Sometimes it seems like a lifetime ago, sometimes it seems like only a year ago lol I remember there were some nights when I would have to work and when I logged onto SO the next day there would be like 30 pages in our thread I would have to catch up on from the previous night lol
I'll never forget that one weekend where we all started to talk at 11 Friday night and it lasted through Sunday Night. I only took a few hours off to get some sleep but I think the thread was still going.

I'm not a Nighthawk anymore. There's been a few times that I went to bed at 9. I could never do that in the old days.

Oh, how I miss the old JTS Site. I used to spend hours on end, reading the hilarious comments, people made, about certain shows, and the reason why it Jumped The Shark...
JTS was great. So was TV Tome. I hate it that they were destroyed like that.

Speaking of getting old....
Yesterday, I went to the San Diego Fair. Was there for 6 hours. Did a lot of walking. Saw Kenny Loggins and John Tesh in concert (exciting, huh?). Came home around 9. Oh! Man!, the next morning, my entire body is stiff...
 Sounds like you had fun though.

I actually saved several pages from that site on my computer because I knew TV Guide would probably delete the original page at the internet archive.

Did Kenny sing the Caddyshack theme song? He had a few good songs. I also like Danger Zone from Top Gun.

I saw the Buckinghams last fall and I swear I was the only person there under the age of 60. Talk about feeling out of place.

The Accused is a very intense drama. I don't think there is any comedy in it and Jodie really showed her acting chops in that one.

I used to be a big Mel Gibson fan. I collected a bunch of his movies....not any more.

She won her first oscar for that one didn't she?

I was surprised to see him on Leno about a month ago. I thought his career was over for good.

I want to return to The Fair, but I am debating on what concert I want to see next? It is a toss between, KC & Sunshine Band or Grand Funk Railroad
Wow. They really try to stick it to you at those places.

My nephew is going to be a dad. I remember bring him to my High School Graduation when he was only two weeks old. Now, he is 24 and going to be a pop!
Wow. Time sure flies.

Pheylan's mom turned 35 yesterday. She was 7 when she attended my HS Graduation.

Times seems to fly by faster and faster, the older you become. My youngest niece is going to Kindergarten this year. It seems like yesterday, that my brother announced that he was going to be a dad!
Life is funny. When you are a kid, you can't wait to grow up. You want the years to go by fast and they seem to go real slow. Then when you are older, you want to slow down the years and they seem to go real fast.

John Stamos smiled at me.. Hey, I was skinny, tan and blonde then...:snob:
Anyway, the first taping I saw (this was back in 1992) was the episode when Kimmie pierced Stephanie's ears, and they became infected.

I saw ANOTHER live taping (this time the year was 1994) and no, John, did not flirt with me this time:( *sniff sniff* Oh well! The episode (and forgive me, I totally forgot the name of the ep) was when Michelle and her little friend sold a "TON" of lemonade, and made a lots, lots of money. And with their dough their bought a pet mule.

I saw John Stamos, a year ago, he was performing with the Beach Boys, playing on the drums. I swear, the man "still looked the same" did not age a bit:)

A lady that went to my church years ago (when I still went regularly lol), always talked about the time she was visiting relatives in Cali and got to attend a taping of "Maude". She got to meet several of the cast members afterwards including Rue McClanahan and Esther Rolle. That would have been neat.

The thing about Johnny, he was just naturally funny. He wasn't mean spirited like alot of today's comedians. Ed McMahon was great too. I remember staying up late to watch his final show. That was a national event. I missed Leno's final show or his triumphant return.

A good friend of mine, grandfather, knew Redd Foxx. According to him, Foxx, was super crude. So I can only imagine, what his "interaction" with the studio audience was like, while took a break from filming Sanford and Son. I am sure, Redd, shocked a couple of people:lol:

I wonder if any episodes of Captain Video still exist. I've wanted to see that show ever since Ralph and Ed talked about it on the first episode of the Honeymooners.

It's a damn shame. The thing with the Tonight Show with Carson was back then they had real stars on the shows, unlike today where anyone on tv is a star. They are great channels. They even show the entire opening and closing credits. TV Land & N@N sold out. I waited a long time to get TV Land and I only had it about 2 years when they started changing it.

Car 54 is a pretty good show. It's great seeing Fred Gwynn as someone other than Herman Munster. I really had only seen a few episodes of the show before this.

