Last year, we had over 100" of snowfall... I think MD has already suprassed that amount for the year, and it's not even spring yet. You have my utmost sympathies.

I haven't been able to find out the total snowfall for my area yet... Bummer. We just keep getting more and more every week AND I'M ****ING SICK OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO AWAY, SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :livid:

This is the most snow I've seen since I was 6 or 7 years old. We just never got much snow in NC and PA hasn't had this much since I moved up here. I guess the snow is supposed to start here tonight. They're only calling for 5 or 6 inches though which sounds great compared to last week.

If you guys haven't already, my employer has Dynasty for DIRT CHEAP right now. Seasons 1 - 3 (volumes 1 and 2 of season 3) are running for $9 each.

I think season 4, volume 1 is $15 and volume 2 is $25.

My TV-DVD collection has seen a HUGE jump as of late because OMG SO MANY DIRT-CHEAP DVDS ALL OVER THE PLACE. :cheer: In case you haven't figured it out already, I grabbed Dynasty S2 and S3, but haven't gotten both volumes of S4 yet.

Sonny, I've watched the first 5 episodes of Dallas Season 12 and I'm confused... is this really Dallas or is it the sequel to Cool Hand Luke? Heck, with George Kennedy on the show now it's hard to tell. It's not that
bad, but it sure is different. I noticed that Hagman is listed as an executive producer so I'm wondering if he's partly responsible for the direction this show went in during the last few seasons. I do like J.R.'s new girlfriend/soon to be wife although she doesn't look a day over 18.

 It does have that Cool Hand Luke feeling toward it. I'm not sure if Hagman was responsible for the switch in character or not. He always said that he was just an Executive Producer in name only. JR just became a shadow of his former self though in the last few seasons. Can you picture the JR from season 1 getting put on a chain gang? The show wasn't awful but it was not as great as it once was. The last 2 seasons are worse though because you get more and more new characters and they weren't as good as the ones they replaced. Cally really was young. The first time I saw her she guest starred on an episode of Growing Pains as a date of Mike Seavers. That tells you how young she was. I think that's where the Dallas producers first saw her too.

MickeyMac

I have to admit I didnt like the chain gang storyline on season 12 of Dallas. For starters J.R was way too sharp to let himself get in a mess like that. Second, while Cally was pretty, she was waitress in a small southern town. Normally JR wouldnt have given her the time of day. I did like the ranch war storyline though, they were Steve Kanaly's last appearaces until he showed up on the last episode.

I once read that the writers felt that JR should have a younger wife, so I guess thats why we got the Cally storyline.

I must tell the truth... I have a huge backlog of DVDs to watch right now, Dynasty is just gonna have to wait for a bit. I'm trying to breeze through 7th Heaven... I can't believe they only have two more seasons left to release now. Their 10th season will be on DVD next month, and I haven't heard anything about the 11th season. So far I have 1-6 and 9... I better hurry up and find 7-8, because I've been breezing through the seasons at an alarming rate (halfway thru the 5th season now).

I seriously hope the DVDs I bought in 2003-2004 still work... Remember the problem I was having with getting the pilot of Hunter to play? I believe I bought season 1 back in 2005. So yeah. But then I bought season 1 of Cheers back in 2003, and the discs played just fine when I played them last.

Sorry, just realizing how much I've sunk in DVDs in the last 8 years. Ouch.

 If I didn't know any better, I'd get the feeling that Patrick Duffy was the star of Dallas. At least that's how it seemed for the first 10 or so episodes anyway. J.R. is different, that's for sure. Looks like his wife is going to follow in his footsteps. In one episode she says she's 24, but when they were in that small town it was sorta implied that she was barely legal. I guess the producers wanted to make her a little older so J.R. wouldn't seem like such a creep. I don't know much about the last 2 seasons of Dallas, but I did read a spoiler one time about how J.R. is put in an institution at some point. I look forward to seeing that.

BTW, do you know the actress who plays Bobby's girlfriend? She looks so familiar, I'm wondering if she was on a show before Dallas. I'm thinking I saw her on a soap opera many years ago, but I don't know for sure.

Sherrie J. Wilson who played April was Bobby's girlfriend for most of season 12. They split up and he started seeing Carter's McCay's daughter, but that ended when Carter's son showed up and attacked April. Bobby and April get married at the end of season 13.

Its also at the end of season 13 where J.R. gets himself locked up in the mental asylum.

Beth Toussaint played Tracy Lawton. She did appear in a few episodes of Melrose Place back in the 1990's. I don't know if she appeared in anything before Dallas though.

