Great we can go wherever you want." CD replied, "Anchorside is fine."

Theodore and Gabriel went to gather up all the little boys that had arrived from the play area as the waiters had informed them that pizza would be served in about 10 minutes. Jinny looked at Magda and said, "This is a way to have a birthday party they do all the work for you. I will have to remember that when Lexi gets old enough. Then there is no mess to clean up at home." Magda replied, "Yeah and they even play Happy Birthday for you also and you get birthday cake also. It is an easy way to entertain all these kids for a couple of hours and Ben seems to like it. You also get game tokens to split amongst the kids." Ben came running around the corner followed by Jeremy, Robbie, Jeremiah, Tommy, Sean, Trevor, Brian, Donnie, Joe, Kenny, Dustin, Kyle, Ethan, Josh, Timmy and last but not least Johnny and Theodore and Gabriel taking up the rear. Magda said, "Ben you and all your friends need to find a place to sit at the pizza should be arriving soon." Ben said, "Can we play some more after we have pizza and cake and of course open up the presents." Ben looked over at the pile of presents that was on the table and said, "Wow, I have a lot of presents to open." Magda smiled at her son and replied, "Yes you do and you can go back and play some games after cake and ice cream and of course the presents." Jinny smiled at Ben's enthusiasm over the presents as Theodore walked up behind Jinny and placed his hands on Jinny's stomach and watched as the boys all took their seats for the pizza and cake. Magda noticed how much Theodore was into being a father and looked at Gabriel and thought at least Theodore won't be missing out on everything that Gabriel had. Gabriel walked over to Magda and said, "Let me know when to go get the big present I brought over here yesterday for you." Magda replied, "When they bring the cake out and everyone sings and all you can watch the kids while I run and get it." Gabriel said. "I can do that." Gabriel leaned in and gave Magda a kiss on the check before he went to take his seat. Jinny looked up at Theodore and said, "We should probably take our seats also." Theodore replied, "Okay" As Theodore was about to move his hands from Jinny's stomach he felt his daughter kick and looked at Jinny and said, "I still can't get over the fact that I can feel Lexi moving it really is amazing every time I feel her kick you."

CD and Frank walked into Anchorside and looked for a table to sit at. Frank pointed to one not far from the door as they made their way towards the table. The waitress comes over with two glasses of water and said, "Would you like menus today or do you know what you want?" CD asked, "What is the special today?" The waitress replied, "We have a special on Fish and Chips, and Pastrami on Rye." CD said, "I will take the Pastrami on Rye with fries and a Coke." The waitress looked at Frank and said, "And for you sir?" Frank said, "I will have the Pastrami on Rye and Fries also but I would like a draft with that." The waitress left with the order as Frank said, "See this is kinda of nice." CD replied, "The verdict is still out on that."

The waiters had just brought out the cake with 8 candles burning brightly. Everyone started singing Happy Birthday to Ben as the waiter put the cake in front of him to blow out the candles. Gabriel said, "Wow 8 years old already." Magda was standing over by Jinny and remarked, "If you had been here for the first 71/2 years you would know that it hasn't flown by." Jinny looked at Magda and replied, "Mag, he is here now and he seems like he is trying to make it work." Magda looked at Jinny and said, "But for how long?" Jinny put her hand on her stomach as she looked over at Theodor. Jinny looked at her friend and said, "I don't know Mag. That is something you need to sit down with Gabriel and talk to him about." Magda looked at Jinny and said, "I know. I just can't seem to get over the fact that he walked out on us when the going got tough. Want to come with me to get Ben's present?" Jinny replied, "Sure." Theodore was standing over by Ben and was watching him and the other little boys interacting with one another. He was lost in thought thinking that in a few years Jinny and him would be celebrating Lexi's birthdays with her friends. Ben had finished his cake in record time cause he knew that after the cake came presents. He looked over to see where his mom was so he could start on the presents but he didn't see her. Ben then looked at his father and said, "Where is Mom Papi?" Gabriel replied, "She will be right back Ben then you can open up your presents." Ben didn't see h is mom and Jinny come from behind with his present in tow. Magda rested the bike on the table and went over behind her son and said, "So Ben are you ready to open those presents over there yet?" Ben looked up at his mom and replied, "Yes I have been ready since we got here." Magda smiled at her impatient son and said, "Well what are you waiting for?" Ben jumped down from his chair and started for his gift when his saw the bicycle leaning up against the table with a bright red bow on it. The expression on his face was priceless and Magda had caught the whole thing on the video camera. Ben turned around and said, "Thanks Mom, I really wanted a bicycle." Magda looked at her son and said, "You have to use all the safety equipment before you go riding it."

Jinny smiled at her partner's remark as Theodore came over behind Jinny and put his arms around her as she leaned back into him. Ben quickly tore thru the pile of presents that were waiting for him as he thanked everyone for all his presents. Ben walked over to his dad and said, "Thanks for the baseball cards and all the sports equipment." Gabriel replied, "No problem Ben we can use all that equipment in the park you can't be using it around anywhere with windows." Ben replied, "Okay dad." Then Ben went over to Jinny and Theodore and said, "I really like that monster truck that you guys got me. Thank you." Jinny replied, "I am glad you liked it Sweet Boy." Magda walked over to her son and asked, "Are you and your friends ready to go play some games?" Ben said, "Yeah can we?" Magda replied, "Yes let me get the tokens and you and the rest can go with your dad over to the play area, while I get Jinny and Theodore to help me get all the presents into the car." Jinny said, "No problem Mag, but after that we are going to take off, I am getting a little tired." Theodore looked concerned and said, "Why don't I go with the kids to the play area and Jinny can come sit down over there and watch us while you and Gabriel load up all the presents in the car." Magda replied, "That is fine. I should have remembered how tired you get just being pregnant. Thanks for all your help guys. When Gabriel and I are done you can go so you can get some rest Jin." Jinny went with Theodore and the kids to the play area as Gabriel helped Magda load the car.

