The Bounty Hunter (2010) ... sooo not good :| ... I know when I slump down into my seat, frequently checking my watch, and constantly thinking, "hurry up and finish already, I have things to do", I've pretty much mentally switched off from what's up on screen... not that my mind ever felt the need to switch on during this movie :| lol... Sitting through it all was sooo boring for me, because the movie felt (at least) ten times longer than it actually is... I can't be bothered attaching an image of the movie's theatrical poster, because I don't like that either lol... Gerard Butler throws a punch or two, but not enough for me to (struggle to) watch the movie again lol...

House aka Hausu '77 Fantastic Japanese horror comedy, got to see it on the big screen over the weekend- Thank you Cinema 21!

The wife and I took our daughter to see How To Train Your Dragon, probably wouldn't have watched it otherwise, but I ended up enjoying it.

I definitely want to see that... I see ads promoting it on tv here, and I saw the movie's trailer before Alice in Wonderland, which I like a lot... Plus, it's in 3D, and Gerard Butler does the voice of a character, so I'm at least guaranteed to like those elements of it lol... Although, reviews for it are generally excellent... :)

For a long time considered a lost exploitationer...sadly it didn't live up to what I had read about it...I agree though it is one of the sleaziest 60's films ever made. But take out the sleaze and the film is just boring.

Betsy Russell is very cute (so perfectly cast as a tomboy), and I still find this movie fun to watch, especially the scenes involving music... Then I started watching movies in order from the set, and watched Cavegirl (1985) and Coach (1978)... I'm not too fond of either... Anyway, typed this on my iPhone, and definitely won't be doing that again (slow + crappy typing) lol...

I like Cavegirl...good corny fun.

Coach would have been better had it actually had more of them actually playing basketball, if I'm going to watch a sports movie I want more sports.

I think it was one of the worst ever made and a real waste of talent for leads Liam Neeson and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The house is great visual eye-candy but this movie just lacks the overall creepy atmosphere of the original. The backstory of the villain is also really bad and doesn't make sense.

I also think at the time, when they now had CGI, they believed that they should use it to their full capacity and the effects are really bad and over-used.


It is not as good as the original but the better modern version is the 1999 version of House on Haunted Hill.

I don't know about everyone else, but I've come across a number of movies in this thread that I don't even remember hearing about when they came out, but after checking out some descriptions of them, they look pretty interesting. I hope everyone here can discover some good movies that they didn't know about before.

Here's one that a lot of folks might not have heard about...

This was made in 1964 (or at least, that's when it was released), and was supposedly the inspiration for the "I Dream of Jeanie" TV Series.

It stars Tony Randall, Barbara Eden and Burl Ives.

Randall plays a young Architect living in Pasadena CA. Eden plays his fiance and Ives plays the Genie.

Randall releases Ives from a brass bottle which has imprisoned Ives for 3,000 years. Ives vows to use his magical powers to serve Randall, but only succeeds in creating more and more problems.

There's a moral to this story as well.

The cast is VERY strong, people will recognize a lot of the cast from the great movies Universal was cranking out at the time. Edward Andrews, for example, plays Eden's father (Randall's prospective father in law).

The movie was based on a 1900 (!) novel credited to "F. Anstey" . I've downloaded it and am looking forward to reading it soon. To me, it'll be interesting to see how the genie was going to make life easier in 1900.

But The Brass Bottle is great family entertainment. I don't know how long it's been since I've seen it shown on TV... I taped it off TBS sometime around 1984 or '85, and recently transferred it to DVD (without commercials yaaay).

I remember seeing it in a matinee as a child, but I don't think that would have been 1964. I think it's possible it might have been re-released when Eden got her own TV show. I'm thinking I must have seen it around '67 or so.
