The wife and I just got back from dropping our daughter off at college. There was lots of crying, and I won't say by who.

And on topic of Fiddler On The Roof, I've never watched it. But I do know Topol, the lead actor from the 1980 Flash Gordon movie.

It was real hard for me to see my siblings off to college. Course, they're both graduated, but it was one of the hardest things I had to face. I understand completely.

I came across some interesting Fiddler on the Roof trivia today. When it premiered on Broadway in 1964, Bert Convy and Bea Arthur were in the cast

I want to thank EVERYBODY here who gave my mother their best wishes. I really appreciate all the kind words and so does she...

The good news so far is that her preliminary tests came out well except for a bladder infection that she is now being treated for. Her color has vastly improved as well as her appetite and she is no longer feeling as weak. Thank you, Lord!

She will be getting further tests later but for right now, so far so good.

Hi Torgo, it's hard seeing your baby leaving, but you'll see her again before you know it!

Yeah The Papa, he was really cool!;)
The Papa, The Papa! TRADITION!:D That's what you should have sang to your Daughter as you saw her off!

That is one advantage of her going to school in state. I was fine until the very last second when me and my wife had to head back for home, I thought I was going to make it haha

Nah, I embarrassed her enough as is.

Hi Sven!

Yes, I know. Somebody had to say it, its been radio silent. We used to always be the thread at the top of the new posts page.

Here is my ODAAT related thought for the day. Alice Ghostley/Miss Loring could be funny just reading the phone book. Some people are born scene stealers and she was one of them. I also loved her on Designing Women.

I love how she attacked her poor plant as a way of combating her nerves today...too funny...

I do like Miss Loring as well! You'll all be happy to know that my Anatomy class is going better for me. Now we are learning about muscles.

That's cool! I too hated those bloody pep assemblies when I was in high school, being squashed in those makeshift bleachers with a bunch of goofusses...or is that goofi? Not that I didn't like my school, but I couldn't have cared less if they won their basketball game, or footballs game, or whatever the heck it was. Quite frankly, I had better things to do, like tape pictures from Tiger Beat into my Glen Scarpelli scrapbook!

That was okay, as long as it was something like "wear blue" day. I simply refused to participate in "wear your sleepwear" day. One does not wear sleepwear in public. And everyone was mad at me because our Spanish teacher told us he wouldn't give homework if everyone in class dressed up for each spirit day...but luckily on that day when he looked around the room, he a) missed that I wasn't wearing sleepwear, b) thought I normally slept in a designer sweater and jeans, or c) respected the fact that I found the whole affair morally repugnant.:p

I know 15 dollars isn't THAT much! But for me it's exciting, esp. from dollar scratchers ! :)

I'm going to save it and cash in when the movie "Girl on the train "comes out next week! I REALLY want to see that movie,so I can pay for it with my winnings because we are kind of short cash wise lately!:( Bills and that stupid new modem/scrotum !:p ( according to the phone guy today,he found absolutely nothing wrong with the phone wire outside or inside,he says he guesses the new modem just took some time to kick in and work) or something like that, I still think it's Poltergeists! :D So a movie wasn't really in the Oct.budget and now I can see it without feeling guilt about spending money! ;) :)

Girl on the train looks like it will be REALLY good! ;)

Commuter Rachel Watson (Emily Blunt) catches daily glimpses of a seemingly perfect couple, Scott and Megan, from the window of her train. One day, Watson witnesses something shocking unfold in the backyard of the strangers' home. Rachel tells the authorities what she thinks she saw after learning that Megan is now missing and feared dead. Unable to trust her own memory, the troubled woman begins her own investigation, while police suspect that Rachel may have crossed a dangerous line.

Back in the day, VH was hot too! I much preferred the plucky, perky Rhoda over the likable but staid Mary Ricahrds.

Never seen any of either Valerie's shows. Just have heard the names.
