Default TV Land and Batman

With TV Land about to start running more shows, will the Dynamic Duo be put out of commision? I have a feeling Jenny may be able to provide the answers so I'll be checking back here. Same Jenny-Time! Same Jenny-Channel!
Seriously, are they going to put Batman in cold storage so TV Land can show I Dream Of Jeannie and Gidget?

I don't think that TV Land will drop or put 'Batman' on hiatus, because of new and upcoming shows. I think it will stay in it regular time-slot, or maybe change around a bit, but I doubt it will be gone. After all, they just began to air 'Batman' just about a year ago. I believe Pavanbadal said that 'Gidget' will not air in June. I don't think I Dream of Jeannie and Bewitched will effect Batman's stay on TV Land, unless they lose the rights before then, LOL.

Yeah, that would be my answer. I'm still hoping that Batman gets a better time slot, but it will prob. stay at 4 a.m. I guess 4 a.m. is better than nothing.

May I do some guessing? Remember, I'm not Pav, but look at Sanford and Son. Look at how many time slots it gets. Off hand, it gets the 6 pm, 6:30 pm, 9:00 pm, and 1 am (?) time slots. I'm taking a guess that the 9 pm and the 1 am time slot for Sanford and Son will leave and either Jeannie or Bewitched gets those two time slots. I still think Sanford and Son will still be part of the twice as nice. Let me get out the tv guide. Let's look at the double take hours.

3 pm- Brady Bunch
4 pm- Happy Days
5 pm- Gidget (like Impressions said, I don't think this show has that much of a life line left.)
6 pm- Sanford and Son- Sanford is still pretty new to the station this time, so I'd say it still has a while in the double takes. It might get moved up, but I'd say it still has some time with the double takes.

I just don't know about BB or HD. If they want both new shows to get a double take, one will def. have a free spot. The question is where the next free spot is at. If I had to take another wild guess, I'd say HD leaves the double takes for the other new show. I guess to sum things up, since Batman has such a late time slot, I don't think we have to worry about it leaving now.

Please remember, I'm not Pav and the schedule deal was just wild guesses.

Yeah, I agree with Jenny and Impressions. Gidget will free up a time slot when that leaves in June, same for Flying Nun; I don't think Hazel or Father Knows Best will be around either (those last two are just HUNCHES), so those are some free timeslots. I can't see Gilligan lasting in Twice as Nice much longer; they go through a rotation every two months.

I personally can't see much changes, lol. But, I could be entirely wrong. Who knows.

Do I think Batman is leaving? Doubtful. Look at how long Barney Miller has lasted at 2:30am? If anything, it could go on hiatus at anytime; not saying it will, but it's possible. TV Land had Bob Newhart and Gomer on extended hiatuses before bringing them back last year. But I can't see Batman going anytime soon. I know for a fact (I cannot say anymore; sorry) Batman isn't going anywhere; TVL is not losing the rights at all this year. After that, I can't say.

Again; I just can't say.

Hey Jenny,
I made it! Thanks for the tip!

What do you think of this prediction:

"Gunsmoke" is dropped (or moved to weekend afterrnoons only) to make room for "I Dream Of Jeannie" and "Bewitched" on the regular weekday schedule. And, "Batman" stays right where it is for at least another year?

Later,
Art

You may be right on par about Gunsmoke being dropped (I don't know much else, sorry), but probably not for sitcoms. Odds are, like I said, the Screen Gems shows (Waltons, Hazel, Father Knows Best, Gidget and Flying Nun) will probably be replaced with Bewitched, Jeannie, and eventually Mr. Ed.

Any way, back on topic. Odds are, Batman ain't going anywhere. The shows I PREDICT (I have no clue what June looks like, this is just speculation) will go are: Superman, Gidget, Waltons, Flying Nun, Hazel and Father Knows Best.

I will leave primetime blank, because I can't even begin to guess that. (This is SPECULATION)

(Mornings could go either way the 10/11 am blocks)
6am Gunsmoke
7am (Not sure; Waltons could stay)
8am Get Smart
8:30 Bob Newhart
9am Mary Tyler Moore
9:30 Dick Van Dyke
10am Bewitched (OR Brady Bunch)
10:30 I Dream of Jeannie (OR Gilligan's Island)
11am I Love Lucy
11:30 Leave it to Beaver
12pm Gunsmoke
1pm MacGyver
2pm The Brady Bunch
3pm Happy Days
4pm I Dream of Jeannie
5pm Bewitched
6pm Sanford & Son
7pm Leave it to Beaver
7:30 Andy Griffith Show
(I can't even begin to guess primetime)
12am MacGyver
1am Sanford & Son
1:30 ?
2am Dick Van Dyke
2:30 Barney Miller
3am Bob Newhart
3:30 ?
4am Batman
5am Charlie's Angels

I personally don't see many huge changes. But, we never know what TV Land could do.

TVJunkie101,
That all makes sense. I can see all of that. "The Waltons" being chucked only weeks after it replaced "The Love Boat" *does* seem unlikely.

I guess only time will really tell.

Here were my predictions: (they were posted back awhile ago . . .)

