Do you remember the episode where Jack, Janet and Terri thought their upstairs neighbor was a murderer? They snuck up to his room and open his suitcase and it was a dummy but they thought it was a body. The first time I saw that scene I actually fell on the floor, I was laughing so hard.

My family is driving there. I'll have to gather my GBA SP, games, puzzle books, and novels before I go, since it will take two full days to get there. But the sights are worth it. I want to go to Las Vegas and spend a night there but I don't know if it too late to mention it to my father. I haven't spent a night there in years.

The Rocky Mountains are the best sights around. Nothing but mountains, greens, and snow for hours. Utah has just plains and pastures. Nevada and eastern California are nothing but desert.

I'm glad I did. I got one from my Grandma and she tells me that she loves me on it. I'm glad I kept it but I don't look through them much.

I found a stash of birthday cards from before I turned 10 (we had a b-day celebration at school for people w/ summer b-days before school ended). I have no birthday cards beyond that. :(

Besides pictures, the earliest thing I have (that is the closest to a b-day card) is a home video of my 6th b-day in '91...my cousin that passed away in 1999 was in it, and I can't bear to watch it sometimes...It makes me choke up. I miss her so much. :(

Don't blame ya. There were some notes that I threw away for pretty much the same reason.

Oooo, I think I did a similar thing (with recipes) when I was in middle school. I had a cooking class in 6th grade...no, that wasn't it. When I was in 10th grade, a teacher was working on a cookbook to get it published, and I submitted my fave recipe for homemade brownies and frosting. :liplick:

It's so much fun to go through all of that stuff, isn't it? There's a Rubbermaid box I have here, stuffed to the gill with everthing imaginable. Art class projects, notes to parents sent out by the school, report cards. Actually, I have maybe 3 boxes full of my belongings from school. Even things from Brownies. Makes ya say, 'Awwwww."

Neat! I think mine was for a cake. But there's my name right there beside it. I'd long forgotten about that.

Thanks...It's hard to believe that this coming September, she'll have been gone for 5 years.

When I threw away those particular letters, one of the songs that reminded me of her came on (what luck). So there I was, tossing each and every one into the trash can, cursing under my breath. That's been more than 10 years ago, seems silly now. But I do have an old caricature drawn for us from AstroWorld - don't wanna throw that away. She and I had a really good time that day, we were best friends and.. I dunno, I keep it more for myself as a reminder that there were good times. It was drawn in June, 1985.

:( I was thinking about my grandfather and Natasha this week. Three months since she died, and the 29th of last month marked one month for my grandfather.

OY. OY. OY. When I was in...10th grade, I took all the empty shoeboxes that I could find and made a memory box for every year from 7th to 11th grade (I was finishing up 10th grade at the time I did the shoeboxes). I have one from 12th grade too, but I didn't do anything to it like I did with my other boxes. My 7th and 8th grade boxes are kinda full...My 9th grade box is practically empty because I hated 9th grade and didn't want to remember a lot about it...my 10th grade box OVERFLOWED ages ago because of all my notes 'n' crap....So is my 11th grade box (and it's HEAVY). My 12th grade box isn't too bad...I had senioritis really badly that year and didn't care, so there's not really a lot of stuff. Near the end, though, I do have like 2 or 3 newspaper ad clippings from when Vicki came to town...among a few other things...

Oh, and I have another shoebox from when I graduated- I had to have one at my open house 'n' stuff...Yep, that one's REALLY full, too. I think I got 50-75 cards from just graduating from high school. And the shoebox lid has...yep, you guessed it, a pic I printed out of me & Vicki :D

Lord have mercy, no wonder you have so many boxes. I have my elementary school things in one box, junior high in another and high school in the last. And the others are for letters and cards, which are coming out of my ears. You've inspired me to organize better. :faint:

Not surprised in the least. :D

We took shop class together, and we had to make a spaghetti bridge, so there's a picture of us sitting together with our spaghetti bridge project. We both look really happy (but she looks REALLY ugly and reminds me so much of the Olsen Twins there  ), plus I had a really great tan and it shows in the picture. I just cannot bear to throw it away.

Oh lordy. My grandpa's been gone for 7 years and 3½ months. Sad thing is, I don't remember as much anymore...I was just 11 when he passed away...I remember crying a lot @ the funeral home and stuff...but I don't really miss him anymore. It's really weird... =/

You are so bad.   "Eh, another picture with HER. Should I throw it away? Naw, I look damn good and she doesn't, so nyah."

My maternal grandfather is the one I find hard to miss, only because he and I met just once. He came to our house when I was 15 or 16, stayed a few hours and critisized my mother the entire time. My aunt got tired of it, so she took me and her half-sister out for a ride. All in all, I was around him for probably an hour of that time. He's been gone for....I dunno, 6 years I guess.

Yikes! I don't know if I'll miss my paternal grandparents after they pass on- they've always been the odd grandparents in my family...So it's hard to have good memories witih them, you know what I mean? My maternal grandma, I will def. miss when she passes away...I love her to death :biglove:

Oh brother, sounds like a girl I went to high school with. She stopped me at the mall after I had already graduated just to tell me she was engaged. This was when she was still IN high school. "We're in love. He's 24, but I know we'll be happy." Sure you will. I was 20 at the time and she took one look at me, and was shocked that I wasn't already married. Give me time! Good grief.

Yeah, that's understandable. My maternal grandmother is the one I miss more than I could ever say. She's been gone for almost 10 years. We were like best friends and hell, I thought of her as more of a mother than my OWN mother.

And she was all about find her one true love...OH MY GOD!!!!!! She dated this guy when we were in HS that was HORRID to her, then every time she got a new boyfriend, she said he was her true love...Give me a break!

Awww! My grandma's never done anything like that- I don't think. I can tell you one thing though...she's had the EXACT SAME BREAKFAST EVERY DAY since I was REALLY little! It consists of her heating up milk and Cheerios (the plain kind) a liquid measuring cup in the microwave and then eating it that way. EVERY DAY. Since I was REALLY little! I remember the smell, and she still eats it that way, even now. The smell of Cheerios and hot milk made me sick and still does.

For crying out loud, that would drive me up a wall in two seconds flat. There's nothing wrong with religion but to shove it down somebody's throat, not to mention being THAT fanatical - forget it. The girl who lived across the street from me was like that. Always asking me if I'd been saved and if I hadn't, would I like to on such and such day? I believe in God, I say my prayers at night, so on and so forth.. but sheesh! ohno: Going to church every Sunday and Wednesday doesn't necessarily make you a good Christian.

Sadly, I doubt that'll ever happen...TCBS had 258 episodes, so that averages 23 episodes per season, and they were all one hour long each...that would fit on EIGHT discs and would be VERY costly. I have the Freaks & Geeks Complete Season DVD - it had 18 episodes and they were all one hour long each and it takes up 6 discs and was $70... (I got it for $30 though)

They had a lot of musical numbers on the show, and a lot of those musicians are dead now and to get the whole series on DVD means having to obtain the right to the music on there...Freaks and Geeks has that too and it took them a long time to get it on DVD.

Allison and Tara have always started our chat threads, so more than likely, they'll be the ones to do it again. Although, since Tara's going to be leaving for a trip this month, she may not get a chance to. This is the first time anyone has started a thread besides those two.