It was a cool overcast Thanksgiving Day in San Francisco, C.D. had already showered and dressed about ready to go to Faith's, her ex-partner's wife's, house. She wasn't exactly looking forward to going nor did she feel comfortable about going. Taking that she knew Dick’s real cause of death, that he had killed himself. For reasons she still was oblivious to. Reasons he certainly hadn't spoken to her about. Had it been about work, a case? His family life? Something she did as a partner?

Anyway it was she was stuck with going for Thanksgiving Dinner tonight with Faith and the kids. Already C.D. had turned down numerous invitations. This time she didn't have Paul, work, nor the heart to turn her down. Besides, she told herself.. It'd be a nice check on how they were all doing after the loss.

Theodore goes to knock on his parent's door, but decides he didn't need to he opens the front door. He and Jinny then walk in hand in hand welcomed by the wonderful 'Thanksgiving' aroma Theodore had grown up with in the Blumenthal house.
Jinny by now had quite a belly, and was now fully into maternity clothes. Like it or not. She had no choice over the matter anymore. Jin wore a long gray sweater and black pants. A coat around her, and her dark hair back in a ponytail.
Teddy let go of her hand and helped her out of her coat when his brother, Matthew, comes from the kitchen.
"Heya Guys." he says when he looks up and notices them. "Hey, Mom..Teddy Bear and Jinny are here." Matthew raises his voice with a smirk to Theodore before heading toward the stairs.
"Hey, where are you going?" Teddy calls after his older brother.
Matthew stops and looks at his watch, "I gotta call Samantha. I told her I'd call her at five. I'm ten minutes late." he reply's before disappearing the rest of the way up the stairs.
Jinny leans slightly toward Theodore, "Can't keep the queen waiting, you know." she smirks.
Before he had time to respond Mrs. Blumenthal comes from the kitchen.

Taking her golden turkey out of the oven Magda sets it on the stovetop, and smiles to herself. The aroma of the turkey had long since filled her apartment.
"Mom, I'm hungr-" Ben stops in the middle of his sentence in the kitchen entrance. "YEA! It's done. Can we eat now?" he questions.
"Ben, it's only 5:30. You're dad isn't due here for another hour. Don't you want to have dinner with him?"
He thinks a moment, "Yeah, I guess." Ben walks further into the kitchen, "But I'm hungry."
Magda laughs slightly, "How? You ate a late lunch."
"That's been forever!!" he reply's.
"Come on, Papi. It's not been forever.." Magda reaches over to a plate of rice crispy treats she had made. "Here." she says about to hand it to her son before pulling it back. "Your hands clean?"
"Yes."
"Ben." she warns.
Her son looks at her.
"Wash your hands. Then you can have this."
"Okay." he smiles and trying to slip passed her to wash his hands in the kitchen.
"In the bathroom."
Ben turns around and looks at her before darting into the living room toward the bathroom.
"With soap." Magda adds as he disappears around the hall.

"Hey Mom." Amanda says with a smile pushing the passengers side door closed to her boyfriends car.
"Hey Sweetie." her mother reply's walking toward her with a smile meeting her with an embrace, "Long time."
"I know."
When Kate opens her eyes she realizes the guy coming around the front of the car certainly wasn't Barry, the man her daughter went to LA with, the dishwasher.
"Oh, Mom, meet Jordan." her daughter says taking the man's arm. He wore a plaid shirt and levis she must say this was one of Amanda's more 'normal' looking boyfriends.
"I'll be damned. He's clean shaven." she thought to herself, but was brought back to earth with the young man extending his hand toward her.
After a quick shake she smiles and the three begin toward the front door of the house.
"So when are we going to Aunt Pam's?" Amanda asks.
Kate looks to her daughter, "Aunt Pam?" she questions.
"Yeah, I assumed we were going over there for dinner?"
"Amanda, I don't need my Sister to cook Thanksgiving Dinner for me. I can do it. In a matter of fact I have, and it's almost finished."
"Okay, Mom." Amanda reply's and then leans toward Jordan as they walk. "Beware of her cooking." she says with a laugh, but still loud enough for her mother to hear.
"I'm sure it's not that bad, Amanda."
"You haven't tried my mom's cooking."

Closing the front door behind her Angela made her way down the path to she and Daniel's car parked in the driveway a dish containing potato salad in hand. Dan shortly followed. The couple was on their way to Angela's father's house for Thanksgiving Dinner. It was going to be just a small get together, just family.

Now sitting at a small table off the side of the Blumenthal's kitchen Jinny, Theodore, and his mother, Heidi, talked.
"We've pretty much summed up the case though. Monday we should wrap it up in Court, hopefully."
"That's great, Theodore. I know how much you've been working on that specific case here for awhile." his mother reply's. Then looks over at Jinny whom sat quietly. "What about you, Jinny. What have you been up to lately?"
Jinny looks down shortly, her hands resting on her belly, "I've um, you know, just been working a lot lately."
"Working? Like, working cases. Isn't that dangerous?"
"Yes, I am still working the streets as usual. Normally, it would be high risk, but our Captain has been assigning my partner, Magda, and I investigations only. It'll be like that until after the baby is born. If I'm lucky I won't have desk duty until last few weeks."
"Don't push yourself, Jin." Teddy adds in. "You know how I feel about that."
"I know, and I know how you feel about this subject. I'm not going to put anyone in danger. I'll quit the Streets before that happens." she smiles.
"I would hope so." Mrs. Blumenthal adds in. "So, Investigations are safe then?"
Jinny shrugs, "Yeah, for the most part. They're just about the safest thing on this job while still working the streets. Unless of course the perp finds we're getting too close before we catch him. That could get graphic." she laughs. Then glances around noticing Theodore and his mother didn't find it amusing. "That's the worse case scenario." she looks, "Hardly happens."
"I see." Heidi Blumenthal stands up and walks over to her pot she had resting on the stove. She takes the lid from it and begins to stir it in a circular motion.

