According to reports from Variety and the Lake Havasu City Police Department, Sheets was found dead in his Arizona home around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Authorities indicated his death appeared to be from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office in Arizona confirmed Sheets died last month by suicide at age 67 after reports stated that he from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
