It is the last series I fell in love with.
Thanks to evryone involved in it, it was really special.

Hope that one day they'll release the complete boxset for region 2... but it is highly improbable!

Yeah for a current show it's weird Warner releases it with manufactured on demand releases instead of official releases with extras. Another reason I don't think this show is a "hit" as some may think it is.

Allison reveals money was a key factor in ending the show. They all thought they'd have another year to wrap up everything. Since this season has been about Jill's love life, I'm not too concern if that's left hanging. It's not entertaining at all. I wish they had gone back to focusing on Tammy. She was supposed to be talking to her father who killed her mother when she was a kid. I would have like to have seen more of that. They're still filming episodes so hopefully they shift focus to where it's about stories that really matter and not the shallow love crap that you can find on any sitcom.

Allison Janney wanted Mom to continue, but says cancelation is "probably money"-related

"I wish that we'd had at least another year for the writers to have that much time to ramp up to the ending. We sort of found out sooner than we thought we would," Janney told James Corden on The Late Late Show. "We thought, 'Surely, they're gonna want more Mom.' And they decided not." She added that there are "many reasons" why she thinks CBS decided to pull the plug and that "most of them" are "probably money"-related.

I'm pretty certain it's going to be 16 episodes. The Mom finale is on May 6th. The show doesn't come back until April 1st with their 12th episode. If it runs all the way through until the series finale, that would only make 17 episodes unless the finale is an hour. I haven't seen anywhere that the finale will be one hour. I'm guessing we'll have one rerun in April and then come back to finish the run. It would total 16 episodes if that happens.

Mom doesn't wrap things up though. They forgot all about Jodi and her boyfriend. They bring up Violet's father in one episode and then drop him. Bonnie's mother makes an appearance and then in another episode she's dead. Bonnie and Christy act like they never met Bonnie's mother in the death episode. Bonnie's brother vanished just like Christy's brothers. And whatever happened to Regina? They just left her in a room over 5 years ago drinking wine by herself. There's more stories they just introduce for an episode or two and then drop them hoping fans forget so they can do these meaningless shallow stories of Jill's love life or Wendy dating a married man. I like the more realistic stories that they don't want to finish unfortunately. I hope we get to see an episode where Tammy meets her father but I doubt it since I read Jill is now sleeping with the has been music star Bonnie was trying to help earlier this season. It seems the show might heading for an ending with Jill finding a husband instead of all the ladies having a proper ending.

There were a lot of starts, now that you mention them. They could have developed into interesting stories.

So, in short, an indication that Mom is headed towards a disappointing series finale (read: No Anna Faris return at all). If Anna Faris was going to return for Mom's series finale, it should have been confirmed by now.

If the COVID pandemic hadn't happened, and Anna Faris still left Mom, it would have been far easier to bring-back her (and Christy's children) for the final episode, and said finale would definitely be a one-hour deal. No one these days is a fan of unresolved questions on a TV show that will remain unresolved forever. Might as well quit watching Mom now and avoid its final episode and all future syndication reruns.

CBS, you have forsaken me again.

People, even family, drift in and out of each other's life.

1. Violet's father was abusive towards Christy and never had a relationship with his daughter. Christy went to ridiculous lengths to ensure that Violet would never want to look for him.

2. Bonnie never had a relationship with her mother and chose not to have one when they met as adults. Her bio mom's death did trigger an emotional catharsis for her, and that's the only plot point they needed.

3. Bonnie's brother was a coke addict who only discovered he had a sister when his mother died. He's on his own journey regarding addiction. I do like the actor who portrayed the brother and always hoped that he would show up at a meeting.

4. Christy's brothers never knew that they had an older half sister. They gave her a share of her dad's estate, but I think it would have been odd if they had a huge desire to build a relationship with her.

5. Regina is on a different path than the AA ladies.

There's an old saying, "People are in your life for a season, a reason, or a lifetime. Cherish them all".

...
Fred Macmurray was able to film over 30 episodes of “My Three Sons” a year while filming at least one movie a year.

Yep. I think of those poor actors back in the 1940s and 1950s who had to film 39 episodes per season.

When Fred MacMurray was working on My Three Sons, filming was done for each season in three months. Each episode was filmed out of sequence and edited together. MacMurray had the clause in his contract to work on the show 65 days each year so he can do movies and play golf.
