What segments are you embarrassed to admit scare you?

Did you try going to a doctor who had them at the front desk, eating them on the spot, then putting the wrappers back in the bowl? Seemed to work for the guy interviewed, and he had a pretty steamy evening afterward so it should work for you.

That segment is my go-to guilty pleasure.

Picture being with a group gathered in the dark in the middle of the wilderness around a campfire. Then, imagine the tour guide begins to tell the legend of Glen and Bessie Hyde when this weirdo abruptly speaks up and says "I'm Bessie Hyde." And then goes on to tell how she killed her husband with a knife nonchalantly. It would have been incredibly unsettling.

This does not scare me as a viewer, but I found the whole scene eerie and If I were on that tour I would have noped out of there asap. At best, I would be sleeping with a pocket knife in my sleeping bag. Had UM utilized the creepy synthesizer music found in the Doreen Picard opening in the campfire confession scene instead of the music they chose, it would have given off a completely different vibe.

I just watched that segment this morning. One of the first times that UM used folklore to make the viewer think that Bessie could still be out there, when we all know in reality that Glen and Bessie both most likely perished on the river. The real mystery in that segment is who was the skeletal remains that were found? The music in that segment is arguably my favorite. But you are right that was before UM really went all in on the darker music. They don't even use the signature dark closing/credits music for that episode, maybe because it wasn't produced yet?

I remember the Chupacabra, Guardian UFO and Hudson River Valley UFO segments getting me very spooked as a kid. Not so much now, although I must admit they are still a bit eerie in how they're presented.

The photo they used as the one at the end of the segment where RS is giving her information as a wanted person. Her eyes are almost SOLID BLACK. That is a sign of demonic possession or evil spirits, traditionally. I'm not saying she was possessed, but she was soulless.

I don't know if it scared me! but the case of the black hope cemetery.....

I 100% don't believe in ghosts! but i find this case bizarre because it's all documented even the lawsuits the families made against the devolpers...

I mean a respectable couple buy a house in a nice neighborhood, someone tells them theres bodies buried in their garden, they dig and find them, the neighbors do too, one family even has a young daughter die while digging, high rates of cancer in the family..

some people have said they were lying but theres no evidence of that, whats fascinating to me is that i don't believe in ghosts but i can't think of any plausible explaination either..

I don't remember the details of the case, but don't you have to disclose something like that by law? It's a condition that can affect quiet enjoyment of the property. It's a material fact that you'd have to disclose.

that's the thing! there were two families involved, the first family found two bodies in their garden while they were planning to put a pool in, later they took the devolpers to court and won...

while this was going on the neighbors, the second family began to find things happening too, like strange "bumps" in their garden. so they to tried taking to devolpers to court, the judge told them that in order to go ahead, they had to prove their was a body or bodies buried on their property, so they started to dig, this is when things got stranger and while digging the daughter died.

then after the devolpers appealed the first decision, they won, thats when one or two of the families just up and left.

again i don't believe in ghosts, but this is all seemingly documented especially legally, so what was going on? it would be easier to put it down to them lying, but it's legally documented, the courtcases, the deaths, the high levels of sudden illness in these people.

it's surprising that with all these podcasts, series and netflix that nobody has taken a serious look at the case.

The allagash four never bothered me, I think because I didn't see it until I was older and I found it to be more on the ridiculous side. I can only imagine the fear I would have had if I saw it as a child. I had forgotten, but recently I went camping with my brother and he said that I made him watch the segment when he was a teenager. and it scared the you know what out of him.

Right? It is eerie. But now you get into their stories unraveling from the research and it doesn't seem as terrifying.
