Were any of the episodes that centered around Rose and Miles pretty bad

Like the one where Rose attends a faculty party with Miles and these professors are supposed to be having high literary conversations. But they are discussing the most basic things that you would assign to an undergrad to write a paper on. It's not discussed as though it was a brand new hot topic.
