For example, did they set Darlene up for failure by letting her boyfriend live in their house? Don't you think that at that point, her whole life was going to revolve around him?
Also, were Dan and Roseanne idiots to give Becky thousands of dollars instead of offering to pay tuition? She ultimately gave the money to Mark. So in effect, did they allow the girls to get too entangled with their boyfriends before they developed themselves? And when DJ stole a car, Roseanne broke down crying and apologized because of her own issues even though he could have killed himself and others. It seems like they didn't set boundaries for their kids because of past trauma and they hurt their kids' future with those lack of boundaries. Why did it seem like the only time DJ was "disciplined" was whenever Darlene threatened him? Like the episode where she catches him peeping at the neighbor getting dressed. Roseanne and Dan did nothing earlier when he was sneaking to look at his sisters. |
