Williams, who died Oct. 2, was best known for recurring as earnest lab scientist with a pocket protector and a kinky side Ted Olsen on ABC’s short-lived 1982 comedy series Police Squad! and its successor, The Naked Gun film trilogy, both starring Leslie Nielsen. Williams was an acting teacher at Los Angeles City College when he landed the Police Squad! role. Williams also had guest roles on House, Sisters, Matlock, L.A. Law and MacGyver. |

Just saw that in NY Post.
Ed was something else on that show. Police Squad! remains the funniest TV series of all time. I knew back in ‘82 it was too funny to keep it up, and I recorded all the episodes before it came out commercially. cd |