"Do you think of the safety of your daughter?" Mrs. Blumenthal adds.
Jinny gives a look across the kitchen to the back of the woman, "My daughter is safe."
Matthew comes from the hall, "Hey Mom, where's dad?"
"Last time I checked he was in his study, hon." His mother answers with a smile looking back at him. Then turning back toward the pot.
"Thanks." he says before leaving back out of the kitchen.
"How'd you like Samantha, Mom?" Theodore asked. He had waited to ask her this question for a while now. This seemed as good of a time as any.
Heidi glances at her son then back to the pot without answering, "She's a nice lady. Have you two thought about Lamaze?"
"We've checked into a few classes." Theodore replies to his mom. Clearly seeing she didn't want to speak of Sam right now. Since he and his brother were younger no girl was ever 'good enough' for either of her sons. Teddy figured that's how it'd always be. She would just have to get used to them dating, marrying.
"Although the doctor doesn't recommend it real highly until another month and a half at least." Jinny adds.
"Right, the newer the information is the easier it should come. He did say taking it now until the birth would only help matters slightly. So we've decided to wait at least another month."
"We're going to have to adjust our schedules around the classes." Jinny reply's looking at Heidi.
"I say the sooner the better." Heidi says putting down the spoon onto the counter, and placing the lid back onto the pot. "In fact, a friend of mine's daughter is taking Lamaze right now. It's her second child. So she probably could share some first hand information with you." she pauses. "Well she and her husband."
"Mom, you don't have to keep emphasizing husband." Theodore answers.
"I know, but you know. I'm all for the old fashion way. Being married first would have helped."
"Anyway, which friend of your's is it?"
Mrs. Blumenthal opens the refrigerator to grab some carrots, but sees there isn't any. Although she had just bought some three days ago and hadn't used any for dinner. So where had they gone?
"Leslie, you remember Leslie's daughter don't you? Kristine, although maybe you don't since she was a few years older then you."
"Kristine, yeah I remember her. Wow, she's going onto her second child."
"Yes she is.” She turns back around, “One minute, hon." she says stepping out of the kitchen toward the study.

After pushing the doorbell C.D. stood on Faith's doorstep waiting for an answer. She could hear the kid's inside playing about, and the TV on.
"Coming." she heard Faith call from a short distance away before she turned the doorknob and opened the front door greeting the Inspector with a warm smile.
"I'm glad you could make it. The kid's have been looking forward to seeing you. Dinner is almost finished. Hope it's not too early." she says stepping to the side inviting CD in.
"No, no that's fine." the blonde says with a slight smile stepping into the house.
Once her coat was off one of the kid's came around the corner holding his finger looking hard at it, "Mommy." he says before he looks up.
"What, baby? Did you hurt yourself?" Faith asked sympathetically to her son.
The little boy looks up and sees C.D. "You came!" he said with a grin.
C.D. leans down to be at the same level as the little boy, "Yeah, I did. Happy Thanksgiving, Brad." she smiles.
"Happy Thanksgiving."
"So what happened?" she looks at his finger he still hand pointed outward.
"I got a splinter." Brad looks down at it then up at his mom, "It hurts, mom."
"Say, why don't you go wash it, and then your mom can take a look." C.D. responds.
Brad nods once and then begins down the hall. She stands back up.
"Why don't we go into the family room." Faith says motioning for C.D. to follow. "You know, you're good with kids."
C.D. shrugs once and sits down on the sofa, "I guess."
"You are. Want to baby sit sometime?" the woman asks with a laugh.
"Oh, no. I wouldn't know where to start. I don't baby-sit."
"Come on, you mean you can put big bad guys in jail and can't handle a few kids?" Faith jokes.
"You've got it." CD grins.
Faith leans back in her chair when another of Faith's three kids come in from the hallway. This one was her youngest, Kayla. She was three and a half.
"Hi Kayla." C.D. notices Kayla and smiles at the little girl.
Kayla smiles a little and walks to her mom and buries her face into her mother's side.
"She's still shy I see."
"Yeah." Faith nods and looks down at her daughter, "You have a nice nap, babe?"
The girl’s small head nods still not looking out. "Here, sit up." she says to the little girl and sits her up beside her on the couch. She sat very close to her mother.
"You remember C.D.?" her mother asks looking down.
Kayla looks over at the blonde across from them and rubs her eyes. She shakes her head then waits a moment, "yeah." she reply's in a low voice.

After hanging up his jacket on the hook near the door Gabriel rolls up his sleeves. The small apartment was warm from all the cooking Magda had done already today.
"Smells good, Mag." he said walking into the kitchen to where she was. "Just like old times."
Magda scoffed, "Old times? I think I cooked for you back then once? Maybe twice if you were lucky. I wasn't much into cooking until after Ben was born. When I had no choice, but you would know nothing about that."
"Point taken." he nods looking down. "This is our first Thanksgiving together, as a family. Let's try to get along."
"Who's not getting along? I just pointed something out, Gabe."
"Okay okay." he puts his hands out palms facing her. "I get the point. My point is. Let's make this one to remember for Benjamin."
"I've been trying to." she says to him. Magda then turns around toward the turkey on the top of the stove, 'You're one to talk' she says under her breath.
"What? I didn't catch that."
"No, nothing." she reply's.
"Oh okay. I'm going to go let Ben know I'm here."
"Okay." Magda replied turning to watch him walk down the hall to Ben's room, and entering. She didn't plan on being like that to Gabriel. Just all the talk about them being a 'family' and 'old times' didn't set well with her today.

Arriving back into the kitchen Mrs. Blumenthal announces she has to run to the grocery store to pick up a few things. The main reason, for carrots that she had just found out her oldest son, Matthew and his father had eaten without her knowing.
"I have to make a quick trip to the store." Heidi comments. "Jinny, would you like to ride along?"
"I um.." she glances at Theodore whom gives her and encouraging look. "I- sure." Jinny answers.
"Great, let me grab my purse and we can be on our way."
"Take your time."

"Hey Son, long time no see. I heard you've been spending a lot of time at the clinic. Glad you could make it." Angela's dad gives Dan a quick hug and the two walk into the house.
"Angie, where's your famous potato salad you made last night?" Dan asks beginning to take off his coat
"Oh, I forgot it in the car." Angela replies putting her coat on the hook.
Being the nice guy that he was Daniel pulls back on his jacket, "I'll go grab It." he said making his way out the door closing it behind him.
"Your cousin, Teresa is coming over tonight, Angela." her dad comments.
"Oh, that'll be great to see her."

