Default These are episodes with John Amos that are not worth recording

These were my only 4 episodes with John Amos that i don't want to see again.

1. THe Baby-too dramatic
2. The Break Up-too boring
3. J.J Fiancee-too serious/dramatic
4.A Place to Die-Horrible ending

The four episodes that I have chosen I think two of the episodes are without John Amos. I think they are "The Baby" and "A Place to Die" Someone can let me know if i'm wrong.

Really, I thought The Baby and J.J.'s Fiancee were fantastic episodes. A Place to Die ended as it should have. The episode would not have been justified if Hubert hadn't died. If you didn't like the ending than you perhaps you don't understand the point of the episode.

The only episodes I didn't like from the John Amos days were:

The Enlistment
Michael's Big Fall
The Politicians

I just rather not have episodes with a character dying in my video collection. Also John Amos was not in Michael's big fall-Lou Gossett took his place. I think he wasn't in the Enlistment either. But you didn't like the Piliticians episode when they were playing the dozens?

John Amos was not in Michael's Big Fall. That's why I don't like it, it would have been better if he had been in it, no offense to Lou Gossett, but this episode called for John Amos.

John was in The Enlistment, Esther Rolle wasn't.

What's wrong with death? It's a natural thing and I think when a sitcom deals with death it's usually done in a very touching way. Personally, I thought A Place to Die was very touching and moving. It prompts the viewer to think.

Death is a natural thing but i would just prefer to keep episodes in my sitcom collection that's upbeat and entertaining. That's why i had to tape over the two part episode when James was killed off-

Wow. I guess I'm stunned. The Big Move (Part 2) is one of my all-time favorite episodes of Good Times. Sorry, but, for me that episode was one of the best episodes and incredibly entertaining. Florida's breakdown at the end was so incredibly moving, damn, now I've got to watch that 2-parter. Thanks for using that episode as an example, I've got to watch it again. I'm not a big All in the Family fan, but there are some episodes that incredible and a couple of them involve death and as soon as they're on again, I'm going to get them. They include: Edith's Final Respects and Edith's Crisis of Faith (Part 1 and 2). Also, the Family Ties 2-parter, A, My Name is Alex is fantastic. I don't understand how those episodes could be deemed as not entertaining. Then again, we all have our own tastes.

Can you please tell me the steps you took in purchasing a Good Times tape from Columbia house?

Also if you want to order a specific tape, you must call in and and request that certain volume and they will send you a form to fill out for it.

Encore Black aired that episode today and I wonder if John Amos was already having issues w/ the show? Even watching right then and there, it seemed quite obvious that the script was written w/ James in mind, but at the a last minute or so, they swiped him for Florida's visiting brother.

I agree with your list except I think J.J.'s fiancée is pretty well acted, even Jimmie Walker gives a good performance. I haven't seen A Place To Die in years and don't want to see it again!

I agree with all except for a place to date. Despite JA not being in it, I really liked that episode. The first 3 - definitely. I like how cable guides now tell you what episode it will be so you know to skip it.
