Just a heads up, the Reelz channel has this show called Autopsy, which tries to examine the exact cause of celebrities' deaths. The next episode, this coming Sunday (July 18) will be about John Ritter.

They also recently did an episode on Alan Thicke, who also died after suffering from an aortic dissection. On that particular episode (not that it necessarily pertains to John Ritter's own lifestyle outside of dying in a similar fashion), Alan Thicke's eating habits was discussed. He was known to binge eat on foods that were rich in sodium. He would then intentionally skip breakfast to overcompensate for eating too much the night before. Alan was also known to smoke, like whenever he was on break from playing hockey. I don't know if he was a casual smoker or a chain smoker. But what was also quite known from those who knew Alan Thicke was that when he would play hockey, he didn't like to warm up to gradually build up his rate rate.

I saw that!

They said even in his 60s Thicke would put an ENTIRE stick of butter into his hash browns or whatever for breakfast. That is SUICIDE!

Unfortunately, I don't think John's diet was any better.

It just struck me that yesterday (September 17) would've been John Ritter's 74th birthday. And 8 Simple Rules... premiered on ABC 20 years ago last week.

On September 11, 2003, John Ritter - the popular sitcom superstar from Three's Company - suddenly fell ill on the set of his new show and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died from a rare heart condition. As the world mourned the passing of a comedic legend, his family and friends were left to wonder -- was it preventable?

Hosts: Jason Beckerman & Derek Kaufman

In my eyes John Ritter should've gone to another doctor or hospital because if he would've done that he would still be alive today. If you recall the same thing happened to Lucille Ball when she died in 1989 from a ruptured aorta and back then you didn't see many people with these illnesses that died from them. I also think what John Ritter could've done is quit 8 Simple Rules at the time he discovered his illness and they could've easily recast John's character to be played by another actor rather than cancel 8 Simple Rules. I think in celebrity deaths John Ritter's death is the most popular because they want to learn more info on what really happened with John Ritter because the Ritter family wants to see the mystery finally solved

If John listened to his doctors & took care of his health he could be alive too!
I wonder if John may have been born with a bicuspid aortic valve that went undiagnosed. Aortic aneurysms are known as widow makers because a lot of people don't know they have them. Once the aorta ruptures, your chances of surviving are low unless you make it to the hospital immediately, and even then, the odds aren't great.

Somebody in r/threescompany said that they recalled seeing John Ritter at an awards show on TV not too long before his death. And something about him was just off. Like, John seemed way too enthusiastic and yet a little bit paranoid. I wonder if the commenter is referring to the 2003 TV Land Awards, for which John hosted.