The mechanical doors of 'Vons' open and Mrs. Blumenthal walks in Jinny a few paces behind. While Heidi grabs a shopping carry basket Jinny catches up and stops out of the way to wait for Teddy's mother, her hands in her coat pockets.
"I'm glad you decided to come with." Heidi reply's as the two women begin their way toward the vegetable area of the store.
"Um, It's really no problem. Nice to get out." Jinny answered thinking her words through thoroughly.
"Yeah, it's a nice way to get to know each other. Since, You're going to be part of our family soon enough."
Jinny looks at her, "What do you mean?"
"It's just a matter of time, Jinny. You and I both know that."
"What are you talking about?"
"You know, until my son asks you to marry him."
Jinny shakes her head with a soft laugh, trying to brush it off, "No, nuh-uh, I don't think that's going to happen."
"What? You expect to have my Son's baby and not have him marry you?"
Again she shakes her head, "No that's not what I'm saying. Listen, I'm not trying to screw your son over. So if that's what you think you can quit it right now. Right now, I have a lot on my mind. We haven't even spoken of marriage."
"So it's never crossed your mind?"
"Look, I can do just fine without him if it had to come to that. All right, I don't want to tie him down for Alexis's sake or mine. I don’t have to be married to be a good mother. I doubt Teddy would even want to get married. Ok?"
Heidi looks at her Son's girlfriend with a corky smile, "If you say so."
"Can we just grab the stuff we came for and get out of here? " she looks at her, "Please."

The sound of cartoons from the television filled Faith's family room where she and C.D. still sat.
"I have to check on the turkey." Faith says as she stands. "I'll be right back."
"No problem, You need any help?"
"No, no I invited you over for dinner not to help me cook dinner. It'll be done any time." she adds and walks into the kitchen leaving her youngest on the couch across from C.D.
Brad had already come back in with the splinter in his finger; Faith had taken it out quite quickly.
"So, Kayla are you having a nice Thanksgiving?" C.D. asks not knowing really what else to say to her.
Kayla looks over to C.D. from the TV. She nods with a smile, "Yes."

Jinny had walked away from Mrs. Blumenthal to go pick up a bottle of water for herself. Reaching for the water Jinny grabs it then turns around from the shelf a lady about her age stood behind a cart looking over the sports drinks, and notices Jinny. She smiles before she asks, "When are you due?"
"Excuse me?" Jinny shakes her head and listens to the woman again.
"You know, when is your baby due?" the lady asks again.
"Oh.”
"Your first?"
"Yeah it is." she smiles trying to cut the small talk and get going.
"I know how it is. Been there already. My son is one."
Jinny smiles trying to act interested, "I see." She nods with a bit of a smile inching toward the beginning of the aisle.
"Of course, I'm sorry, I best let you get going I just can't help myself."
"Um, it’s okay, don't mention it." Jin answers and begins the rest of the way down the aisle and turns left heading back where she had left Heidi.

itting around the table in the kitchen that had been set very nicely for their Thanksgiving dinner Magda put a slice of turkey on Benjamin's plate along with some side details including, mashed potatoes, salad, dressing, etc. A short time later each of them had their food on their plates.
Magda glances at Gabriel then to Ben. "I'll start." she adds.
"I'm thankful for having a healthy son, my family close by, great friends, and a roof over our heads." she smiles and looks to Ben.
"Okay, let's see." he stops and thinks. "I'm thankful for my mom, and my dad being here now. And my friends."
Magda grins at her son, "That's great, baby. Good job."
"I'm thankful for being with my family this Thanksgiving. I've often thought what it would have been like if I was to have the holidays with my son, and Magda. Now I know. It's wonderful. I wouldn't return it for a million." Gabriel says.
Magda looks at him then nods, and glances at Ben whom had been sneaking bites here and there, but now had already began to dig into his food.

After hanging her jacket back on the coat rack near the door Jinny makes her way into the kitchen where Mrs. Blumenthal had went after they had gotten home, and the sound of the three guys talking amongst themselves filled the room. As she neared she heard Teddy ask his mother, 'Where's Jinny?' he then didn't wait for his mom to reply, but went to get up when Jinny arrived in the kitchen.
"Oh, there you are." he says letting his weight back down in the chair.
"Yeah, I was just, uh, hanging my coat."
"Oh okay, come sit down." Theodore smiles and pulled a vacant chair from the table beside him.
"So how was the shopping trip, ladies?" Mr. Blumenthal adds in as Jinny walks over and sits.
"It was nice." Heidi answers chopping up the carrots that she had just bought. Jinny nods in agreement, "I grabbed a water while I was there."
"I see." Mr. Blumenthal nods with a smile. "How's your Thanksgiving been so far, Hon?" he asks.
She shrugs, "It's been pretty good so far. We're heading to my family's house for dessert after this."
"I see. Say, it'd be really nice to meet your family sometime. How about Christmas, you know. So we can all meet and get to know one another."
Jinny looks at Mr. Blumenthal she couldn’t believe what he was thinking, “Meet my family?” she manages to ask.

Teresa, Angela's cousin, had arrived with her four-year-old daughter, and now the family was beginning to settle around the table for their Thanksgiving dinner. When the door opened from the kitchen leading into the dining room where the family was now sitting around a long table decorated neatly. Thanksgivings were still hard for Ang...Missing her mother and all never got any easier around the holidays, but she figured she'd make the best out of them. Not only for herself, but for Daniel…her family. Her father had remarried a couple years back to the Lenia whom now stood in the dining room holding the door open for her father to walk through holding a large golden turkey the aroma to die for.
"Watch your back, Dad." Daniel commented as Ronald leaned over to rest the turkey at the middle of the table under the chandelier.
"Looks delicious." Angela smiles looking at her father whom stands back up and looks at his wife. "Thanks hon." he replies looking at his daughter.

A short time later Angela and Lenia appear in the doorway each holding dishes filled with various foods. After a couple trips everything was on the table, and set to eat. Once the two women took their places around the table Angela between her father and Daniel the two strongest men in her life. On the opposite side of Ronald was Lenia then came Rachelle, Teresa's daughter, and Teresa.
The family then turned their focus to Ron, whom sat at the head of the table. "I'm Thankful that we're all together this year to spend this holiday, together." he begins. "We all know that this year hasn't been the best for any of us concerned. Though we made it through, that I am thankful for. In the upcoming year ahead I would like to see our family blossom, and grow." he glances at Daniel and Angela, clears his throat, and looks to his wife for her to take it from there.

