I remember when The X-Files Fight The Future debuted in the theaters and when it first opened my dad and I took Mom to see it and my view of this movie was that it was essentially a The X-Files episode but longer and what I think Chris Carter was trying to do with The X-Files was build a movie franchise and beginning with The X-Files Fight The Future this was to be the start of the X-Files movies. Considering that The X-Files was a popular series for FOX I think that a The X-Files movie would be the trick to getting the show mega ratings. But like other Sci-fi shows that have had movies like Stargate with Stargate SG-1 The X-Files had the basis of becoming a movie and just like the countless Star Trek movies I think had The X-Files Fight The Future had been a bigger box-office hit more The X-Files movies would've followed and Chris Carter would've been more happier
