Mike Nesmith was my favorite. He was a talented Guitar player and he also wrote some good songs for the group.

I like them all comedy wise and musician wise. They worked well together. Davy, Mike and Mickey all had good singing voices too! I don't know if I ever really heard or remember Peter singing?

Crush wise, Oh yeah the tall Texan. Mike was HOT!!!! And Davy was a little cutie pie too!!!

I like Mike's calmness amongst the chaos the best but Micky's hyper tude is somewhat similar to mine [as I make my exit].

Micky was the best comedic actor out of the 4 guys and he also had a beautiful voice as well. Of course Davy with his boyish looks was the hottie of the group.

I can agree that Mickey had the most comedic talent and he could do slapstick and physical comedy better than the rest of them. He was not originally a singer or drummer and I heard that after the producers had them all picked and asked them who will be the drummer, the rest of them backed out leaving Mickey as the one who had to learn drums. Overall his singing voice became the signature sound of The Monkees, mainly because of what became their overall most-known and possibly most-played song, "Take The Last Train To Clarksville."
Davy was talented but still, being the " cutie" of the group, he was mostly thought of as a teen idol.

I myself would think of it as who was the most talented musician, which would make it a matter of thinking of Mike or Peter as the favorite . I heard that both of them were musicians not actors, and that Peter learned to play several instruments by the time he was in his late teens, including the harp.
Peter did not have much to do with singing in The Monkees. I think his most known, or only known song was"Auntie Grezelda" and I have heard it said that Peter's lack of singing ability is obvious in it which is why his voice is hardly heard singing lead in Monkees songs. (I think he sings nicely in "Auntie Grezelda." It is supposed to be a silly funny song. I like it. It is about someone, a young female, who was influenced by her grudge-filled aunt who needs to lighten up).
Mike was also a musician but I think his main or only instrument was the guitar. I liked his songs "What Am I Doin' Hanging 'Round?" and "Listen To The Band," and some others.

I guess I would want to be like Mike or Peter. No use being cute like Davy, or silly even in a talented way, like Mickey when the music is supposed to be most important.

I had a huge crush on Davy. Probably had something to do with his accent! I liked them all though. Happy memories!

Mike Nesmith was my favorite. He seemed to be the most down to earth of the bunch. Davy Jones is a close second. Micky Dolenz got most of the best songs though.