Faith walked back into the family room and said, "Dinner is ready, would you mind helping me C.D. get Kayla in her chair and I will go get Dick Jr. from in front of the TV. He really likes playing Play Station." C.D. responded, "Sure I can do that." CD walked over to the other couch and said, "Kayla can you come with me so we can get ready for dinner?" Kayla looked up at CD towering over her and replied in almost a whisper, "Yea" CD reached for Kayla's hand and the young girl slowly put her hand into CD's and got off the couch to go to the table. Brad was walking into the family room with a Band-Aid on his finger where the splinter had once been. CD said, "Brad dinner is ready we were going into to the table now. Your mom went to get Dick Jr." Brad said, "Okay I was getting hungry anyways." C.D., Brad and Kayla walked into the dining room where everything had already been set out by Faith. CD said, "Your mom sure is on top of things. Everything looks good." Faith had just rounded the corner with Dick Jr. in tow and said, "Thanks I am glad that everything looks good. This time of year is always hard to get through. I try my best to make it like a normal holiday. Having you here this year is an added bonus." CD said, "Thanks. I am happy to be here. Where does Kayla sit?" Faith pointed over to the side to her right. CD took Kayla over and helped her put her napkin on her lap before looking up to Faith and asking, "Where do you want me to sit?" Faith said, you could sit on the side with Kayla if you want. Anywhere is fine." CD took the seat next to Kayla while Brad and Dick Jr. went to the other side of the table.

Faith took her seat and said, "Shall we all join hands for the family prayer. Dick Jr. would you like to lead it?" Dick Jr. replied, "I can do that Mom." Everyone joined hands as the youngster started with "Heavenly Father, We would like to thank you for all that we have to be thankful for. Your guidance has helped when we needed it. You have watched over us in our time of need. Thank you for the wonderful food that we are about to eat. Thank you for letting Dad's partner come today and join our family in this holiday. Please watch over the people who have no one to celebrate with. In Jesus name I pray Amen. Faith looked at her oldest doing a good job with the prayer and trying his hardest to fill his dad's shoes with the his brother and sister. She smiled and asked, "CD would you help Dick Jr. carve the turkey?" CD replied, "Are you sure you don't want to help him." Faith said, "It would be nice if you did. Unless you don't want to?" CD replied, "I can do that." CD gave Dick Jr the electric knife and took the plates that was by the turkey as she asked, "What would you like white or dark meat." Faith answered. "The kids like a mixture of both. CD and Dick Jr. put the turkey on the plates for everyone and passed them out returning to their seats as Faith helped Kayla cut her meat and fixed the rest of her plate. CD passed the mashed potatoes and gravy to Dick Jr. after putting some on her plate. The rest of the dishes were passed around as they all started enjoying the great meal Faith had prepared for the holiday. CD said, "Faith this is very good. Thanks for having me over. I really am enjoying this." Faith said, "I am glad you could come this time. And wasn't working." They all settled in making small talk and enjoying their meal and each other's company.

Heidi had just taken the golden turkey out of the oven and sit it on the stove top. She put the turkey on the serving platter on the counter top. Heidi turned to the group that had gathered in the kitchen. She watched them interact with one another and noticed that Theodore was very attentive to Jinny. He was going to make a good father. Heidi announced, "The turkey is done. Robert if you will take it to the table for me. Matthew you can grab the potatoes and take them. Theodore would you grab the dressing and take it out also." The men got up to do their assigned tasks. Jinny said, "What would you like me to take out for you Mrs. Blumenthal?" Heidi looked over to Jinny and said, "First call me Heidi and second you just take yourself and my granddaughter to the table." Theodore smiled on his way to the table thinking that his Mom was starting to accept the fact she was going to be a grandmother and making Jinny taking it easy. But she doesn't know Jinny. Taking it easy is not in her vocabulary. Although she had been doing good and resting a lot lately. Jinny said, "I can help take things to the table."

i still stand by my statement that this rocks!!! after a long day of shopping at the mall *lol im such a girl* im tired and love that someone added more to their fan fic!!! and this kicks!!!!

Heidi replied, "You are taking things to the table. That precious cargo you are caring." The men had returned to take get their next task. Heidi looked at the men and said Robert you can take the green bean casserole, Matthew you take the gravy and I will get the cranberry sauce. Theodore you help Jinny to the table." The men set out to do their appointed tasks once more. Heidi followed Robert into the dining room as Theodore went to help Jinny. Jinny looked at Teddy before saying, "I am not an invalid, I could have helped." Theodore smiled and said, "Be thankful she is starting to accept the fact we are giving her a granddaughter, and her first grandchild at that." Theodore put his arm around Jinny as they started for the dining room. Heidi had sent Matthew back for the rolls. Theodore held out Jinny's chair and pushed it in for her as Robert did the same for Heidi. Theodore took his seat next to Jinny as Matthew took his seat and Robert went over to the Turkey to start carving it. Matthew said, "So Theodore 3 more months and you and Jinny will have a little one to look after. Are you getting excited." Theodore replied, "I know I actually am ready for that day. I want to be able to hold Alexis." Jinny looked at Theodore and said, "And spoil her rotten." Robert smiled to himself while he continued carving the turkey. Heidi said, "You know my son pretty well I see." Matthew said, "She sure does. I mean after all they are having a baby together Mom." Heidi replied, "I can see that thank you very much." Theodore and Jinny both were trying not to laugh at the banter between mother and son but failing miserably. Robert had joined in the laughter.

