Sonny here was in high school when you were starting school (okay, he's going to hit me over the head for saying that... :o ).

We both started school in the 80's...Pretty damn freaky... Like I said before, the 80's seems like it was another lifetime ago. People born in 1980 are already a quarter-century old, and I am almost to the 20-year mark since I started school. That makes me want to cry. :(

Yeah, the 80's do seem like a lifetime ago. What is funny is that during the 1980's I never imagined that people would look back so fondly on that decade, myself included. Well, maybe if the 90's hadn't sucked so much...

I was in high school just three years ago but some days it really does seem like it was a long time ago...Other days, it seems like just yesterday. I started school 18 years ago, and that freaks me out every time I think about it. It seems like it was another lifetime ago. omg:

Its a shame so many of the actors from Rebel died so young. That movie always has a chilly feeling for me when I watch it.

Natalie Wood died very young too. She also played Debbie in The Searchers, the only John Wayne movie I like.

That's how I feel sometimes when I watch Bewitched. I want to cry every time I think about how barely anybody on that show lived past, say, 65 years old. :( The only people still alive are the actors who were kids on the show + Alice Pearce #2, I think. Everybody else croaked before 1999. :( A LOT of the people on Bewitched were younger than the people on The Munsters, and both shows debuted in 1964...The only major actor from The Munsters that is gone now is Fred Gwynne. Everybody else is still alive.

John Cazale was a good actor. I believe I own every movie he was in. There are the first two Godfathers, The Conversation, Dog Day Afternoon and The Deer Hunter...all of which are great movies. He was actually dying when they were filming The Deer Hunter.:(

I own every movie of his except for the Conversation but I've seen it before. It's a great movie.

Yeah. :( I haven't seen the Deer Hunter in a few years, I'm gonna have to watch it again real soon, it's one of my favorite DeNiro movies.

Suffice it to say that it's simply not a word I'd use on here, rules or not, unless I could be sure that only adults would read it.

I thought so. :D Do you display them? Do they come in a box and you keep them in there, or what? 2002-model model cars would be pretty neat to see. :D Are you going to start collecting model cars?

I THINK I have roughly about 200 plates. I prefer to collect plates from my home state. ;) It would be really neat to eventually own one of the governor's license plates... Here, the governor has a special-issued plate that says "1" on it with four stars surrounding the "1." I know the governator is in the building when I see his license plates on his car in the parking lot.
(Commercial Break) I take them out of the box, and display them on my dresser. ;) I think I'm going to start collecting them

Oh yeah, that reminds me. You already have quite a fortune sitting in your boxes. I'm almost positive you would get some SERIOUS moola for your TV Guides. ;) I know you aren't going to sell them, just giving you an idea.

Yea I'll have to go through them and see what I have. I think all the short tv guides will go up in value now that they aren't making them anymore. I wish I had started collecting them about 10 years before and that way I'd have a bunch of the 1970's shows too.

Yea they are lame. The cover I got is Reba McIntyre as I Love Lucy. They do have some nice pictures in it though from the different decades. I'll probably need a bigger box now that the guides will be bigger.

I wish my mom had saved the ones she used to get in the 1980's. I remember a lot of great covers back then, plus they were dirt-cheap in the checkout lane.

Yep when I started collecting them they were 60 cents. Now they are $2.49. I can't wait to see what they will be next week. Also the tv guides were better then. You could find what you are looking for. I honestly only look at the articles now because the listings are so hard to understand.

Thats one of the tv guides I don't have because it was during the summer. I didn't start collecting summer tv guides until the mid 90's. :(

Yea. I was 18 when I first started collecting tv guides regularly. :(

God when I look through them they really do take me back...great sitcoms...great dramas like The A_Team, Dallas, and Magnum P.I. and no reality shows. :D

Yea I remember when you got it. :) Those CA covers are real nice. I would also love to have every fall preview addition . I wonder how much that would cost.

Man, you were really living the life back then.

It makes me feel all good inside looking at the scans of the TV Guides from the 80's. :biglove: Especially the ones from the late 80's. Man... *sighs* They knew how to do the covers right. They didn't go overkill on the airbrush, they often had the stars doing fun stuff on the cover instead of just posing, etc, and they would add neat effects...oh man I could go on... Sigh....

You got that right. I didn't even have a VCR until 1986 so some shows I could only watch during the summer. Their were a lot more choices then. Nowadays theirs a lot of dead air time on tv.

Yea I don't know what happened. They started to go down hill sometime during the 90's and the last 2 or 3 years they have been just awful.
