Default Lamont and Julio on "All In The Family"

Hi all,
Does anyone remember Lamont's (Demond Wilson's) and Julio's (Gregory Sierra's) appearances on "All In The Family"? They are two of my favorite episodes of that entire series -- two outstanding shows.

Demond Wilson played a robber who, along with Cleavon Little, broke into the Bunkers' house to rob them while they were out. (They eventually gave back all the stuff they had taken.)

Gregory Sierra played a member of the Hebrew Defense Association who offered the Bunkers protection after a group of anti-Semitic thugs had painted a giant swastika on their front door. (He was ultimately killed by the same group of thugs.)

Later,
Art

Yeah, I have both of these episodes on tape. Demond didn't talk like Lamont did when he did that episode of All In The Family, that was where Edith writes a song and enters it in the contest, and the burglars come in during the night and surprise the Bunkers.
It was sad that Gregory's character had to die when the bomb blew up in his car. That was the most shocking episode I saw up till that time.

Yeah, I remember them. The song ep with Demond was very funny. Gregory's ep. had quite a shocking ending.

BravesFan712002,
I have both of those shows on tape also. The one with Demond Wilson *is* the one in which Edith wrote a song. As a matter of fact, I believe the actual episode title is "Edith Writes A Song." I still remember seeing both of those shows, as they aired for the first time on CBS. I was a teenager, and they seem like such a long time ago. The one in which Gregory Sierra died in the end really shocked me and tattoed itself on my brain. He's really a talented actor whose done such great work on TV -- after leaving "Sanford & Son" becoming first Chano on "Barney Miller" . . . and then El Puerco on "Soap."

vintagetvgirl,
Demond was not easily recognizeable in his "All In The Family" appearance, mostly because, as BravesFan712002 said, he spoke in a voice that was *much* different from what we're used to hearing from him.

I haven't seen either of those episodes. I'd like to, though.

The one with Demond is on the 2nd season DVD of All In The Family, the one with Gregory is in the Columbia House Video Collection of All In The Family because it is in the 3rd season. Hopefully they'll get to the 3rd season DVD soon.

On a similar note, I remember seeing Berlinda Tolbert (Jenny from The Jeffersons) on an episode of Sanford and Son, I think it was the episode where Fred's niece Elizabeth moves in with her friends and a guy friend. I can't remember off hand if her name is Berlinda, or Belinda, lol, I've seen the show enough, I should know...

Nancy Kulp from The Beverly Hillbillies was on the other night too, as Hoppy's mother. Hal Smith, who played Smitty, was on an episode of Good Times from the first season.

Just some similar cases, lol, don't yell at me if I got off topic, lol.

When I referred to Hal Smith, I meant to say Hal Williams (I'm pretty sure Williams was his real last name, lol)

TVJunkie101,
It is Berlinda, and she played a character named Delores in an episode entitled "Sanford And Niece."

Did you ever see the late Nancy Kulp (of "The Beverly Hillbillies") on "I Love Lucy" as an English hotel maid or something like that? She had an English accent, and I think she tried to teach Lucy how to curtzy, before she met the Queen. Natalie Shaefer (Gilligan's Mrs. Howell) also appeared on "I Love Lucy."

Later,
Art

P.S. I think we have now officially gotten far enough off topic.

I've Noticed that All In The Family, The Jeffersons and Sanford and Son had alot of the sam guest stars and stuff too. I Guess their all friends of Norman Lear

I Always noticed something else too. All In The Family, The Jeffersons, Maude and Good Times were all connected in some way, Yet Sanford and Son was in its own world

I never figured out why S&S was the only Norman Lear comedy on NBC and the others were all on CBS. But I digress.

I never saw the AITF episode with Demond Wilson, but I DID see the one with Gregory Sierra. It indeed was a shocking episode with a very sad ending. Very powerful indeed.
