Post which theme song?

Which theme song do you like best? The first season, the second, or the third?

I like them all for their own reasons... I like season 1 becuase charlotte rae sings in it and becuase you BARELY get to hear it... only 13 times! hehe... i like season 2 becuase it's the classic way that EVERYONE knows... but i like season 3 too, becuase it is more upbeat and it gets stuck in my head so easily.. i could just get up and like dance to it kinda and be the lady who's singing it! But i love all the theme songs and i cannot just pick one! I love them all the same!

I'm a fan of the third one. It's just so easy to get stuck in your head, so upbeat, and it's the version I have on my TV theme songs CD that I put on my 80's mix tape years ago before I realized it was like the best show EVER. So I'm also more familiar with it. In like the other ones too though.

the classic theme song... the second one.

Nothin can beat the song used in seasons 2-6.

I absolutely hated the bad 80s rock remake used in the final seasons.

I'm indifferent to the original.

I have to agree with the Obsolete Man, the classic theme song(that simply just sounds better)is the one from season 2-6. The first season theme song sorta makes me laugh.
But I absolutely cringe everytime I hear the theme from seasons 7-9. Ugh, I hate it!(sorry if that offends anyone...)

I will have to say that the second theme has definitely aged the best. I really didn't like Charlotte Rae's voice in the first season theme song. The last one was catchy at the time but now just comes off as a bit cheesy like some of the 1980's style clothes and hairstyles that I hated back in Season #7.

Jo: Beats me, Tootie.

I really can't decide. I like season 1 beacause it actually sounds like an actual school song. The Second one is a little more dramatic IMO and I like the thrid one because it sounds like space age music with a rock beat and it is truly contemporary.

No offense, but I have the first season song. It is one of the worst theme's i've heard. Version 2 is okay, and they did use it the most, and all, but the third version is the best. It just sticks in your head so easily. I heard it once, and I never forgot it.

my mistake in first sentence. I meant to say I hate the first season song. (and most of those first season episodes. It just dosen't seem right without Jo.)

The first theme song was basically extensively corny and cheesy sounding with a lack of proper production values. It was more or less something that you can find pretty goofy but a bit upbeat at about the exact same time.

The second theme song was perhaps the most decent out of the three. Like the others, still contains some ability to stand the test of time. It sounded really simple and it was being bouncy but this time, it's straight-forward to the point and easy to catch onto. At the same time, it seemingly does the job with sounding too forced from the standpoint of finding it catcy (so in a way, it benefits from being laid-back).

The third theme is the most upbeat sounding and stylistic of the group. Yet you can tell that the this version of the theme is basically serves a basic purpose (i.e. being reworked to help feel contemporary and
"hip" strictly for the 1980s) with little else behind it in the end (in other words, it sounds pretty dated). The theme and production valus also sounds a really artificial from the start. There's the overblown whistle and synthesizer sounds surrounding just about everywhere.

seasons 2-6 theme was the best.

------------------
Stanley Roper: I'm sorry Jack

Jack Tripper: Oh, thats ok, what did you do?

Roper: Me? Nothing, I just thought I saw something that wasnt normal, because it was normal, but, now I can see it aint normal, so, everything's back to normal again.

Jack: oh, well, I'm glad for you.
