After the success of the Alvin And The Chipmunks movies I think Nickelodeon was seriously thinking of launching an Alvin And The Chipmunks reboot because seeing how the movies became somewhat of a hit they thought this new reboot would somehow be like the original 1980's Alvin And The Chipmunks cartoon. But in my eyes I thought it was unappealing after seeing a few episodes of it. Because for one thing they gave the Chipmunks strange personalities because Alvin became a troublemaker along with Theodore and Simon was very different and wanted to be the leader and the female chipmunk Brittany became a fashionista and this style of Alvin And The Chipmunks was very different from the original. You can see why this reboot failed because not only were the original voice actors no longer living but this was a poor reboot and the theme song was also ruined too. When it comes to cartoon series based on movies some reboots work while some reboots fail which is what happened with this version of Alvin And The Chipmunks