Well I hope I never get those channels because if I did they probably wouldn't have any good shows on anymore with my luck.

Yeah, I think I heard somewhere that Freddie's tragic death was one of the reasons why the show didn't do well in syndication. It was in an old syndication guide book. I forget the name. Wow I never knew that. :( I think the ones that had good home lives are the ones that make it after their tv career is over. I remember Gary Coleman doing tv commercials with his mom. He looked so happy. I guess it was all a lie. :(

I was watching an episode, from the show's second season. The plot was about Julie McCoy's 10th High School reunion. Well, in this episode, Julie falls in love with her old high school sweetheart; but, unfortunately, for her, he is involved with Lisa Hartman. Julie tries to steal him away from Lisa. COME ON, get real! This is Lisa Hartman, we are talking about? It was one of the lamest episodes I have ever seen!

 What guy in his right mind would dump Lisa Hartman for some average cruise director.

Oh yea I always had control of the tv on Saturday mornings. I used to get up at the crack of dawn. I liked those days though because we all watched tv together. My parents liked AITF and the rest of Norman Lear's shows so I didn't have much problem watching my shows. The biggest shows that my Mom liked was The Waltons and Little House on the Praire and I liked them too. I know she liked Cagney & Lacey and Lou Grant but they came on at 10 and I was in bed by then. Cagney & Lacey was one show I could never stand though.

Those were the days. I'd watch cartoons until noon then it was wrestling followed by bowling.

By the time I was 10 or 11, I had my own tv so I didn't watch much tv with my family after that. I still have memories of watching shows like Simon and Simon, Cagney and Lacey, Matlock and Murder She Wrote with the family though. I remember liking Cagney and Lacey, but I was so young, I didn't know better.

I had a bunch of Six Million Dollar Man toys. I remember I had an action figure and his rocket ship.

People like to joke about Hello, Larry but if you were to compare it to something like Chelsea, it would look like The Honeymooners compared to that crap.

Some of those unopened action figures from the 70's and 80's can fetch big bucks. I wish I hadn't opened all my action figures I had when I was a kid, Superman, DC superheroes, Star wars. They'd probably be worth a fortune.

The Fugitive is a great show. A & E reran the whole series in the early 90's I think. It's very suspenseful and David Janssen is great in the role. William Conrad ( Cannon) actually narrates the show. The Harrison Ford Fugitive is actually one of the better tv to theatrical movies ever made.

I'm afraid to buy the show on DVD because there was a huge issue with the music. A lot of the soundtrack had been replaced. I hear they're going to come out with a complete series set soon that fixes all the mistakes on the season sets though so that's good.

After watching the first couple seasons on DVD, I don't believe much of the original music was altered that much since in the original episodes, almost all of the music was instrumental background music anyway. It really doesn't have that much of an impact on the episodes themselves as the music does in other shows like WKRP or Miami Vice.

They don't care about any of their classics anyway so it's easy to interrupt them. If they really cared they would get a bunch of his shows and air them like they did with John Ritter.

Yeah, I saw him in an episode of Bionic Woman recently and was surprised to see him. I never saw the whole Dukes movie, but from what I saw it was still better than the Mod Squad movie.

If they hadn't done something for Andy I bet they would have got a bunch of angry e-mails. I remember reading about the shows they aired for the John Ritter tribute. I thought that was great even though I didn't have TV Land at the time.

TV Guide should set up an archive on their site where you can view old TV Guides. Heck, they could even charge a few dollars a month to view them, I'd pay.

I had a bunch of the newer TV guides, but I threw most of them away. They're basically a tabloid magazine now. The only ones I kept were a couple of Fall Previews and the Farrah Fawcett tribute. Sadly, I only have two real TV guides before it became a magazine and they're from 2004.
Now that would be cool. They used to have a cover gallery on their website but I think that's gone now. I don't even go to the website much anymore.

TV Land went all out on John Ritter. Some of the stuff they aired I didn't even remember. TCM is going to have a movie tribute for Andy on the 18th I think. They're supposed to air Face in the Crowd and No Time for Sergeants. Those are 2 of his best movies. TV Land could have done so much more. Andy appeared on a lot of shows and tv movies in the 70's. I know it's hard for me to remember. I know I used to buy the newspaper every day but now I just go on the internet. I never got any Dallas Cowboy news until gameday and now I get it daily. I think we've all been spoiled.

