On July 11, 1995, the 66th annual Major League Baseball All-Star Game was played at The Ballpark of Arlington, the then home of the Texas Rangers. Last year, the All-Star Game returned to Arlington, Texas, this time at the Rangers' present day home, Globe Life Field.

This All-Star Game was also notably, the first MLB All-Star Game to air on the American Broadcasting Company television network since the 1988 game in Cincinnati. It however, turned out to be ABC's final MLB All-Star Game broadcast to date. 1995 was the second year of The Baseball Network, which was a revenue sharing joint venture between ABC, NBC, and Major League Baseball. The 1995 All-Star Game just like in the year before, was the first broadcast for The Baseball Network of the season. After the 1995 World Series (for which ABC shared broadcasting duties with NBC, airing three games apiece), The Baseball Network dissolved and Major League Baseball moved on to its current network TV partner in Fox.

This year's All-Star Game is taking place in Atlanta. The last time that the MLB All-Star Game was in Atlanta was 25 years ago. And like in the 1995 game from Arlington, it also took place on July 11. The 2000 All-Star Game was the final MLB All-Star Game to date, to be televised by NBC. Every single MLB All-Star Game since that time, have been televised by Fox.