Heidi looked at everyone and said, "I guess that was pretty funny." When the laughter had settled down Robert was ready to start serving up the turkey Robert said, "Jinny would you like white or dark meat?" Jinny replied, "White is fine." Robert began dishing up the turkey as he handed it to the person it was intended for. Everyone had his or her plates in front of them when Heidi said, "Jinny around her we say a prayer and tell what we are thankful for. Would you like to start?" Jinny looked at Theodore before saying, "Um do you want me to tell what I am thankful for. Or say a prayer?" Heidi said, "First we tell what we are thankful for then Robert will say a prayer." Jinny looked at the Blumenthal family and thought how different they were from hers. Christmas would really be interesting if they had these little traditions then. Getting her family to say a prayer and tell what they are thankful for was almost impossible. Who was she kidding it was impossible. Jinny after thinking a moment finally said, "I am thankful for the day I finally said yes to Theodore about a date, and of course I am thankful for Lexi and Theodore in my life." Theodore looked at Jinny and said, "I am thankful for Jinny coming into my life and for me being so persistent and not giving up on Jinny til she said yes. And Alexis of course." The Blumenthal’s exchanged looks amongst themselves when they saw how much the two cared for each other. She thought to herself that not only was Matthew engaged but also Theodore and Jinny would be married soon no matter how much Jinny denied it earlier. The others took their turns telling what they were thankful for and Robert said the prayer as they all began to enjoy the meal before them. The conversation amongst them was a mixture of what was going on in their lives.

Amanda and Jordan sat on the couch as they were instructed to by Kate.
"Are you sure I can't help you out, Mom?" Amanda calls to her mom.
Kate stood over the turkey that she had set on the counter beside the sink. "No no, you just stay in there. Dinner will be ready in a minute." turning her attention back onto the turkey sitting in the pan a little past 'golden'. Kate glances around the kitchen and grabs a dishrag and looks back at the darkened turkey. She couldn't believe what she was thinking about doing, but all she really wanted was to cook a nice dinner, 'A' as in one. If she could make it through this one without it turning out terrible she wouldn't ever ask to make anything correctly ever again. She would be happy with peanut butter and jelly just to let this dinner go smoothly is what she wanted. With that thought she took the small clean dishrag and brushed it across the top layer of the turkey that had become 'overly golden' in the oven. Kate refusing to say or even think that it was burnt.
Once the darker layer was off she glanced at it and gave a look. "It needs something." she said under her breath to herself.

"Maybe, since I have been gone Mom has become a better cook." she smiled to Jordan sitting beside her. "You know, miracles are bound to happen." Amanda adds.
"I'm sure everything will be delightful, Mandy." Jordan smiled down at her. About that moment Kate carried the turkey that she had pilled the skin from on the table. "Dinner if finished." she said proudly. "Come and get it." she adds walking back into the kitchen for the other details of the dinner as her daughter and Jordan got up and headed toward the dining room right off from the living room.
When the two arrived close enough to see the turkey. Jordan minded his manners, sat down at the table, and didn't say a word. Amanda didn't say anything but stood looking at the turkey when Kate walks back in with a bowl of potatoes in her hands seeing her daughters face, "What?" she asked. Knowing the answer to the question before she asked she sat the potatoes down and waited for an answer.
"What happened to..." Amanda looks from the turkey to her mother. "The skin...It's missing."
"I know. It's different isn't it?" Kate asked with a smile. Though it was a lame excuse it was the first one that came to mind.
"You burnt it didn't you?" her daughter asks.
"Yes, okay I did."
"Well, I think it looks great, Mrs. McCafferty."
Kate shakes her head and chuckles lightly, "Now we know you're just saying that. Please, don't spare my feelings. So I can't cook. I can do a lot of other things. Just pick off what you want of the turkey. We have some other side fixings. That I didn't cook." Kate grins.
"Right, Mom." Amanda smiles and takes a seat at the table. "Happy Thanksgiving."
Her mother smiles, "Happy Thanksgiving, Sweetie. I'm glad you're here. You too, Jordan."
"Happy Thanksgiving, Mrs. McCafferty."
"Call me Kate I get enough of McCafferty at the station."
"Okay, Kate."
With that Captain nods once with a smile and heads back into the kitchen.
"She likes you." Amanda grins.
"Oh yea?" Jordan asks. "That's good because I plan on being around for awhile."
After a couple minutes everything was set and the three sat, dished out their food, and chatted amongst themselves after a short 'Thanksgiving Prayer' that Kate had made.

After unlocking the apartment door quickly Jinny walks in leaving the door open, Theodore was a few paces behind. She tosses the keys down on the side desk and begins walking toward the hall when Theodore comes in and closes the door behind him.
“What’s gotten into you, Jinny?”
Her back to Teddy she scoffs, “After that little scene you have the nerve to ask me that?” Jinny dashes around facing him and raises her voice at him she scoffs. “I’ll tell you what’s a matter.”
“Okay!!”
“How can you pull a stunt like that at my dad’s house of all places!?”
“A stunt?!?” Theodore raises his voice. “I-I was just telling your brother-“ he gets interrupted.
“You were telling my brother how to talk to me. BELIEVE ME, Theodore, I can take care of MYSELF!!” Jinny yells and shakes her head, “I’ve been doing it all my life, and I don’t need anyone to step in for me now! If only you knew HALF of what I’ve been called not only by my brother, but by others as well. What he said really didn’t affect me! I don’t need any help from you, or anyone!”
“God, Jinny!! What do you expect me to do, huh!?” he asks. “Just stand there!? To ignore what he said to you!?”
“I could have taken care of it!” Jinny yells, “By myself!!”
Theodore shakes his head, “I don’t see how the hell you can expect me to be standing by and listen to him talk to you like that, and not say anything!!!”
“By just minding your own business!!!” she answers pushing her hair out of her face.
“We are dating am I right!?” Theodore begins, “By dating it is my damn business, Jinny!!! I can’t just stand by a listen to that crap. I love you!!”
“Well..” in a sudden out burst Jinny exclaims, “I love you too!!” then stops almost before she could finish the ‘too’ realizing what she had said.
Theodore stops and looks at her standing on the other side of the room neither said anything. Their fight had come to a sudden halt.
He swallows, “You’ve never said that before.” Theodore’s voice softens.
“Yeah well, I know.” She turns around ready to go into the hall back toward her room.
“You mean it?” he asks hesitantly.

