Default Does anyone remember the "Very Special" Belvedere?

I'm wondering if anyone remembers the "Very Special" Belvedere where Wesley gets touched by a camp counsellor.

Just wondering if anyone remembers this episode.

Well, sure. The episode is called The Counselor and ended with Christopher Hewitt and Brice Beckham addressing the audience instead of Belvedere writing in his journal. It's really no more special than the AIDS episode, called Wesley's Friend.

The episode aired on May 6, 1988 and I have the original broadcast on tape. You must have missed it.

Hey, Boesh, cool to have a fellow Belvey-ite around here.

I also have that as part of my 8-tape Belvey collection.

Yep, the one ep of the whole series run that didn't end with Belvey writing in his journal.

Why exactly do most viewers consider this the "jump the shark" moment? It isn't like other '80s sitcoms didn't do "very special episodes" (for better or worse) about child abuse?

I don't consider it a JTS episode. Not at all.

I never thought Mr. Belvedere did special episodes but I guess I was wrong. Seemed odd to do a special episode considering how the show was up until that point. It really was never heavy handed. I am at the library so I missed the episode. Kind of glad I did though.

Oh man I missed it. Got off work late today and had to take a nap. Hopefully I'll catch it when it runs again on a weekend but that won't be until later this spring or possibly even summer.

Yeah I just watched it today! You might be able to catch the ep on the weekend soon. I noticed with Mr. Belvedere they rerun eps that were just shown not too long ago I noticed!
