Rhoda Gemignani played Irene in her one first season appearance. In season 2, Nick and Irene were played by John Aprea and Yvonne Wilder, who reprised their roles for Jesse and Becky's wedding.

To me, his parents weren't shown enough since they were the girls' grandparents too.

And they were never shown interacting with Nicky and Alex.
