I'm surprised that ELR is doing well in the ratings and The Golden Girls is finally replacing Hogan's Heroes. Hogan needed to go a long time ago. Perhaps some of these sitcoms' contracts are finally expiring on MeTV.
I wonder how many shows are being replaced. We have waited years to finally see the primetime weeknight lineup to change and within 5 months we have gotten so much. I think the Westerns and MASH are staying since they bring in good ratings. Maybe Andy Griffith is next to go. |

You're the second poster to say that's possible. Although I don't watch those reruns, I'm not convinced that show has run out of gas. It may still pull in the demo they're craving; if it didn't, it would already be gone. We'll see what happens.

i have been watching this network for over a decade and i will tell you one thing. i genuinely do not believe that they will ever abandon airing anything pre-70s. anybody thinking they will is genuinely delusional.

But what else have they done? --Tinkered quite a bit with Sundays, which is nothing new for them. --Removed a newer hour long show in weekday mornings, and replaced it with an older show. --No other changes in mornings, no changes in the afternoon. My conclusion: at least right now, they're not remaking the network. |

I mentioned this before and I will reiterate it, Raymond is a statement show. The network is moving on, continuing their approach of programming popular shows with lots of episodes that have done well in syndication, but will be attractive to a younger audience. Younger in this context means someone roughly around 60 as opposed to 70. This will take time, it's not easy to find shows that meet the criteria, and I'll give two examples. Cheers would fit beautifully into the 8-9pm slot or 11-midnight, problem, it has not performed well in syndication, or at least not well enough. Newhart is another example of this, a big hit show in the 80's, now, not much interest in revisiting the series. The weeknight evening hours are the priority right now and I don't think that should come as too much of a surprise.
With respect to what I think will happen next, first I think Hawaii Five-0 is just a placeholder, same as Gomer at the end of last summer, I wonder if they may have acquired the rights to Murder She Wrote for some point in the near future, it's a perfect fit for both the 11 am slot and 11pm after Golden Girls leading into Mason at midnight. With respect to TAGS I think it's safe for 2026 what happens after that, my guess, it's dropped altogether or more likely moved to 8am-9am. The bottom line, the changes and the direction will become increasingly evident in the coming months, for those who don't see it now, you will. |

Replace Svengoolie, their most successful show? Funniest thing I`ve read so far with these predictions
They aren`t going to replace Sci-fi Saturday nights, may change the shows following Goolie but it is too popular for now |

With respect to moving on, we'll see.
Re Hawaii Five-O being a placeholder, keep in mind the morning demos definitely skew older. Retirees are home, watching TV. Thus, Perry Mason probably does quite well, since it's been there for years. |

I normally just watch TGG on Disney+ (with Hulu) but so glad to see it added to the lineup and better yet, so glad to see Hogan’s Heroes finally knocked off. Hopefully MASH will be next.
The only way I can watch MeTV is on the Frndly app. |

I don't think METV wants to replace Rich Koz (Svengoolie) but he is about to turn 74 (March 12), he's suffered two heart attacks, so how much longer will he want to do the show, that's the question. Rich is a talent, he understands exactly what his audience wants, he has a one of kind relationship with his large fan base, I don't see that potential in the new cast of characters.

I don't think Hawaii Five-0 is a late morning show. It's a good show don't get me wrong, but it's a little too overbearing for that time of day. I'd be surprised if it were still in that spot six months from now.

I wish they would pick up "Early Edition" and run it in the mornings. They need to find something to replace Carol Burnett. Seinfeld is too expensive and Fox owns the rights. And once Svengoolie retires, that is going to be hard shoes to fill. The 3 they have aren't cutting it. MeTV relies on Svengoolie to keep relevant. |

I know Sabin was quoted as saying Friends would not be coming to METV, I haven't read any comments related to Seinfeld. Let's be clear, it's not that he doesn't want these shows, it's a case of them not being available. Big difference. METV is about shows that were very popular, have done well in syndication, and have produced around 150 or more episodes. Murder She Wrote might be a possibility, it would fit beautifully behind The Golden Girls with Mason moving to midnight. It might also be used for two showings (like Mason) with the other running at 11am.
