The 90's were truly groundbreaking for children's educational TV and when educational TV for children became big it gained huge ratings in TV. The most popular show of the 90's was Lamb Chop's Play-Along and if you can find an episode of Lamb Chop's Play-Along you can see why it meant a giant comeback for the late Shari Lewis because it combined songs and games that could keep children entertained for hours. In fact at the time of her death Shari Lewis created Charlie Horse Music Pizza which was a spinoff of Lamb Chop's Play-Along and had she lived Shari Lewis would've still made her mark and made herself a new name for a new generation of fans. Another 90's show that seems to be forgotten was Adventures From The Book Of Virtues and when it debuted on PBS it was praised for it's lessons through stories and with it's unique cast of characters such as Annie and Zack and the bison Plato and the wise hawk Aurora Adventures From The Book Of Virtues is one show that should've gotten far. Storytime was another 90's show that was underrated and combined stories with various celebrities telling kids popular stories with lessons too and with the wonderful character Kino Storytime was one of the best 90's shows. But when Nick Jr. launched Blue's Clues in the 90's as the first interactive show for young children little did we know that this would begin a new trend of children's shows and Blue's Clues continues to remain popular through many spinoff series and you can honestly say thanks to Blue's Clues Nick Jr. has replaced PBS Kids as number one educational children's channel. But if you look at TV today you will rarely find good educational shows for young children and I think they are moving this content to the Christian channels because they focus on lessons such as honor your mother and father and be a good samaritan and feature Bible stories as well. But it would be smart to see these 90's educational shows get rebooted for a new generation of children today
