Quinn was in Ann Arbor, Michigan last Saturday ready to go on air for Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff when he was called to work Sunday’s Las Vegas Raiders-Indianapolis Colts game in Indianapolis after Sanchez was stabbed and hospitalized. “It’s been a whirlwind to say the least—not much sleep and mixed emotions,” Quinn told Awful Announcing via text message. “Obviously concerned for Mark’s health and the well-being of all those involved, but at the same time excited for the opportunity to call a game. However, it’s not ideal. I pride myself on preparation, and there’s not enough time to prepare in the manner I am accustomed to. I’m very appreciative of all the folks behind the scenes at Fox and coaches on both teams who went out of their way to help.”

Fox omits Mark Sanchez from its Week 6 NFL game lineup

With only five Fox games this weekend, one of the broadcast teams was going to be off. Sanchez was part of the NFL on Fox’s No. 6 team. Yet Sanchez’s usual play-by-play partner, Adam Amin, will be working.
