90s Cool is the style of Cool from the 1990s when sporty sunglasses, trench coats, leather, Hong Kong Cinema, and alternative music ruled pop culture. Despite being such a huge deal for over a decade, this style was oddly never named. That was until Jay from Redlettermedia coined it as 90s Cool. From there, I decided to take this idea further, and explore that trend as much as possible.

If you want to know what 90s Cool is in a nutshell - think The Matrix, Blade, The Crow, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or Final Fantasy 7. Those are peak examples, but the style ran much deeper than that in every area of pop culture. In this video, I'm going to expand on the lore of 90s Cool by covering it's timeline, which I've divided into four phases. This video will cover the 1990s portion of the 90s Cool era.