Jinny takes a breath and looks down shaking her head once before looking up at the wall, “Of course I do.” She says in a low tone similar to if she was saying it in a whisper.
A slight smile comes over Theodore’s face as he takes a slow step toward her, as if testing the waters to see if they were cooled. Nothing came from Jinny so he went over to her and puts his arms around her waist her arms that were down at her sides gently pulled up and went around his arms.

It was a mid December morning, the door of the apartment building closing behind them; the morning fog still lay across San Francisco. The morning was wet and chilly, but the two women began down the steps for their morning walk before heading to the station for their shift. Magda and Jinny had given up morning games of racquetball until after the baby was born. In replace they took morning walks to stay exercised and in good shape.
Jin now was beginning to get a rather round belly that she held out in front of her as she walked straight up right. Her hair in a ponytail, blue sweat pants a white t-shirt and a zip up windbreaker was what she wore for her morning walks. Since she had been gaining the weight she was running a lot warmer than she had normally. Which was to be expected.
“So how are the changes going?” Magda glances at her partner with a grin. “Big change?”
“It's different...” Jinny shakes her head as the two begin down the street walking passed Magda’s car that was parked on the street in front of Jinny’s apartment building. Theodore had just moved in a few days before. So he still was settling into the small one bedroom apartment. Although, the couple was aware once Alexis was born they were going to need a larger place, but until then they were getting to know each other in a new way, living together.
“What’s this?”
“It’s just a big step...Living with him.” She takes a breath. “It was different when he’d drop by after work, you know?”

Mag glances at her and nods, “I know.” she reaches over and pats her hand on her partner’s back. “I know. So is the baby, Jinny.”
“Yeah.” Jinny grins, continuing to walk “We started Lamaze last Friday.”
“Ooh?” her partner smirks. “How was it? It’s getting that close to the big day, huh?”
“It was okay. I can’t picture going for the next couple of months though,but Theodore insisted we start early.” Jinny reply’s solemnly then laughs. “Yeah, goin’ on eight months, Mag.”
“Wow, getting’ closer, Jinny. You excited?”
“Petrified it more like it.”
“Jinny Exstead scared?” her partner took advantage of the situation and commented.
“Yeah, I don’t know, I feel like I shouldn’t be having these kinds of feelings...”
Her partner scoffs, “It’s okay to be scared, Jin. After all, this baby is going to be with you for the next eighteen years through thick and thin you have to support her.”
“And this is supposed to help?”
Both woman separate and walk around a puddle of water in the middle of the sidewalk. “Can I ask you a question?” Jinny asks as the two begin to close in on one another again continuing to walk.
“Sure, anything.”
“Were you scared, you know before you had Ben.”
“Oh god yes. I was all the way until I held him in the delivery room. Then I just looked down at him, and the fear slipped away. I knew whatever happened I’d always have my baby, my son.”
“You think it’ll be like that for me? Right now, I’m excited you know? Yet. It’s just a new worry for me. Something more to accomplish if my life isn’t hard enough as is.”
“I know, but... believe me once she’s born it’ll be different. It’ll be like she had always been in your life. At least it was for me.”
With that Jinny glances at her partner as they walk down the road and flashes a quick smile before looking directly ahead, walking along.

Coincidently
Now 7:33 in the morning Kate stepped out of her office. She had just gotten in at 7:00 herself, but her Inspector’s shift started at 7:30.
“C.D. Angela, how’s the case comin’ along?” she asks walking over.
“Fine, Cap. It looks as if the girlfriend is going to come clean.”
“So everything’s under control?”
“Yeah, we’ve got it covered. Also a meeting is scheduled with her today to make a formal statement.”
“Great. Just give the word, I’d like to look in on it.”
“No problem, Cap.” C.D. answered.
Walking through the door Jinny grinned at what Magda had said before coming in then saw Captain out of her office.
“Do you know what time it is?” Kate asked turning around.
“Good morning to you too, Cap’n.” Jinny reply’s easing down into her seat.
Magda glances above Captain’s office door to the clock on the wall.
“Where have you two been? Your shift starts at 7:30. Not when you feel like it.”
Mag looks at her Captain, “We were down at the coroners office.”
“Oh, then never mind.” Kate answered and walked toward her office.
It had been a little over a month since the two inspectors, Exstead and Ramirez had found the first body of a woman. Since then there had been two more that had turned up. Each left in the same condition as the last. Each time the killer left no evidence, fiber, nothing.
“Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning... again.” Jinny comments under her breath in Magda’s direction.

Before Jinny could answer her phone began to ring. Reaching for it she sat back and rested on her chair, “SFPD. This is Inspector Exstead.” Leaning to the side of her desk she grabs a pad of paper and a pen. “San Francisco General?” she asks to the person on the phone. “Okay, we’ll be right down. Stay with her.” With that Jinny hangs the phone back on its cradle and looks at Magda.
“Looks as if our man didn’t finish the job.”
“Why? Who was that?”
“A woman was strangled found near a trashcan, handcuffed…Imagine that… and ,get this, brought into the hospital… alive.”
“Okay, let’s roll..” Magda gets up promptly.
Jinny nods, “Ok.” And begins to get up from her chair that she had just sat down in less than five minutes ago. Once she was standing she takes a breath and ran her hand over her head.
“You alright, Jin?” C.D. notices her.
“I’m fine.” Jinny shrugs it off and puts her coat on and wraps it around her looking toward Cap’s office where Magda was talking. When Cap nods Magda does the same and heads out of the office.

C.D. was writing in the case folder the new information they had gotten yesterday to bring everything up to date. She looked up to Angela and said, "What time did Lorean Matthews say she would be in today to give her formal statement? Angela looked through her notes and replied, "She said she would be in around 8:30 which is not that far off she should be arriving anytime soon." CD said, "Thanks I am just about done with updating the case folder."

Angela said, "This case should be wrapped up by this afternoon then." CD replied, "It would be nice if it would be." Just then the doors to the felony division open and in walks Lorean Matthews. Angela sees her come in and tells CD "Lorean is here now." CD looks up from the case folder and says, "Want to go inform the Captain that she is here and I will take her to Room #3?" Angela replied, "Sure, I will wait for the Captain and meet you there." CD gets up from her desk and grabs the file folder she had been writing in just before Lorean came in as she walks over to Lorean. Ang rose from her desk and headed for the Captain's office. CD said, "Right on time Lorean we can go this way for the formal statement. My partner will join us in a few moments." Lorean replied, "O" CD led Lorean to the interrogation room. Angela knocked on the Captain door before entering and saying, "Lorean Matthews is here to give the formal statement. We are in Room #3. You said you wanted to sit in on it this morning."

