I heard that Davy was supposed to be the drummer but he was too short to be seen behind the drums so Mickey, being the only other non musician, was forced to learn drums.

Anyway, Davy was my favorite because he sang most of my favorite songs. After seeing all the retrospectives over the years I can't see how anyone could like Mike Nesmith. Everything I've heard about him makes him seem like a conceited arrogant *******.

Maybe. But he was possibly the most musically talented of all of them, definitely more than Davey and Mickey so perhaps he was really aware of it and
felt like George Harrison must have felt in the Beatles. Under-recognized because the heart throb gets the most attention.

It's varied over the years. I used to like Davy (because he sang well and I envied his "heart throb" status) and Peter, because he was the funny one. But I've grown to like Mickey a lot; he really honors the Monkees and his past and he's a very good singer. And Mike, though not quite as warm seeming, is a very good musician IRL.

Heck, I like 'em all!

I like them all, but Mike's probably my favorite.

Mike had the coolest hair, had some great deadpan, the coolest sideburns, some country-rock music that was great (hints of Zappa in there on occasion, too)...

All 4 brought something fun and talent into the show, but Mike's persona appealed to me more.
