TMC Member Forum Idol Join Date: Jan 09, 2001 Posts: 124,545	Was Season 5 (1997-98) originally planned to be the last for the show Season 5 concluded with them ending Chubbies, having Feeny retire, Alan and Amy randomly having another kid, and hinting at Shawn not going to college and Topanga going to Yale. They also brought back Minkus, Joey and Frankie for the season finale. Keep in mind, that You Wish and Teen Angel wound up being cancelled after ABC brought them in to replace Family Matters and Step by Step (who both moved on to CBS for what would be their final seasons, respectively) on the TGIF line-up. TGIF really wasn't stable by this point, so there should be reason to believe or suspect that ABC was thinking of dropping Boy Meets World? Sabrina the Teenage Witch left in 2000 (the same year that Boy Meets World officially ended) because ABC couldn't guarantee anything beyond a fifth season.
