I don’t know it looks like that right now. I think the Schedule needed a CHANGE. I don’t think atleast right now they will fully deticate to just 70’s & 80’s & 90’s.

Svengoolie the number 1 show on Me TV is still airing films from 1930’s. The Wizard Of Oz is Coming in October 2026 to Me TV. The Andy Griffith Show still gives Me TV that audience & Leave It To Beaver & The Three Stooges.

Now what Me TV did was they spung everything off to its Sister Channels. Like the Shows from the 50’s & 60’s that Viewers say bring to Me TV are on Catchy Comedy. Therefore with the Sister Channels what does that give Me TV to air?

Like I said if they go ahead and add atleast “Bewitched” to their WeekNight Schedule they would have a nice assortment in Primetime

7pm MASH
8pm Andy Griffith
9pm Everybody Loves Raymond Seinfeld would of worked
10pm The Golden Girls
11pm Carol Burnett
12AM Bewitched

While Saturdays can still be Svengoolie Movie.

With the Sven & Squad Hosting black & white Family Sitcoms all Nite Saturdays kinda like how NICK at NITE made fun of them yet Respected them perhaps that’s what they can do with Saturday Nights after Svengoolie.

Sundays can be that Binge.

This way your getting a little of everything yet not fully dumping the 50’s & 60’s format either.

We're on the TV Land expressway now, the shows from the 60's and 50's are finished as far as METV is concerned. Seinfeld is a possibility for 11pm-midnight replacing Carol Burnett. The show that really sticks out like a sore thumb is TAGS, I can see them looking to replace that in the next year. The METV strategy is pretty straight forward, the network is looking to get the age of their average viewer down so anything prior to 1970 wouldn't interest the network. The job is to find shows from let's say about 1980 and beyond that have been successful in syndication. Anyone who remembers the oldie stations that were once all over the radio dial, or remembers the original Nick at Nite or TV Land knows exactly what this is.
I can see Seinfeld, but I know at least here they would run into problems with other local station contracts.

I don’t know how much longer Antenna has on their contract for Bewitched or how hard it would be to get it away from Antenna and keep them from renewing it once it expires.

Now that Me-TV has the rights to the Golden Girls they need to get the spin-off series empty nest and Golden Palace. Golden Palace would be a great rotation with the Golden Girls they could play it all seven seasons of The Golden Girls then switch to Golden Palace then back to the Golden Girls that would be awesome if they would do that.

Just a theory, but it's possible all the Screen Gems [Sony] shows were up for renewal at the start of the year. They let two expire, and renewed Partridges, Jeannie, and Bewitched. Again, just a possibility.

You're missing the point, METV would have no interest in Empty Nest or Golden Palace, neither of those series have proven to be successful in syndication. METV selects shows that have proven track records in syndication.

METV would have zero interest in Bewitched. The network is moving on, they're not going to go out an acquire a 1960's sitcom, that's not what the network is about. Raymond was a statement show, a 30 year old in 1996 is 60,
and from this point on that will be the audience the network will look to appeal to.

I don't think the network is looking to get a little of everything. The network is looking to appeal to someone who was born no earlier than let's say 1964. That's their target, they're looking to program shows that would interest that age group. As I said, many of us have been through this type of thing before, once it starts it takes almost everything in its path. Sven may survive for now, but Rich turns 74 in a few weeks and he may be looking to cut back. I don't think there are any answers with that new group of characters that have been developed, so what happens when he leaves, I have no clue.

I guess someone has to start up a new network for that demo between early bird dinner and death.

Variety is the spice of life. Folks can enjoy Seinfeld and The Golden Girls and also enjoys Andy Griffith and Bewitched as well.

Reguarding Bewitched why can’t antenna tv & me tv both have it? Look at Sanford & Son it appears on both antenna tv & Sister network Me TV Catchy Comedy almost at identical times daily.

Like I said before if it’s trying to get away from the early years why are they brinning in The Wizard Of Oz? (1939).

I've said before that I think Bewitched would be viable. It's a long running series, which is in color (the first two seasons are colorized, the rest filmed in color). It doesn't carry an old TV vibe. Do I think it would make it to air [on MeTV]? Different question. Probably not. It might not even occur to MeTV to consider it.

Re the both networks question: I guess it would depends on how the contracts are written. It's certainly been done before, with restrictions on time-of-day. An example of that would be Everybody Loves Raymond, which was on TBS and TV Land at different times of day.

I`m out for TGG

I wouldn`t doubt CHEERS shows up

ME-TV is turning into the former NICK AT NIGHT

They won`t be getting rid of Sci-Fi Saturday Nights, forget that

I believe someone at ME-TV said no way would SEINFELD be brought on board,
I wish I`d copied where I read that

I think you're reading way too much into the METV acquisition of The Wizard of OZ broadcast rights. The movie still received broadcast airings into the 1990's so many that grew up in the 80's and 90's have a relationship with the film. And again, keep in mind it's a once a year special, not 5 nights a week programming.

It's possible METV might continue to air TAGS but definitely not prime time. The network might look to replace Beaver so I guess that's a possibility. Something like Bewitched is a nonstarter, the network doesn't air the series now, METV will be looking to use acquisition resources in a way that benefits the network's new direction.

So is Bewitched no longer in black and white? Does Fe TV show Bewitched in black and white just curious.

Got you I think I understand now with Me TV. Here is my thoughts.

It would be great if Saturday Night Live will come to Saturday Nights Replacing Svengoolie time slot. My favorite Season was with Dana Carvey & Chris Farley & Mike Myers & Chris Rock & Tim Meadows & Phil Hartman & David Spade & Adam Sandler & Rob Schneider & Kevin Nealon & Melanie Hustle & Elan Klenghorn & Victoria Jackson & Julia Sweeney as Pat! Sci Fi can start later.

Reguarding The Andy Griffith Show being Replaced would love to see the middle.

Pee-Wee’s Playhouse would make sense to air it in Leave It To Beaver time slots.

Full House Should Return and Replace The Brady Bunch

Modern Family would be an excellent show to Replace Carol Burnett Soon.

David Letterman would be great to see Replace Perry Mason at Night.

Two And Half Men Replacing The Three Stooges right out of the old West!

Real World LA Season 2 was my favorite Season. Dominic was Hilarious! Maybe this would be a great Replacement for All In The Family.

Thanks again for letting Me know what Me TV is doing. I will email them these suggestions and hopefully we can get this going soon! Thanks again! Enjoy your Weekend!!
