Yesterday, my husband and I bought a new vacuum cleaner. We really needed one. We had new carpet installed in January, due to the fire.

We got a good deal on a Dyson vacuum. I've had my eye on this for a while. The commercials were calling my name. It's bagless, lightweight and state-of-the-art. My husband just vacuumed, and I couldn't believe what he got out of the rugs. He had to empty the canister twice. The rugs looked clean before he vacuumed, so this was stuff inside. Kinda scary to think what lurks in our rugs. It also cleans hard floors.

Here's the model we bought. Got a great deal at Target. Paid $310. Originally priced at $400. :thumbsup:

I know, the terms probably went over most of your heads, heh, but you can see they are all colored and all eyelets in this picture!).

Yeah, all your food would have spoiled. It's just always something. It cost us $100 for a plumber to tell us that our washer and dryer couldn't be saved. I hate that.

The salesman at Home Depot told me last week that today's major appliances are built to last about 10 years. I think that's lousy. It's a serious whack in the wallet. Ours was a top-of-the-line Maytag, much like your parent's. It's a stackable washer and dryer. With no kids, it didn't get that continuous use, like it would if we were a family of five. It looks like it belongs on the showroom floor, but the the motor went on it, so *shrug*, a new one it is. Such is life. If that's all I'm complaining about today, I'm doing okay, lol.

This movie was originally in theaters October 8, 1993 and was came out on blu-ray on August 16, 2011. I have been wanting to get this on blu-ray for the past couple months and was finally able to Saturday when I went to Best Buy. They had it marked for $14.99 and I got it on sale for $9.99 which I thought a pretty good deal.

I also bought my first book-on-tape. Killing Lincoln by Bill O'Reilly. He narrates it, and I've heard he does a good job. The book reads like a thriller.

It's set up in the bedroom which is great because I've been on a 24-hour marathon of The Office. Just leaving my room to shower and call take-out, lol. That tv is only two years old and has HD. Lou's having a problem setting up the other one in the living room. That's our huge Sony that's 12 years old. All the reviews I read said that their Rokus worked with very old tvs, and the guys at Best Buy said it wouldn't matter. We'll see tomorrow. This little project is now up to almost $500 now, with the two Rokus, router, two sets of cables at $50 a piece.

Lou's close to having Best Buy come here to get it up and running. They charge $150 for that. He said we're in so deep, that it doesn't matter. I disagree. The plan is to have Lou watch all his alien/action/adventure movies on the sofa, while I watch tv shows and sappy movies, lol. Just kidding. I am excited about this. I can't believe all unlimited streaming for $7.99 a month. We'll add a couple of mail dvds in time as the New Releases aren't available. I'll tell you though, I saw a lot of good recent movies while flipping through. Thanks for asking. Sorry for writing a book.

Sorry you're experience such headache with it so far. If I lived closer to you, I'd definitely help you and Lou hook everything up (I'm sort of an A/V nerd). I hope that in the 18 hours since your post, you've gotten everything resolved and are enjoying streaming Dick Van Dyke episodes on Netflix!

I purchased 64 Dove candy bars that were on the CVS discount table for .29 each and I believe the regular price was $1.19 each. Unfortunately, I can't eat them since I'm a diabetic so I'll be dividing them out amongst mine and my girlfriend's families. :)

That's a lot of candy bars. Why were they so cheap? Are they about to expire? Just wondering. :)

It looks like the expiration date is in a code that the consumer needs a rosetta stone to decipher but my mom tried a couple of them and said they were as good as if they were made yesterday. CVS could've put them on the discount table for other reasons such as overstock or new packaging.

Just purchased 10 cartons of Pepsi & Sierra Mist (12-pack cans), the store had a buy 2 get 3 free sale and I had 10 coupons good for .75 off each one. Coupons are tripled this week so with the deal and the coupons, I paid $3.78 for all 10 cartons which worked out to .37 each and the regular price is $6.39 each.

Today is my husband's birthday, so I bought him a nice sleep mask. I watch tv in bed at night, so this should come in handy. He's been using a cheap one, so I bought him one from Sleep Master. I also stuffed his birthday cards from me and the kitties, with $$$.

If I feel good later, I'd like to go out for an early dinner, after the Sox game, that just started.

Yesterday I bought 34 candy bars including Snickers, Milkyway, Twix, Three Musketeers & M&M's. Regular price was $1.09-$1.15 each and they were buy one get one free. I had 17 coupons that were each good for .50 off 2 which doubled to a dollar so my final cost for all was $3.08. I actually had 20 coupons but this young woman and her daughter were at the candy rack trying to figure out how much they could purchase so I gave them 3 of the coupons to help them out. :)

Cupcakes from this awesome place near my house called Something Sweet. They won an episode of Cupcake Wars, and are always so busy, especially on Sat. You got to get there early on Sat. and they're only open 10-1, and once they sell out, they close early. I have a feeling they close early every Sat.!!!

Kroger's had their 2-liter coke products on sale for .99 but you had to buy 10 & use a Kroger Plus Card. That CVS deal sounds the best if you happen to have one in your area.


My last purchase was a couple of used hard-back books I ordered online from Hastings, they offered free shipping for a few days so I just couldn't pass it up.
