Yep, TV's in place! The cable dude came over today...I had one hell of a time figuring out how to get my VCR to hook up to my TV w/o it scrambling whenever I turned the VCR on. But everything's in place now. :woohoo:

Rosie O'Donnell

SPLIT DECISION: Everyone's a loser in the case of Rosie vs. Rosie. A judge ruled Wednesday that neither Rosie O'Donnell nor the publisher of her doomed mag deserve damages in their dispute over its collapse. "It seems to me... we're just dealing with bragging rights here, who wins and who loses," said New York state Supreme Court Justice Ira Gammerman. Despite the split decision, O'Donnell could still ask Gruner + Jahr to cover her legal expenses. "I'm happy it's over," the former talk show host said outside court. She then used the opportunity to plug her new Broadway show Taboo, which opens tomorrow. She's no dummy.

Interesting. I used to read her magazine, and I read it right up to her farewell issue. :(

Paris Bitch Hilton.... GO AWAY.

COUNTERPUNCH: Paris Hilton's X-rated co-star, Rick Solomon, plans to sue his leading lady for defamation, claiming the hotel heiress wrongly accused him of releasing their homemade sex tape. Solomon's lawyer, Marty Singer, tells the New York Post that his client is suing "Paris, her parents and [publicist] Siri Garber for defamation." Solomon is probably also steamed about allegations that he took advantage of Hilton while she was nearly unconscious — which, if you've seen the footage, is a laughable idea. Paris is clearly wide awake, even vamping for the camera at one point. So I've heard.

When he tried out for AI in Charlotte they turned him away, basically telling him he was too ugly. So he had to go to Georgia and try out.

After he made it pretty far, a new station here held a Clay look alike contest. Some little boy won.

Cool, I like Angie Dickinson. :)

Grr, we keep missing each other!

Damn, the last two nights I've been on the phone fighting with an old friend of mine. Monday night sucked to begin with (because of said friend), so I'm just hoping the rest of the week will be ok. :(

Okay, this is the funniest thing ever...

Our mascot USED to be the Satans. After some school board loser made a big stink about the mascot "Satan" offending Catholics and whatnot in July (it happened right around the time I registered here), they voted to get rid of the mascot a week before school started in August...everybody was upset over that change and Satans memborilia (sp?) sold like crazy... Somebody made a limited edition Devils Lake Satans BOBBLEHEAD to sell. WTF?

I miss not being a Satan...After the school board dude made a stink about it, we were mascotless until February of THIS year and my class was the 1st to graduate as the Firebirds.

I never had a teacher as mean as she was, and she didn't care. If she thought you were doing something wrong, she'd yell at you in front of everyone.

If he's a really good teacher, and still cares about what he's there for everyday, I think that's great. Never had one that old. Maybe in their 60s, but they soon retired because they were sick and tired of the kids. Got to be bad by the time I hit senior year.

What a bitch. It wouldn't have killed her to just let the girl out, ya know. I really wonder about teachers sometimes. I mean, it's not like they're making a lot to begin with, so if you're going to spend 8+ hours a day teaching and whatnot, you better damn well do your job. Parents have a lot of influence, but so do teachers.

It seemed like I got a lot of messed up teachers though...Like my child molestor 10th/11th grade math teacher. UGH. He really really really creeped me out! He was just a little TOO friendly... One of the band teachers in my High School was arrested for molesting one of his students. Luckily I didn't have him for anything.

Hmm, I couldn't really say if he's a good teacher..I know he was strict, though...He teaches two classes of 8th grade Art at the middle school I went to, and I had him for a semester that year, and he wasn't that bad...He was just your average teacher. Older than average, but cool. You know?

And I forgot to mention he's been teaching since 1954. This is his 50th school year teaching!

This is the tribute they had to one of my classmates that died in a car accident. :( They had a bigger tribute to her in my junior yearbook, because she died the summer before our junior year. When I saw this (in my senior yearbook), it made me sad all over again. :(

The tribute to her in my junior yearbook was a full page long. Unfortunately, I left that yearbook at my new place so I don't have it right now.

The last kid I know that was in HS and died of cancer was in 1997..she would've graduated in 1998. She had a younger sis that was in my Algebra class...She (the girl that died of cancer) was really beautiful and so is the girl that was in my math class. I felt really bad for her when her sis died, because now she's an only child and she was only like 10 or 11 when her sis died.

OMG..that's awful. We had something similar to that happen when I was finishing my sophomore year...But it wasn't a car accident. There was this senior who'd had heart problems all his life and had had many surgeries to try to correct his problem...He left school in February (this was in 2001) to undergo a major surgery, and never came back for the rest of the year. He had a bunch of little surgeries after that and then after yet another surgery, he passed away on May 1st, just three weeks shy of graduating from HS. There was a BIG rememberance for him at the graduationi (I went to it). It was just...Wow. Surreal.

There was a boy that sorta went to my school. He was homeschooled, but he would have graduated at my school. Basically his whole family had cancer, him, his mom and his younger sister. Well he had just started getting better after his radiation therapy and one night they had a wreck. A horse crushed their car and he and his mom were killed. That guy was so sweet though, he was only 14 too. His little sister now goes to school with my sister.

OMG! That's awful! That's never happened to me the whole time I've been in school. :( One of my teachers in HS did have a husband that also worked as a teacher but retired from teaching in 1999. Two years later, he was diagnosed with kidney cancer and passed away in April 2002. He never got to enjoy his retirement for very long and he lost a lot of weight before he died - he was only 79 pounds when he passed away and he'd been this really tall, well-built man. It's a shame what cancer does to you. :(

Very stupid. They probably could've worked things out, but I have a feeling her boyfriend was going through some other things and that just added to it. I've had rough patches in my life, but I would NEVER turn to suicide as a way of getting out.