No it wasn't just you. The season 12 cliffhanger was the worse in Dallas history. I didn't particularly like Sue Ellen's fake movie although it was nice to see some of the old clips again. I agree, hopefully Sony let's Shout Factory or someone else have the rights so we can get the whole series. Kind of like with Gimme a Break, who had a Season 1 release then another company released the whole series

Andy Hummel from the 70's band Big Star recently died. Just a few months ago Alex Chilton from that band died also, and another Big Star member Chris Bell passed away in 1978. That just leaves the drummer Jody :(

Hey Allison, hope all is well with you these days - Read on another thread where you said you are off work for awhile. Everyone needs a break now and then - especially me lol I'm still workin with the police dept. on nightshift and it seems i'm never home and when I am, I'm asleep lol I was in NYC a few weeks ago visiting family. Yep - I had a breast reduction last week (I was about a K-L cup... in other words, I was ALL CHEST. Now I think I might be about a C-D cup. So weird not having 3/4 of my chest attached to me anymore!) and because of the nature of my job where I do a LOT of lifting, I have to take a 6 week LOA due to the severe lifting restrictions I'm under (5 pounds weeks 1-3, 30 pounds weeks 3-6). The first week is up, so now I have another 5 weeks to go... I'll be back to work one weekend before Labor Day weekend (hoping to have my first day on 8/27). So yeah. Really glad to be off work for a while, because it was getting ridiculous! But I'm bored already.

Who's the Boss? for sure... DuckTales... Charlie's Angels (I still need to grab the 4th season but I'd like them to put out the final season ASAP!)... Growing Pains... Charles in Charge... Definitely the rest of Dynasty... HUNTER, GODDAMMIT, and I'm not talking about the Mill Creek release that's coming out because that one isn't going to have captions on it. and hmmm Family Ties.

I love 7th Heaven a lot, and have all 10 seasons they've released so far. They had 11 seasons but haven't announced a season 11 release yet. I hope it'll be soon! I love when I finish a series. :D

Thinking of eventually picking up the Matlock seasons and finishing out my Stargate SG1 series (I think I have up to season 6 so I just need seasons 7-10). :)

you need to install Adblock (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/) Sonny, you can have it just block problem Ads (or just block em all - it will speed up your surfing a lot)

you may want to clear your cache and make sure firefox is up to date as well.

I've seen a few of the clips and it looks like it could be pretty good. The great thing about it is they're bringing back a lot of the original cast and that helps a lot to draw interest in the new characters. I hated the way it ended and the movies didn't really bring closure either so this is a good thing and I agree with what you said about the last few seasons. I think the first time I saw Jodie Foster was on an episode of Mayberry RFD. I think she was around 6. I loved her in The Accused and The Silence of the Lambs. It's too bad she doesn't act much anymore.

I turned on the Accused once right when they showed the gang rape scene. I don't think I'll ever be able to watch that movie. She was great in Silence of the Lambs and I liked her earlier films Foxes and The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane although that was a bit creepy with Martin Sheen chasing after her.

I think she did a film with Mel Gibson recently called "The Beaver". Her and Mel are pretty good friends. She's about the only friend in Hollywood he has now.

Next to the dream, that was the biggest disappointment of it all. Why would you get rid of a guy who just destroyed Ewing Oil and replace him with a Stiff with no personality?

That was another sign the writers were running out of ideas. The only interesting thing about him was his wife and JR trying to seduce her.

I know what you mean. Those were wonderful times. :)

I used to stay up until 2 am easily...sometimes later. Now I get tired by 11 or 12.

Hard to believe I started talking to you guys nearly 8 years ago. I used to have so much trouble keeping up sometimes with my crappy computer.

I can't believe it's been so long since we used to have our late night chat fests. So much time and so much has happened

Sometimes it seems like a lifetime ago, sometimes it seems like only a year ago lol I remember there were some nights when I would have to work and when I logged onto SO the next day there would be like 30 pages in our thread I would have to catch up on from the previous night lol

The only negative reviews I saw were from critics. I was worried that they'd mess with the theme and was surprised that they kept it.

I watched 1 or 2 episodes. It's actually not a bad idea on paper, but this show is aimed at a particular audience and that doesn't include me.
The only one I liked on the show was Sue. When she didn't appear on one episode I figured I better quit.

The Accused is a very intense drama. I don't think there is any comedy in it and Jodie really showed her acting chops in that one.

I used to be a big Mel Gibson fan. I collected a bunch of his movies....not any more.
