The lawsuit concerning the show The Pitt was filed by the estate of ER creator Michael Crichton against Warner Bros., actor Noah Wyle, and producers for allegedly creating The Pitt as an unauthorized reboot of ER after failed negotiations for an official reboot. The Crichton estate claims the studio breached a contract requiring Crichton's consent for derivative works and argues that The Pitt is essentially ER rebranded. While the defendants initially tried to dismiss the case, a judge allowed the lawsuit to proceed, finding the claims had enough merit to be heard. |
