Caroline: Oleg, you've never kissed Sophie?

Oleg: Not on the lips of her face.

Funniest segment goes to the two Jewish boys, Shmuley and David in "2 Broke Girls and the Kosher Cupcakes". I thought I was gonna die laughing at them!

I would say I liked season 1 the best. Liked the one where Sophie moves in upstairs and is making noise. Max writes her the "horrible, horrible note - with threats" (I will gut you like a hog!) We find out fast that Sophie will eat most of their cupcakes throughout the show, but ironically, it was really Caroline who she hit it off with the best at the start, since Max wrote the note and stayed quiet. That changed fast though and Sophie liked Max much more the rest of the show, often to the point of totally ignoring Caroline, who she saw as a pretty empty person with little value.

Other moments?

Best scene was when the guy offered Caroline a neck rub in lieu of a cash tip. Even if you hated the show that scene has to at least rate a guilty chuckle.

CBS Scheduling Chief Says “It Was Time” for "2 Broke Girls'" Cancellation
by Nellie Andreeva
May 17, 2017

The highest-profile casualty at CBS this season was veteran comedy "2 Broke Girls", canceled after six seasons. Why did the network ax its utility player, which was still doing OK in the ratings?

2 Broke Girls was a really good show for us for a very long time,” CBS head of scheduling Kelly Kahl told Deadline. “Our comedy development this year was very good and whenever your comedy development is really good, it puts a lot of pressure on some of your older shows. We felt creatively it was time and we had to create some space on the schedule to get some new product on.

Was the decision entirely creative and scheduling or it came down to business? "2 Broke Girls", which is not cheap, comes from Warner Bros TV, and there had been rumblings about the network seeking a piece of the show’s lucrative backend.

I think it was a creative decision more than anything else,” Kahl said. “It was not a show we own but we picked up Me, Myself & I and By The Book from Warner Bros. So I don’t think it was a business decision, I think it was creatively we felt it was time.

"2 Broke Girls", starring Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, got off to a blazing start in the 2011-12 season. While the sitcom, created by Michael Patrick King and Whitney Cummings, could not sustain early meteoric ratings heights, it has been a utility player for CBS.

Its Season 6 Live+7 adults 18-49 average, a 1.8 rating, is just a tad below renewed CBS comedies Mom and Life In Pieces (both at 1.9) and above picked up "Man with a Plan" (1.6) and "Superior Donuts" (1.5). It also is CBS’ youngest-skewing comedy.

But CBS has no ownership in "2 Broke Girls" while having to cover its cost (or most of it) because of the show’s age. Meanwhile, "2 Broke Girls" was a key asset for Warner Bros TV, holding the record for the biggest off-network comedy series sale, earning WBTV $1.7 million an episode from TBS alone.

If there was a real possibility that 2 Broke Girls was going to be cancelled by CBS, then Warner Bros. TV should have thought about starting discussions with TBS to continue its original run, even though 2BG already has enough episodes for a good-sized syndication package (138). Upon its airing last month, 2BG's showrunner stated that its sixth season finale was not produced as a series finale. So I do not agree with Kelly Kahl's statement that "it was time" to end 2BG's original run completely. This reminds me of when CBS cancelled The Jeffersons 30+ years ago.

"Stay Safe"? More like "Stay Sad".

So the show aired on CBS but wasn't owned by them, how does that work? has something like this happened in the past with other shows? and why keep it on the air for 6 years?

God I'm so happy it's over. It was so stupid especially with the character Max.

I think a reason that Warner Bros. TV decided not to shop 2 Broke Girls around to other outlets following its abrupt cancellation by CBS is because of the amount of people who hated the show. I think such people wanted the viewers of 2BG to be left hanging after the 6th-season finale.

To the people who hate 2 Broke Girls: Do you think Superior Donuts will be any better than 2BG?

Also, how well is 2 Broke Girls doing in syndication (TBS or broadcast)?

I don't think the show is timeless. It was cute while it lasted but I don't think people will watch it for years to come.

Superior Donuts isn't great ... it's got a lot of talented people involved in it, for it to be so mediocre.

It was time for "2BG" to end. It will always be around in syndication. Now if "Big Bang" would end. That show is horrible and atrocious

Many, many shows that aired on the major networks over the years weren't owned by that network.

Yesterday, Warner Bros. Home Video announced via press release a "Complete Series" DVD set for 2 Broke Girls, to be released on October 3, 2017, along with the sitcom's sixth season. This must mean that there is truly no way for 2 Broke Girls to get out of staying cancelled, so there will be no seventh season of 2 Broke Girls on TBS, as much as I would have been happy to see it. That would have been the only way that I can forgive CBS for cancelling 2 Broke Girls. I am now mad at Warner Bros. TV for not taking 2 Broke Girls to its sibling network TBS. I think Warner Bros. must have thought "And 2 Broke Girls: The Movie" would be a satisfying-enough conclusion for the whole series. All hope is really lost now.

The problem with 2 Broke Girls was that it followed a very strict formula in that virtually every second line was a punchline. To put things in another way, rarely did anyone respond to a question/comment with anything besides a dumb joke. In effect, 2 Broke Girls all too often, tried to hard to go for the big joke instead of mixing in real conversations mixed in with smaller jokes. You can be dirty/raunchy and juvenile with your humor, but there needs to be more beyond redundant, formulaic and tiring way that you deliver the message.
