While some viewers feel The Gilded Age doesn't have enough death, and a recent fan discussion on MSN noted that the 1880s was a time of high mortality, the show does incorporate death for dramatic impact, as seen with the death of John Adams in Season 3. However, this particular death of a recurring character was viewed by some as a missed opportunity, as it didn't "feel like a real loss" and was followed by a "miraculous recovery" for George Russell from a separate shooting incident. |
