At the start of the series, Rachel was depicted as being a struggling single mother with an infant child who needed to live with her sister’s family. Eventually, Rachel became the owner of her own diner.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't business reasonably booming when Rachel's Place first opened? But then there was one episode where she talked about money being tight with her and having to return a dress so she could afford gear for Richie. Wasn't Rachel's Place also really, a family business (weren't Carl, Harriet and Mother Winslow were investors) even though she ran it? Outside of that, is it possible that her late husband had good life insurance? Or maybe, the Mighty Weenie ultimately purchased Rachel’s Place. So, it could be possible that she was living off the proceeds, or maybe she got another job don't you agree? |
