I think HAWAII FIVE-O will stick around on MeTV for a while. It is coming off a successful nearly 4-year Day Shift run on sister network H&I, and has been on MeTV Plus since it launched, including prime time where it currently airs. It’s had a very successful long life in syndication through the 80s and 90s, had a big remastered relaunch on cable’s The Family Channel in 1997, and has sold well on DVD. I could see them moving it to late night at some point, but I expect it will stick around at 11am EST for a year or two, given that it replaced an older skewing crime drama as well. It aired around 2017 in a problematic time slot previously, lasting about 10 months.

I just wish they would acquire the remaining 74 remastered episodes. They did something similar with Mannix and Cannon, who had missing episodes in their syndication packages that were added back in when MeTV picked the shows up.

METV average viewer age is around 70, the network wants the average age to be closer to 60. When Nick at Nite began in 1985 the midway point of the baby boomer generation born in 1955 was 30. By 2000 that individual was 45, the network wanted that number closer 30 than 50. Same thing here, in 2015 that individual was now 60 that was the METV audience, in 2025 that individual was 70, they want that average age closer to 60.

One of the problems Catchy has is the fact that cable systems are reluctant to add any more stations to the basic cable line-up. This is their least profitable tier, the customer that continues on that tier is more interested in good reception of over the air stations at a reasonable price point than a large channel selection. In the early days of diginets they were regularly added, now that's no longer the case.
Somehow, MeTV got Comcast to add MeTV Toons; they need to do the same for Catchy.

Yes, that was then, this is now. Like Dream Canteen said, the Cosby Show is now damaged goods.

I'd like to run that Seinfeld idea up the flagpole again. I know someone had a MeTV quote that it would never happen. It's probably an old quote.

I know I made a comment about local syndication, and, yes, that could be a problem. It definitely would be here, but contracts expire sooner or later.

Does MeTv toons have a National feed?

I wish they had one for Catchy (especially when they had the Dick Cavett Show and showed him interviewing Art Carney and one where he interviewed Jackie Gleason ) because that would mean I wouldn’t have to spend money on watching Catchy on the Friendly TV service to watch and record those shows and watch and record the other rare shows.

Yeah I think so too. Five-O is a great show and deserves to be airing on MeTV main for a long time. At least as long as In The Heat of the Night did. I think the reason why the syndication package is missing the 74 episodes is because Paramount doesn't offer it to networks. I'm sure MeTV would like to air all episodes if they were available.

I work at home and run Catchy in the background. Not a fan of Toons but it has it's fans, The only thing I watch on MeTV is Raymond and Svengoolie (and I think he is going to retire).

I've said it before, when Svengoolie retires MeTv TV is going to have a problem. They are making money on Him and they don't want to be the next Antenna TV (as I call it Commercial TV).

If I was MeTV, I'd run Early Edition in the Morning.

And 2 Hours of MASH is Too Much Mash.

They are deteriorating as a network.

Evening Edition? Come on, that`ll never happen

The wife & I burned out on MASH, we never watch it now

ME-TV should dump the CAROL BURNETT clip show & put on the full hours
The entire run is available, just show one hour per day M-F
Same with LAUGH-IN, one hour M-F

I`d rather see CHEERS than SEINFELD, FRIENDS is out & I think SEINFELD
falls into the same type of adult comedy, as would TWO AND A HALF MEN,
doubt ME-TV would schedule those unless there is a
shake-up in current management

A couple of points, H&I has a fraction of the audience METV has so I wouldn't read to much into the programming strategies of that network as it relates to METV. That said I could see it replacing Hitchcock or maybe one of the detective series overnight.

The only place Early Edition would fit would be as a late night add on Saturday nights as part of their specialty programming, but the network wouldn't run it there unless they could get it at a dirt cheap price. The show hasn't had much success in syndication.

I think METV will pull Carol Burnett, it looked like the network was going to do just that last summer, but Twilight Zone didn't perform well enough in the 11pm timeslot. The full hour version of the Burnett show wouldn't work, the variety show era is over. Laugh-In has been tried in the half hour format, the audience thins quickly, it's too topical.

Cheers would be the perfect show for METV except it hasn't performed well or at least not well enough in syndication. I'm not sure what the problem with the series is, I have a few theories but that's a different discussion.

Mission: Impossible might go away for The Alfred Hitchcock Hour.

The references I've seen are related to King of Queens and Friends, I'd like to see the Seinfeld reference. If for example it were programmed in the 8pm timeslot it might not be competing against itself.