Quote:
* Prime Time Line-Up (8 to 10pm) will consist of: “Bewitched”, “I Dream Of Jeannie”, “Sanford and Son”, and “The Munsters” or “I Love Lucy”
*”Happy Days” and “The Brady Bunch” will still air in Twice as Nice but will be removed from Prime Time.
“Gilligan’s Island” will be removed both from Prime Time and Twice as Nice and will air at 11:00 or 11:30pm.
“Gidget” will be eliminated entirely from the TV Land schedule
Unfortunately, TV Land will still keep TAGS/LITB Hour in the evening at 7pm and/or 10pm.
The Twice As Nice Line-Up will consist of: “The Brady Bunch”, “Happy Days”, “Sanford and Son”, “Bewitched”, “I Dream Of Jeannie”, and maybe “The Munsters”
“The Flying Nun” will might leave the TV Land schedule entirely.
*”Happy Days” and “The Brady Bunch” will might air at a later time (10 to 12mid) in the evening.

Twice as Nice
2- "The Brady Bunch"
3- "Happy Days"
4- "Sanford and Son"
5- "Bewitched"
6- "I Dream Of Jeannie"

7- "Leave It To Beaver"
7:30- "The Andy Griffith Show"

Prime Time
8- "Sanford and Son"
8:30- "Bewitched"
9- "I Dream Of Jeannie"
9:30- "The Munsters"

Late Evening:
10- "I Love Lucy"
10:30- "Happy Days"
11- "The Brady Bunch"
11:30- "Gilligan's Island"
We now all know what the June schedule look likes now (since its posted).

I'm glad Lucyfan bumped this topic back up. I wanted to wait until closer to June to post this, but since the topic got bumped up, I'll do it now. I really and truly believe Batman would be safe at the 4 and 4:30 a.m. timeslots. It was half safe. We lose the 4 a.m. timeslot and in June we'll just have 4:30 to watch Batman. Um, I think 4 a.m. will be Superman. Just look up Pav's thread on General and you'll see the schedule changes.

I am very disappointed. Yeah, I'm glad Batman is still on, but Batman wasn't overplayed. Most of the shows on TVL are overplayed. Whether it be a show that has been on 4 or 5 stations before it came to TVL, or whether it be overplayed when TVL starts to show the show. I'm really disgusted at TVL and I'm barely watching the station anymore. Hell, can you believe I'm actually watching Nick at Nite more than I do TVL? I watch 3's Company and AITF. I'll catch a few shows on TVL occasionally, but I'm not making a point of watching the station like I used to.

I feel totally opposite of you when it comes to TV Land. To me, TV Land is just getting better and better every year. It's my favorite channel filled with many of my favorite sitcoms such as
I Love Lucy, The Munsters, Happy Days, Sanford and Son, Mary Tyler Moore, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Brady Bunch and soon to be Bewitched and I Dream Of Jeannie. I LOVE it!

I am glad it's not going anywhere. I love this show. I don't mind the late timeslot, cause I am up late most of the time anyways.

Hi everybody,
At a glance at some of the "By Show" schedules for this week on TVLand's web site, it seems that "I Dream Of Jeanie" will be moving into the 10:30 a.m. time slot, replacing "Father Knows Best," into the 11:30 p.m. time slot replacing "The Flying Nun" and into "Gilligan's Island"'s 2:00 p.m. hour. "Gilligan's Island" ("Twice as Nice") moves to the 4:00 p.m hour, where "Happy Days" has been. The Fonz now moves to five, replacing "Gidget." Jeanie will apparently also replace the 2:00 a.m. "Dick Van Dyke Show," which moves to 2:30 a.m., pushing "Barney Miller" to 3:00 a.m.

Meanwhile, "Bewitched" slides into the 3:00 p.m. hour which had belonged to "The Brady Bunch" and the 9:30 p.m. slot, which I think *was* Gilligan's. "The Brady Bunch" will only be seen this week at 8:00 p.m. and 3:30 a.m.

So, it looks like the casualties are "Father Knows Best," "The Flying Nun" & "Gidget." Bad news for fans of Sally Field. I have a feeling that the Bradys may soon be getting axed, too, 'cause it looks like "Fantasy Island" will be taking over that 8:00 p.m. spot pretty soon. It looks like everything else on the schedule is pretty much staying the same.

The bottom line is -- it appears that "The Adventures Of Superman" & "Batman" are staying put . . . at least for now.

Later,
Art

That'll be weird for the Brady Bunch. I'm not a fan of the show, but I'm wondering how it's doing in the ratings. If it's doing good, they might bring it back, if they do drop it.

I've been thinking about doing something for both the Batman and the Twilight Zone boards I run. I really and truly want to make sure each person gets the eps they want. Tv is tricky. You might think something is safe and then it gets dropped all of a sudden. Anyway, I'm thinking of listing each ep that comes on and then it'll be up to the person to look at the page and see which eps come on during which day. I can't tell you how many times I screw up and miss something I really wanted to record because I mixed up the days.

Jenny,
That's seems like a lot of work. If you've got the time -- and the desire -- knock yourself out. I wish someone would do that for "Star Trek." I'm still trying to catch and record Yvonne's episode of that show. It wasn't a part of SciFi's recent marathon. Doesn't appear to be this week, either.