 They must be losing a lot of money because of the internet. I noticed that my local newspaper now costs 75 cents. It used to be only 50 cents a year or 2 ago.

Well I guess if he is the Larry Tate then maybe he does know Darrin Stephens. Seriously he's been doing this for years. I think he likes the attention. He says he likes Dick York but does everything to trash him. He even posts a letter from York's wife showing how York and Montgomery didn't like each other and then he says only believe part of it, not the part where she defends Dick. He's an idiot.

He better be careful or Samantha might cast a spell on him and turn him into a jackass. Oh, wait, too late.

The guy is nuts. Sure we love our tv shows and maybe we can be a little obsessive at times, but he takes it to a whole other level.

They are comedy snobs. Yeah, the only single camera comedies that air on my local channels are It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Scrubs and they air at 1 in the morning.

I hope it does well, I'm just afraid that it's too soon. I think they should have waited until after 2 1/2 Men ended to put a new show in that time slot or they could have moved Mike and Molly into that slot since it's been on longer. I'm looking forward to the next season of BBT. It will be interesting to see Howard and Bernadette as a married couple.
It's Always Sunny...is one of the few single cams I like and that's because they are all so stupid. Yea I've noticed that's on late at night. I could never get into Scrubs. Maybe the reason sitcoms were having such a hard time last decade was that the networks started making these type of sitcoms.

Yea they probably should have waited. I don't know about that new show Partners. It's from the creator of Will & Grace. I was never much of a fan of that show. Mike & Molly is one of my favorites. but for some reason it probably isn't strong enough for a 9:00 slot. I can't wait for TBBT either. I hear people complaining about Bernadette & Amy. I think they've made the show even better. Howard is a very underrated character. He tries to play everything straight and he's hilarious.

I bought a USA TODAY a couple months ago after I couldn't get on the internet for a day. It cost a dollar. I used to buy it every week back in the 80's. It was 50 cents then and it was the most expensive paper. I think our local paper was only 25 cents. USA TODAY used to be a great paper but I noticed it wasn't as good as it used to be. I always used to get it for the entertainment news and sports.

Well he called me a Yorkie so I put Dick York in my avatar.

Well Direct TV turned off all the Viacom channels. I don't even miss them. The only thing I'll miss is Hot in Cleveland on TV Land. One show on all those networks. I never noticed that Viacom is nothing but junk.

I've seen a couple of episodes and you're right. I remember seeing previews for it when it started and they were promoting it as some sort of anti-Friends sitcom, and they made fun of the Friends opening.

I could never really get into Scrubs either although I tried. The main characters were more annoying than funny although I did enjoy the few appearances John Ritter made.

Is that the show about a straight guy who's best friend is gay? You may be right. I think it's a good show and though I don't watch it every week, I like the characters especially the hot sister and the crazy grandma.

I was actually one of them. I didn't like Amy at first but they started turning her into a human being and not just some female Sheldon like she was originally and now she's probably my favorite female character. I always crack up whenever she compliments Penny. Howard's probably the most normal character on the show now but he still has some quirks like his mom and his belt buckle collection.

I bought USA Today a couple of times. I remember it had much more tv info in there than the local newspapers.

 I heard they're working on a deal to bring them back. It wouldn't bother me at all if they got rid of all those channels and that's about half of the channels I get up here.

Yea it's about two friends, one's straight and the other's gay. Why can't they make it 2 women?

Mike's mom is a hoot. She should be nominated foe an emmy. Everytime she's on tv she cracks me up. I can understand why some didn't like expanding the cast for TBBT. The cast was pretty perfect. I think the show is in a grove right now. I can't wait for the new season.

That's why I used to like them. I used to make scrapbooks of articles from it and other papers back in the 80's. I still have a few of those. I quit doing it in the 90's when the quality of tv went down. That's why I argue with the younger set about the demos being important. It was never the most important rating that it is today. Ratings from back then didn't even list the demo in the papers. I think the demo has killed tv because it seems like all they care about is all that reality crap.

I was a little put off by it at first but now I don't care. The best of their channels is TV Land and that isn't saying much. I have about 24 episodes of Hot in Cleveland on my DVR that I haven't watched so I'm set through next season.
