I also thought the ending to this show was very stupid. All of those years he could not stand Nikki and then all of a sudden when she decided to move on and get married to someone else he is in love with her.

I think the professor always loved Nikki, but he was too stubborn & embarrassed to admit it, until he realised someone else wanted her. That's when he had to let his pride go to the side & go after her. |

Stanley never loved Nikki LOL. He decided to change his mind about marrying her because the writers of the show wanted the show to end that way.

Exactly and the way the writers had the Professor change his mind was soooooo unbelievable. So if Nikki never decided to get married, she would still be chasing him and he would still be running from her talking about "leave me alone Ms. Parker"

Stanley deserved a lot of credit, it's not every man who would marry a woman big enough to have her own fire escape-lol

I seriously doubt there's a fire escape big enough for Monique to walk on LOL. Nobody could make a fire escape for her size LOL.

You are soooo crazy!!!! I have to agree with you minus the fat jokes. That finale seemed rushed and only on T.V would somebody get married in a restaraunt. All of the sudden, he wants to marry her what in god's name?!!! If I was Nikki I would never dump the man who loves me for me for my crush who dogged me for five years not to mention called the mental hospital on my ass. I swear this episode was trying to put A Different World spin on it.

The show was supposed to end with Nikki and the professor together, she truly did love him, and I think secretley he did like her, maybe not love, but he did like her.
She seemed to be rushed to marry Johnny, he was only in the last two episodes (???) But everyone graduating and moving on in life was a natural thing. The show took place during the college years for the group, and after the 4 years, school was over, it only made sense for them to graduate and move on to their next plateau. I for one, love "The Parker's", it ranks up there with "I Love Lucy" episodes, I still laugh at them as if it is the first time I'm seeing them. I did wish the character of Nikki's ex husband Mel was in it a little more, I felt he was a nice addition to the crew. Regarding "Dezz" they could have acknowledged her not being on the show anymore by having a scene where Nikki is telling Andell that Desiree got a job promotion and ended up moving to another part of town, since it was a rental it would have made sense and been believable. |
