Was Teri Garr in The Black Stallion? I noticed she was in that movie because The Black Stallion is one of my favorite horse movies of all time

She was. She played the main character's mom, who visited her in an Obi-Wan Kenobi type manner after dying in the shipwreck.
I hate this as much as anyone else, but we all knew this was coming. Some fun facts; Teri's first speaking role was not the 1968 Monkees movie "Head." It was actually a lame teen-exploitation flick from 1967 called "The Cool Ones." One of my favorite movies with Teri was thew 1985 black comedy "After Hours." She played a waitress in a Greenwich Village bar who dresses like a 1960's girl, who befriends the main character played by Griffin Dunne after his date (played by Rosanna Arquette) commits suicide. The bar owner's boss (played by John Heard) had a special nickname for her. For decades I was convinced that nobody else could've played this girl except for Garr. If Martin Scorsese had anyone else in mind, I'd like to know who she was. She also had an uncredited role in the 2006 Christmas movie "Unaccompanied Minors," playing an aunt of one of the main characters who loves Christmas a little too much. On the DVD, when her presence in the movie was announced, everybody else who was in the commentary cheered. This should give you an idea of how adored she was. Long live Miss Beehive 1965! |
