Default Kendrick Lamar to headline Super Bowl LIX halftime show

https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nf...nza%20on%20FOX.

It will be some time before we know who will play in the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans, but the halftime act is locked in. It was revealed on Sunday morning that Kendrick Lamar will be the featured performer at halftime of the Feb. 9 extravaganza on FOX.

Kendrick Lamar as Super Bowl halftime performer is an "extremely Black choice" — and another example of Jay-Z's influence on NFL owners.

When it comes to the Super Bowl Halftime Shows I never figured out when rap artists became so popular to headline the Super Bowl Halftime shows. And I think it's because rap artists as well as rap itself is now the top genre of music next to R&B and pop. I think the main reason why Kendrick Lamar was chosen to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show was after they saw with Usher they discovered that rap artists and R&B singers are cheaper to get for less money. But I remember when Super Bowl Halftime Shows were big giant affairs and they used to have various artists such as Billy Joel Gladys Knight Patti Labelle Diana Ross Aretha Franklin and Paul McCartney appear in themed shows. But starting with U2 and Prince having solo halftime shows the trend of having solo halftime shows started to blossom. But it was the famous Janet Jackson halftime show that stopped the various artists themed halftime shows and that's when they went downhill. I can guarantee people will not watch next year's Super Bowl Halftime Show due to Kendrick Lamar and the Super Bowl will get low ratings due to this show. Why they chose Kendrick Lamar I'll never know

Will the NFL and Fox censor Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show out of fear of a Drake lawsuit?

According to TMZ, "this year there's extra attention on Kendrick's plans, because of 'Not Like Us,' and the defamation lawsuit Drake filed against Universal Music Group over the diss track ... which, as we all know, flat-out calls Drake a 'certified pedophile.' So, here's what usually goes down ... once the execs get the set list, they call in the lawyers, who pore over the lyrics to make sure there's nothing that'll get the league or the network in trouble with the FCC. Now, there's no doubt Kendrick is doing the song -- our sources connected to him, the network and the league all confirm that. What the lawyers have to decide is whether to broadcast the lyrics that allegedly defame Drake, and risk a potential lawsuit."

Kendrick Lamar was defiant, proud, vindictive, playful and celebratory — his Super Bowl halftime show was subversive genius.

Because next year is Super Bowl 60, Alison Krauss should be the one to sing the national anthem. Mason Ramsey can be the half time show.

God bless you and him and Alison always!!!