The elevator door opens into a long corridor the two inspectors see a nurse in the short distance and begin walking over to her. As they approach they see she's about to walk into the room numbered 253, coincidently was the room the receptionist downstairs had given them to locate, Sheryl, the victim whom was brought in this morning.
"Wait up." Jinny raises her voice slightly as she and her partner picked up their walking pace.
"Sorry no visitors are-"
"Inspector Ramirez this is Inspector Exstead." Magda replies as they walk up to the door flashing her badge. Jinny does the same then tucks it back into her coat pocket. The nurse nods and allows the two to follow her inside.

Closing back the door behind her Jinny is the last to see the woman. She was badly beaten and had a thin wire mark around her neck from where the man had strangled her. Sheryl was the first and only victim from this man or woman that was left alive.
"Hello, Mrs. Broderick." Magda says in a low voice walking over to the bedside of the woman. The nurse on the opposite side was checking her IV's fluid, etc.
"Hi." the lady managed to get out.
"I'm Inspector Ramirez. This is Inspector Exstead,” she adds introducing herself and Jinny.
"I know this is a very hard time right now, but to catch this guy we really need your help. You're not the only one he's done this to." Jinny says to the lady in a tone that showed her sympathy, but also didn't have the women drowning in it.
Sheryl swallows hard, and looked at the Inspectors.
"Just you know, a description. As much as you can remember." Magda adds.
"We want to nail this guy... before he wipes out San Francisco's entire female population." Jinny reply's she then walks over to the chair that sat facing the bed and sits down.
Sheryl nods and thinks back to late last night when this all happened to her. "He was tall." she begins in a low tone.
Jinny nods, "Take your time."

Jinny and Magda walked thru the division doors as Magda says, "We should update the Captain on what Sheryl Broderick had to say." Jinny replies, "I still say that is one sick guy that we are dealing with that is wanting attention, or he has a problem with women all together." CD looks up from her desk and said, "How is she?" Magda replied, "She is in pretty bad shape but she was able to give of a description. We have a sketch artist there now getting it down." Jinny replied, "As soon as he gets done with it we can get the picture on the streets to nail this guy before he kills anyone else."

For now that is. And it is snowing here. What else is new. It is a whopping 16 whole degrees and they cancelled school for everywhere around here but us. Cause we were supposed to have 8 to 12 inchse by the time school got out. Which didn't happen. But could happen yet I guess, just don't want it to.

Yeah, hopefully that doesn't happen. It wouldn't be a nice safe drive to the hospital for you and Michelle that's for sure. Anyway, I will post more of the fan-fiction, Caitlin, when I get on my computer. My brother and Sean is on it right now chatting or something, who knows. They just best not be downloading crap on it. lol... I promise when I get on my computer I will get on and post more of this fanfic..Wish I had it on this computer... Also thinking about updating maybe the 'Jinny & Teddy' section on our Division Site, Jeanie....hmm... Anyway when I get on the other computer I will get on and talk to you Jeanie, before your surprise visit to the hospital. lol... Okay? :)

Angela said, "The sooner the better." Jinny and Magda walk over to the Captain's office and knock on the door before entering. Captain says, "Did you get to talk to her?" Jinny replied, "She was in bad shape but she was able to tell us what this guy looked like." Kate replied, "Good, the sooner we nab this guy the better." Magda said, "We have a sketch artist with her now getting it down on paper." Kate replied, "When he gets back we can get it copied and to all the other stations so anyone seeing him can call us with the information. The guy made his first mistake and we are going to get him." Jinny said, "As soon as Roberts gets back we have instructed him to get a copy to all the other departments. We also had a guard put at her door in case the guy comes back to finish the job." Kate looks at Jinny and Magda and replies, "Good work. Let me know when you get any other information." Jinny and Magda walk back to their desks as Jinny takes off her coat and heads to the coffee machine to get a cup of coffee. Magda was writing in their case folder about information that Sheryl had given them. Jinny returned to her desk to go over the messages she had lying there. Jinny reached over to pick up the phone just as Theodore walks up her desk. Jinny looks up and says, "Hey" Theodore replies, "Hey, so how are my girls?" Jinny replies, "We're fine, I am a little tired but fine overall. We weren't supposed to have lunch were we?" Theodore looks down at her, "No I just came by to see how you are feeling and let you know that I can't make Lamaze today. I was supposed to go to court this morning so my afternoon was free but the judge called this morning and said that he would have to do it this afternoon, something about a case running longer than expected. I just wanted to let you know. I am sorry."
"Don't worry so much Teddy I can just go by myself today. We will be fine. After all it is not your fault that court has been pushed to this afternoon. Just make sure that it doesn't happen when Lexi decides to make her appearance." Theodore replied, "Allen already knows when you call about going into labor I am out of there. I wouldn't miss that for the world Jin." Jinny laughs softly, "I was just teasing Teddy. I know you wouldn't miss it." Theodore smiles and says, "Since I am here and don't have court do you want to go to take an early lunch?" Jinny looked towards Magda who had overheard some of the conversation. Magda said, "I can handle anything that comes up. Go have lunch." Jinny said, "You sure?" Magda said, "Yeah I can always call if I need you." Jinny said, "Thanks." She turned towards Theodore who was already standing waiting to help Jinny on with her coat. Theodore puts his hand out to help Jinny stand up. As Jinny is in a standing position Theodore put his hand on her know noticeable stomach and said, "Hey Lexi, You hungry?" Jinny smiled at what Teddy did. Magda had witnessed the whole exchange between Jinny and Theodore and smiled as she turned to notice CD and Angela were also watching the exchange between the two. Theodore reaches for Jinny’s jacket and helps her put it on. Jinny turns to Magda and said, "See you in an hour." Theodore and Jinny exit the division hand in hand.
