Seeing these posts after a goodnight's Dollar Tree pill enhanced sleep I realize I was just cranky from the heat and my time in life. ;) (You guys are so lucky to be guys!) and I was out in the hot sun for hours trying to get my car tested for emissions before the deadline and it wore me out physically just being exposed to the friggin' weathuh! Matt will get that last KOQ reference. ;) You did absolutely nothing wrong. I need to put the keyboard away when I am feeling like that.

I will say this about Val though. Given her own drug problems she probably should have been more sympathetic to Mack's plight but those two have long since worked out their issues so all's well that ends well. I love how Val brought most of the cast to Hot In Cleveland for guest appearances except for Glenn, Nanette and Boyd who she omitted in her bio to for some reason.

I thought they were regular sized mags, but they were only slightly bigger then old school TV Guides. Each issue here is 46 pages). If I get adventurous, maybe I'll attempt to post the interview.

Removing all sitcoms (At least weekdays) except Rosanne, Mindy Project and Will and Grace returns some days - But this still leaves several runs on the table of several shows. Listing only go to the 7th.

Well, at least we had 3 month of ODAAT and ALICE, and they could return. But the channel seems to be getting it's "focus" back...

But if they planned to "rest" the show, why didn't they put in the last two episodes and end the run at 2/15? What difference would it have made. Then all of Runaways could have aired on the same day.

I was thinking of the Publicity and Personally fulled rivalry undercurrent between Val and Mac that might have affected whatever level of friendship (and I am sure if you asked each one what it was in the time period, you'd get a slightly different answer) and on-screen chemistry during the show when Valerie's popularity over Mac's became more than apparent. (And the thing is, they had great on-screen chemistry - again the real rivalry undercurrent coming through?)

I found a TV GUIDE interview (April 1st,1978 - Not a ODAAT Cover, BTW) with Val that refereed to her as "...The Prettiest Girl in CBS' One Day at a Time Cast" There's no way that didn't go over well with Mac. Especially considering what was going on in her own personal life with drugs and the stuff her father was doing to her.

I was thinking of the Publicity and Personally fulled rivalry undercurrent between Val and Mac that might have affected whatever level of friendship (and I am sure if you asked each one what it was in the time period, you'd get a slightly different answer) and on-screen chemistry during the show when Valerie's popularity over Mac's became more than apparent. (And the thing is, they had great on-screen chemistry - again the real rivalry undercurrent coming through?)

I found a TV GUIDE interview (April 1st,1978 - Not a ODAAT Cover, BTW) with Val that refereed to her as "...The Prettiest Girl in CBS' One Day at a Time Cast" There's no way that didn't go over well with Mac. Especially considering what was going on in her own personal life with drugs and the stuff her father was doing to her.

That writer was such a **** to do that to her.

Looks like the week of the 4th is either all specials or a summer weekday change of the listing. Removing all sitcoms (At least weekdays) except Rosanne, Mindy Project and Will and Grace returns some days - But this still leaves several runs on the table of several shows. Listing only go to the 7th.

Well, at least we had 3 month of ODAAT and ALICE, and they could return. But the channel seems to be getting it's "focus" back...

But if they planned to "rest" the show, why didn't they put in the last two episodes and end the run at 2/15? What difference would it have made. Then all of Runaways could have aired on the same day.

Will update on Sunday if needed.

Was Brooklyn practically a ghost town yesterday except for the parade?;) I imagine there was a really huge turnout for the celebration of this phenomenal prominent hometown boy!!:D :wave:

And just watched Dear Max!! All I can say is Max is a DOLL!! he's gorgeous, adorable, hot, handsome, cute!!! I LOVE HIM!!!! :heart: :eyes: :love: I can't say enough to even describe him!!!:) Also I noticed a lot more dialogue when he was talking to Annie while she was sleeping in the crib that wasn't in the Antenna version! ;)

Last Season 9 they are airing, along with the 4 episodes before it - and you can stream it on the LOGO website provided you have a cable provider.

This episodes editing should be interesting considering the plot. Removing lines and scenes can change the feel and tension of the episode if it wasn't done right.

She went out of her way to let us know that she and Spielberg were "sleeping together" which seemed like she was bragging a little about that achievement. But she is not my fantasy crush so I think I see her differently than some other people here. ;) She was trying to sell books and spilled all the dirt she could for her audience. Boyd Gaines didn't rate a mention which is a puzzler given the fact that he was part of her professional life for so long. Even Della Reese got a page or 2. :lol:

OK am I just imagining it or was all this cut out of Antenna??? When Max was talking to Annie in the crib do you guys remember him saying " Well we have to get the hobby horse from the garage that Schneider made for you! You like Schneider, he relates to kids.(or something to that affect) And of course Mr. Frog (as he gestures to a frog stuffed animal) , and we can't forget the Teddy bear, and the big tooth that Uncle Mark gave you (referring to that big toy tooth that is in the bedroom) . Aunt Rose will buy you lots of toys,and she has that big tractor in her yard that is so fun to play on "!!

For the life of me I don't remember Max saying all that? And I'm sure I would because I remember EVERYTHING that involves Max!! :D Anyway it was so heart touching.:heart: He was trying to make a sad, negative situation positive by telling Annie how she will have all her toys with her and new ones too, and she will have an Aunt Rose there in Texas ! ;)

Something Odd is going on with LOGO - AGAIN!

Listings on both Comcast's internal on-line advance guide and on logo's own TV Listings are Now showing ALL the sitcoms still being run week of the 3rd. (Including extra overnights for ODAAT and ALICE!)

The "new" line-up is completely missing and it was there yesterday on both - so someone,someplace screwed up but which way?- I'll keep on top of this.

If the sitcoms are staying, this would run us up to the end of season 3 with no skips by the end of next week.

New Digital transfers on modern equipment brings things out closer to what they look like on the master tapes than the old 42-33 year old syndication/CBS Daytime prints. (The CBS Daytime transfers were the basis for the first block of syndication prints)

This is different mind you,than the season 8 and 9 shows being taped over at Universal which have a slightly different feel to begin with being a new sound-stage, cameras and different lighting set up than at Metromedia. Those pop out even more with the new transfers.

So,yes - there's more detail in these prints across all 9 seasons.

What really makes no sense in all of this is the time and staff to cut down the shows - they have to view the episode to transcript and mark to see what to edit out, then edit, then add the closed captioning which needs to be added to a show this old. If you've looked at that, they tend to shorthand that as well! They have done this to well over 2000 episodes, perhaps 2500 or more. (ODAAT,ALICE,FACTS,AITF,and MARRIED alone are over 1400 episodes!) Even if they get several runs during a contract, that is still an expense that is carried.

It just have made more sense to take the off-the-shelf 22:30 syndication length of all the series,do a a light time-compress,add the on-screen end credits (Which could get to say 21:30)and then charge a little more for commercials? (Heck, they could make up the difference with more adds in "Cocktalls and Classics" - they are running TV versions anyway to begin with. People who watch movies on channels with commercials expect editing anyway) Would have been less time and expense right there.

But this is a debate for another time and place - so let's all get the focus of this thread back on the show.

Even I know there's a difference between Svenghoolie (and MST3k's) creative editing needs for editing a movie to fit the film and segments together, and the needs of what Viacom is doing regardless of how it is being done.
