I heard about this on the news this morning and I cannot believe that Dustin Diamond is now gone because it seemed that he was getting better and on the road to recovery. But when the news showed that Dustin Diamond had passed away I was surprised. I bet he had the exact same cancer that Alex Trebek had and I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same exact cancer as what Alex Trebek had that caused Dustin Diamond's death as well. I do hope that METV does a nice tribute to Dustin with a Saved By The Bell Marathon because he was so cool as Screech
Bestie
P. S. How did Dustin Diamond's character end up with the nickname Screech? Was his character a loud talker or did he annoy the characters on Saved By The Bell by yelling a lot and when he yelled he screeched? Because Screech sounds like a name for a stuffed animal of a parrot

His friend, Dan Block, said that he had a lump in his neck but didn't get it looked at because he didn't want people taking pictures of him and for it spread on social media. Same thing when he had MRSA and a large wound on his face

I guess that the nickname "Screech" was due to his voice being the way that it was in earlier episodes. Alex Trebek had pancreatic cancer. Dustin's cancer was in his lungs. I can't help but wonder why nothing has come from Mr. Belding yet concerning Dustin's passing. So far, he is the only person of the main cast who hasn't said anything yet.

God bless you and the remaining cast members always!!!

If I came across as a heckler, I do apologize. It was most definitely not my intention. Mr. Haskins spent the most time with Dustin since they both are who kept the TV show going when the other original members went on to do other projects. Maybe this is why it has taken him longer to say anything if anything ever does come from him. If nothing ever does, it will never be held against him where I am concerned. If anything, every inch of my heart goes out to him and the rest of the original cast.

God bless you and Dustin's TV family always!!!

Mario Lopez: I tried to convince Dustin Diamond to star in a reality show when I spoke to him two weeks ago

“I’m happy to say and I feel good about always having stayed in touch with Dustin. He had some struggles and a complicated life, but we all do,” Lopez says of his late Saved by the Bell co-star. “I don’t abandon, like, my friends or never turn my back on people that are always there for me and I stood by him and was always a phone call away when he moved to Wisconsin and we stayed in touch and he met his girlfriend recently. We were actually discussing, when I talked to him recently, just two weeks prior to him passing, about the upcoming season and figuring out doing something cool. I was trying to convince him to do something in the reality space that I’d be producing for him. It was actually pretty funny.” ALSO: Diamond had been working on a Screech A.I. Robot potential series.

Dustin Diamond died after returning home from the hospital

The Saved by the Bell star's girlfriend, Tash, and best friend, Dan Block, revealed that Diamond had been released from the hospital Monday morning after a brief weekend hospitalization, and had returned to the house he was staying at in preparation for hospice care, when he was found not breathing. Emergency personnel pronounced him dead a short time later. Diamond was hospitalized last Friday after he struggled to breathe. "Last Friday and Saturday he was able to talk and by Sunday he was having real problems breathing and barely speaking," said Block. "He was able to say a few things on Sunday, and was able to ask for a smoothie. But he was in pain. He got really bad by Sunday evening. By Monday you could tell he was in pain, I think he was suffering, by the way he was breathing." Block also revealed that Diff'rent Strokes alum Todd Bridges was one of the last people to speak to Diamond.

MeTV Remembers Dustin Diamond Presentation of Select “Screech” Episodes of ‘Saved By The Bell’

MeTV will present select episodes of ‘Saved By The Bell’ showcasing the late Dustin Diamond his character ‘Screech’, the beloved, geeky classmate. The tribute consist of six back-t0-back episodes airing Sunday, February 7th from 7 a.m. to 1o a.m. ET. Updated from the earlier Disney Channel TV series ‘Good Morning, Miss Bliss’, ‘Saved by the Bell’ originally aired from 1989 to 1993. It spawned several series offshoots including ‘Saved by the Bell: The College Years’ and ‘Saved by the Bell: The New Class’, which Diamond also starred in, as well as two made-for-TV movies.

More recently, Diamond appeared in several reality television series including the fifth season of ‘Celebrity Fit Club’, ‘The Weakest Link’ and ‘Celebrity Boxing 2.’ In December 2013, Diamond was featured on an episode of OWN’s ‘Where Are They Now?’ and was cast on the 12th season of ‘Celebrity Big Brother.’ Diamond died from lung cancer on Monday at the age of 44.

Here are the scheduled episodes:

7:00 a.m. ET – “Screech’s Woman” Trying to cheer Screech up so he’ll complete their science project, Zack pretends to know a girl who is interested in him.

7:30 a.m. – “The Gift” After a freak accident, Screech can predict the future – an ability Zach uses to his advantage.

8:00 a.m. – “Beauty and the Screech” After discovering she is failing in science, Kelly is tutored by Screech, and soon develops a crush on him.

8:30 a.m. – “Screech’s Birthday” After the gang forgets Screech’s birthday, he gets revenge by sending them all to detention, not knowing they’re planning a surprise party in Mr. Belding’s office.

9:00 a.m. – “House Party” Screech’s parents leave for Graceland. While they are gone, the gang accidentally breaks his mother’s Elvis statue. With only a little money, they decide to hold a party to get a new statue before his mother finds out.

9:30 a.m. – “Check Your Mate” After Screech makes it to the all-city chess finals, Zack and Slater make a bet with Valley that he will win, which soon leads to trouble.

There's something wrong with this current Florida governor, who lost both intelligence and direction lead to fail Florida completely which also led to Dustin's death, TBH, IMO.

^^^ What does anyone in that area have to do with any of this? Sadly things like this may happen no matter who gets placed where concerning the matter of public office positions.

God bless you and Dustin's family always!!!

^^^ Thanks for the news links. I feel so awful for him after reading about why he didn't go to the hospital sooner and why he did not want to be buried.

God bless you and his family always!!!
